Good morning! It's clear and warm this morning. I got 'hot' yesterday afternoon with temps reaching 80°! We turned the ceiling fan back on. That felt good! Morning exercise was a good workout yesterday. I feel stronger each time. This morning we will go to the gym to do the pneumatic weight machines. The Aldi chili was good. We had it with raw red onion, shredded cheese, and whole wheat baked Tostitos. There's more left that we will have on Sunday. I have my friends from 'table 3' coming from the Salem senior center for lunch. Not sure what we will do for dinner. Bill's friend gave him some ground venison when he came for lunch yesterday. Very happy about that. It's tucked into the freezer for now. No other plans at the moment. Have a terrific day! Waving!

A small stream along the trail into a small pond in the area.
Ended up with 26 for dinner last night. Fortunately we had enough food as the count was to be 21. The only thing that there was left basically in an amount was potatoes. I can't seem to judge the right about for those. I was glad to get home and collapse.
Nothing much going on today except back to reality and work. It is 51° and to be in the mid 70's again today. Thursday morning we will be about 25° colder when we wake up. Still warm days for this time of year.
Ann it is great that you feel the exercising in strengthening you. I haven't do any exercises since I got done with PT and yesterday it sure showed. When it came time to do my hair before the meeting I could not lift my arms to do it. Enjoy your lunch today with friends.
Have a great day.

It's canning day. Today we have to deal with 2 bushels of pears that were donated to us last week - that's a lot of pears. We also have a few other things on the agenda, so another busy morning. Have a great day!

Good morning, everybody.
Ann, I am trying to get some weights into my day -- yesterday I slept too late and didn't get to the gym, but this morning I got on the elliptical and did some reps with free weights. I miss being close enough to go to the walking track. DH is still going out in the evenings to walk.
Bet, what a lovely picture of the stream. I am really enjoying your photos.
Tasty, happy canning today -- that's a lot of pears!
Chris, I haven't tried carrot cake jam but it sounds awfully good. I do love carrot cake.
I'm getting my tetanus booster this afternoon so am hoping my arm won't be too sore. I don't remember it being bad the last time around, 10 years ago. Hopefully that is all the shots I'll need for a while. Last night's dinner was frozen lasagna -- Michael Angelo brand -- and it was pretty good. We'll probably go out tonight since we've about used up all the groceries we had on hand, and will wait to restock until we get moved next week.

My goodness, tasty, that sure is a lot of pears. My mother used to can them and I can remember her sitting there pairing them in the kitchen. Unfortunately they were never my most favorite candy fruit.
I went and got my glasses yesterday. You are going to get a giggle out of this I think. I had been kidding around about wishing that the cat's eye glasses with rhinestones we're still around. Apparently they are! However I went a little less bling but out of character for me. These glasses have a nice amount of glass which should make the wine lunch bifocals (line less trifocals, haha) give me a wider focal vision. And... They are a lovely shade of dark red with blue highlights. This is so out of character for me but got to get my kicks somehow!
Lori, hope you are feeling better today.
We may get close to 80 today which is outrageous for October here. Syracuse did yesterday and it was only one degree below there record!
Bet, I have neglected to tell you just how much I have been enjoying your pictures. This is certainly the time of year for them. We have a small tree right in front of my window there is the most gorgeous red I have seen in ages.
The latest laugh out of my meal service was the other day when my regular server brought me oatmeal she had made for me because the kitchen had not sent the super cereal I usually eat. I found out later from her mom, who is an aide here, that the kitchen has sent a bowl of mashed potatoes instead! Boy whoever they are hiring really do not get it.
Have a good day, everyone.
Birdy

Good morning A cool 63º morning. The sun wasn't over the mountains yet when Mandy and I went out at 6:30. The mornings are pretty dark when we go out now. No one was in the pet area this morning either. I guess we got there earlier than usual. Thats okay, Mandy was quick and I got to my first task of the morning. Bread pudding is now in the oven. I wanted it to be done before it got warm outside. I'm not sure it will turn out very well since the bread I used I wouldn't eat as a sandwich since it has no substance and too moist. I did let it dry out over night at least. Oh well it may still taste good, just not the right texture. I use the recipe in my Better Homes and Garden cookbook that mom gave me as a wedding shower gift.
My favorite kettle corn vendor will be at the foothills WM today. So I will make a trip there for some of the best kettle corn in all of Arizona. I need to go inside and get some more foot pads too. They help with the pain when under my toes but not where they are suppose to go.
A hamburger patty, mashed potatoes and green beans for supper tonight. Lunch is always anyones guess.

Good morning everyone. Got as far as thanking Pippin/Linda for the recipe yesterday, then DH needed my help for something, never did get back here to post. Ann, can’t believe the variety of food that you get to choose from. Sounds like you are both settling in well. Bet, I’m sure enjoying your pictures. You sure live in a pretty area. Glad everyone enjoyed the dinner last night. What do you plan for next month? Tasty, lots of work for you today. I’d come and help you if I could. Love pears. Tell us what you decide to make with them. Chris, I’m sure you’ll enjoy your breakfast after your blood work. I’m always hungry by then. Coffee first for me, hot chocolate for you. Do you have another craft sale this weekend? Sounds like you’re busy stocking up for one. Emr, we’ve never tried the storebought lasagna. Is it very salty? Birdy, you finally got your glasses. I’m trying to picture your frames. Elaine, hope that you got to visit with your sister and that she got her things out of your freezer so you can have more space. Lori, hope your feeling better today and are able to continue with your PT and other therapy. Mamma, at least you know now what is causing your feet problems. Hope the pads work. Hi Tammy and Helen. Making TOHs Beef Barley Soup for supper. Lots of prep work. Will do that this morning, assemble and cook it this afternoon. DD1 is dropping in this afternoon, it’ll be good to visit with her. Her birthday is tomorrow, so will give her her gift when she leaves. Gotta go now, time to start the prep work. Jan

Good morning. Karen asked if I could start walking Coco again just around the block. So I pulled her around again.lol.
My sister Delores starts 5 days off radiation today on her lungs, we could use some prayers again.
I made homemade lasagne for supper last night so we will be having left overs tonight.
Tomorrow night is a potluck so will come up with some kind of casserole for it.
Dh just got up so we need to run to the other grocery store as sales end today. Last night we went and got a turkey at Frys.
Have a great day.
Elaine

Hello and happy Tuesday Ann, enjoy your lunch with friends. So nice that you can do that.
Tasty, hope you had lots of helpers today to get the pears all peeled and processed.
Bet, I made 50 pork chops this morning for the mission. I got up at 5 and had them in the roaster to cook by 5:30. When I began to package them for transport I noticed the center of the roaster had pink meat. They cooked 4 hours, but were not done so I tossed them under the broiler for a few minutes.
Next week is beef stroganoff.
I went over to Care for lunch. The menu said beef tips over rice, but it ended up being beef (ground) stroganoff. that was ok by me, as I love their stroganoff.
The manager of the kitchen bought a Mazda from Care when they decided to sell one of the older cars. She bought it maybe 3 months ago. She lives about 10 miles out in the country and she was driving to work really early yesterday when she hit a deer. It totaled her car. She was fine, thank goodness.
Birdy, you will rock those new glasses, I'm sure!
Mamma, I was interested in what your foot doctor told you because I also have very high instep. it is difficult for me to find comfortable shoes.
Elaine, glad your one sister made it there just fine. I will be praying for your other sister.
Waving to everyone. time for a nappy since I was up at 5.
Oh, by the way, we will be having pork chops for supper as well.

Birdy, I love the description of your new glasses. Isn't it fun to do something out of the ordinary just because you want to! Sounds like pork chops were the meat of the day yesterday. Reminds me I have a pork tenderloin in the freezer that I've been meaning to use. Mamma, glad you got some good advice from your doctor. Sounds like they're already working. I've used silicone inserts in the past that worked like magic. Jan your soup sounds just right for the cooling weather. Enjoy your time with DD today. I'm having ham and bean soup with Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits for supper. Hugs

Good late afternoon, friends. I am feeling a bit better today and was able to get another great workout at PT and OT.
Other than that, nothing new or exciting happening around here. Even our weather is "old" like a Florida summer day---87* with a feel like of 91*. Kind of disappointed last evening when I heard on one of the TV stations that indications are pointing that there might just be one more storm/hurricane we could see yet by the end of next week. Please say it isn't so!!
Chicken Cacciatore, pulled from the freezer, will be dinner. Waving to all! Lori

Just a quick little note about our address if anyone is planning on mailing Christmas cards this year. Our address now is 101 Rainbow Drive, #3468, Livingston, Texas 77399. It has changed from 134 to 101-not sure why but the post office notified us of the need to change. All the rest remains the same.
