Good morning! I slept later so I'm late getting here! It's another warm start to the day, but this time it's really foggy. The high temperature yesterday was 80°. I got back from lunch and turned on the AC! We had seafood for dinner last night. I had salsa butter shrimp, and Bill had crab cakes. All great! Going to the Salem senior center this morning so have to get going and have breakfast. Back later! Enjoy the morning! Waving to all!

Bet, your pictures have really made my day.
I had a floor show yesterday during my supper as I sat and watched a pileated woodpecker move around the woods across the road from my dining table. If you have never seen one, they are the size of a crow and inflight they have white under their wings plus their head looks a little like a pterodactyl. I had a hunch we had some around because some trees had huge rectangular holes in them. What a treat! Now why is it that this dictation will put in a word like pterodactyl correctly and yet miss some of the simple words?!
Lori, it is good to see you posting. I also enjoy reading the creative cooking that you ladies are doing. It makes me a little jealous.
Have a great day.
Birdy

Good morning everyone. Bet, I forgot American thanksgiving is a different day than ours. Lori, glad you’re feeling better and had a much better time at PT yesterday. emr, sore arms seem to be the norm with those shots. I also had the chills, but only for about an hour or so. Helen, yesterday seems to have been a soup day. Must be the weather. Chris, will have to go looking for that recipe. Love butternut squash soup. Birdie, interesting birds you have around your area. None like that here. When DD1 was here yesterday I noticed that her frames were red. Got me thinking, I could use a little colour too, next time I change my frames. No idea what’s going on today. DH mentioned going to the book sale one more time. No idea for supper either. Soup was good last night, put the rest in the freezer. Off to do my b/pressure and have my coffee. Maybe I’ll be able to think more clearly then. Bbl. Jan

Good morning. A nice cool morning and a hot afternoon. We were the only ones in the pet area this morning again. But I'm sure it was because we were a lot later than usual.
Not a good night of sleep so I got an extra hour and got upn at 6:30. I woke up at 5 and had a hard time falling back to sleep. I think too much sitting is causing the sleepless nights, nothing to tire me out. I've decided I'll just deal with the foot pain the same way as I do the arms, just bulldoze through it all. I'm not ready yet to spend all my time in the recliner. Those days will come soon enough. That being said, it's cleaning day today and that includes taking the leaf blower to the porch. It's going to be a hot few more days so mornings are a good time to get things done. Tomorrow I may pack up some items from the cabinets on the porch that I no longer and will no longer use. I don't cook like that anymore and have no interest in ever doing so. I need that cabinet for more important items. Marie still picks up things for the needy so I'll give her a call when I'm done.
Time now to strip the bed and get the sheets in the wash. More coffee too. :)

Morning again! I pulled up the blinds soon after posting and noticed dense, dense fog...couldn't see across the street. No way I was going to drive on the highway so cancelled going to Salem. I put in a work order to maintenance to tell them about two GFI plugs popping frequently. Electrician came up and tightened the connections, and he told us not to hesitate to get back in touch if they pop again. Fog has dissipated and the sun is shining. Getting warm out there, too. Going to the bank to deposit the rest of the coins. Now I can use the suitcase to pack some summer things for storage. I'm going to order chicken and vegetables from the restaurant and make a spicy noodle dish tonight. Later this afternoon (2-5) the staff is going to be entertaining us with skits. Should be fun! Lori - Glad to read that PT was good for you. Mamma - Nice of you to donate things to people who can use them. I had so many things to donate! Birdy - Wow! What a treat seeing a real "Woody Woodpecker". Enjoy your new glasses! Tasty - Good luck at the pop up market! Bet - Lovely picture, again! Glad you had enough food! Did the 4 extra people 'forget' to RSVP or did they just figure you'd cook extra food. Hmmm! Tammy - Address change noted! Elaine - Saying prayers for sister. Elza - Google Curtis Adams - you can get some good workout using free weights and bands. The bands we use are the circular ones that we put on like a girdle!! We do lunges, knee lifts, marching, etc. Looks like a band of penguins when we walk...waddle, waddle!!! Time to head out! Waving!

G'Day Mates! A gorgeous fall day here with the temps in the low 70's and beautiful, clear skies. We have not had much color change as it has been so dry.
Not much going on here....which is probably a good thing. Our neighbors (Spirit DD and her hubby) are getting a new roof put on for the past two days. I love the sound of building: saws and hammers and the workers talking to each other. To me, the sounds are very comforting.
Ann, I have to chuckle at your hours during the day....I think DH and I are just going down when you are getting up!! We are night owls - well, he is and I just stay up with him. We call ourselves the neighborhood sentinels.
Tasty, wish we lived closer - DH and I would purchase at least one of each of your jams and probably going back for seconds. We both love jams and jellies on our bagels and toasts.
Bet, your area is beautiful. I love your pictures, but love to see the colors "live!" I have actually....spectacular!
Birdy, loved your description of your glasses!! I had a patient that was "glitzy" and she would have a different pair of pazzaz glasses for each day of the week. Loved it. We had in the early spring a pair of pileated woodpeckers living in our walnut trees. They seemed to be nesting but then just disappeared. They were pretty neat!
Lori, yes it is lovely to see you back. Each day you seem better and a bit more chipper.
Chris, butternut squash soup is one of my favorites also. Don't make it very often, but when I do, it is gone within a couple of meals.
I just put a 6# hen in the oven...should be finished in a couple of hours. Then DH will slice and dice and I will freeze portions. We both like hot chicken sandwiches.
We get our flu and, maybe, our covid shots next week. We really have not had any problems with either other than maybe a slight chill for a short hour and sore arms. My DD and her DH on the other hands have had difficult times with the vaccines.
Mamma, would you share what your doctor has you using and doing for the Morton's Neuroma? My daughter has one and the doctors are pushing surgery, which she is totally against.
It is lunch time, so I guess I should get in gear - even if it is low gear. Have a good day.

Hi ! Another gorgeous day here. If we get no rain for the rest of the month it will set a record as the driest October ever here, since they have been keeping records. It is so warm that we are also within 2 degrees of breaking the heat record each day this week.
I just got home from eating lunch at Care-because they served spaghetti with meat sauce-a very favorite of mine. It was meaty and delicious, unlike the Italian place in town. It says meat sauce but is so much like plain marinara-cannot tell if it really has meat! I do not order it anymore.
The only thing on my agenda this afternoon is cooking. I am taking a meal to a lady and her family who were hurt in a car wreck. I am doing pretty much the same menu that I made yesterday: pork chops New Orleans, veggie rice, green beans, salad and an apple crisp. Our supper will be chicken tetrazzini.
I once saw a pileated woodpecker at work. I had no idea what kind of bird that was an had to look it up. Pretty impressive creature!
The days sure do fly by. Hard to believe I have to go to work tomorrow. Waving to everyone!!

That was an early start this morning but it proved to be well worth our while. Nothing too exciting happening for the rest of the day - just regular day-to day stuff and decide on something for supper.

Good morning. Coco and I did our block walk and then I walked. Then went to clubhouse and worked on the puzzle. Came home and made bacon burritos for breakfast. Now, I am sitting at the drs. With Judy. Tonight we have a potluck. We are taking chicken stroganoff .
Birdy- we had dilated and a few other kinds of woodpeckers at the lake. Heck, I miss all of it.
Thanks for the prayers for Delores. Yesterday, we didn't hear from Shsrlene.lol she laid down for a nap at 4pm and woke up at 5 this morning. Her driving straight through caught up with her.
Ann- it sounds like a fun afternoon.
Tasty- glad to hear the sales went good this morning.

I've just been doing the usual. DD/DSIL will be picking me up in an hour or two to vote early. I appreciate the lift and won't have to worry about getting lost driving to a new address. TX roads are pretty much a mystery to me still. There was talk of possibly a supper included in our trip today. Got no argument from me. I enjoyed the nice newsy posts today, friends. Hugs

So one of the classes that I sub for is Industrial Trades. Electrical and Welding and Pluming. Yesterday one of the students from that class was killed in a car accident on his way to school. So sad. He was a good student. I liked him a lot. They just notified me of it. I am so saddened by this.

Annie was like she was drunk again today. I don't know what her problem is but she makes me dizzy. At some time she got knocked off her charger so I had to wait for her to get charged. She got this room and the bedroom done and then the battery was done. hehehe I'll finish the other room tomorrow. I'm done too. I unloaded the dishwasher, washed a sink full of dishes and shook out a couple rugs. My foot and arms are done for the day. But maybe I'll sleep tonight. LOL Don't I wish it were that simple.
While I was waiting for Annie to charge up a a bit I made two cards. I love doing the blending technique. No two cards turn out the same way. Ok, time now to put my feet up and rest all of my body before I have to take Mandy out. The temp is 91º outside. I'm looking forward to complaining about how cold it is. LOL
