Good Sunday, friends! It's a cold start this morning, but forecasters are predicting a warm and sunny day. Right now, I can see the still bright waning moon. We had salmon for dinner last night. Bill ordered grains and corn. I ordered the vegetarian pasta which was linguine and pesto. I put my salmon on top with mushrooms. Apple kuchen was our dessert. We took it in a take out box on Friday so didn't have to use points for it. Tonight is our D4 gathering out in the lobby. Maintenance delivered extra tables and chairs yesterday. I will be helping with the setup this afternoon. I cooked the pork yesterday, and Bill will used it for the bottom layer of the Bavarian meat pie. I will cook the potatoes & apples to mash into the Himmel und Erde topping. (I know that combo sounds strange, but it is really very good!) I prepared one of the toppings yesterday...sweet & sour Bavarian cabbage using a bag of Cole slaw. After I get back from the gym, I will make the browned onions. In between all of that activity, Bill will also cook a turkey chili from a mix we got at Aldi. That will be on the menu Monday. Lori - Hope DH feels better today. We are lucky that we've never had a reaction from the vaccines. I was a bit worried this time because we got the Moderna instead of the Pfizer. Here we go again...a frozen waffle recall!! Bet - Hope your freezer got down to temperature. I really enjoy seeing your pictures. Elza - Good luck with your continuing housing challenge. I admire how you are staying so positive. I love Brussels sprout salad. Elaine - Caesar salads are so good. Bill had a small one with his meal last night. Saying prayers for your dear sisters with their health problems. Jan - Good to see your post. We like hearing from you no matter what the news is!! Mamma - Hope your back is feeling a bit better today. Try Googling 'strengthening core to ease back pain'. You might find some relief. I suggest this because the two instructors I have for classes here have stressed this. Tasty - I remembered to check the freezer before grocery shopping Friday. I found all of the ground pork I needed, and I found ground turkey for Bill's chili! My closet pantry contents are being regularly used, too. Chris - I ordered mushrooms with my salmon hoping to get the chanterelles, but, alas, I got shiitakes. It's time for my vanilla cashew milk yogurt and grape nuts cereal. Gotta watch the clock!! Have a super day! Waving!

Good morning Ann and all who follow. Tbe sky is just starting to lighten so some pretty hints of pink up there right now. Supposed to be another nice day, getting to the mid 60s again. Last night we went to a comedy show at our local theatre. A local comedy group opened the show and were followed by a CBC radio guy, Steve Patterson. He really was quite good - made for a fun evening out. We also managed to get our kitchen appliances ordered yesterday and hopefully it should't be too long before we get delivery. They didn't cost quite as much as I had been expecting which was nice. Last night's supper was some soup from the freezer - quick a d easy before heading out to the show. Have a lovely day.

Pavilion above the beach. In the winter it is an ice skating rink under the pavilion.
I am in a bad mood at the moment so don't feel like typing. My work has forced us to us outlook for email and now I have to use a long password to get into my own computer. I am not very happy. Have been 2 hours trying to fix it and can't.
Have a great day. I am going to go start cooking for tomorrow so maybe it will put me in a better mood.

Good morning. A chilly 59º this morning. My foot is 100% better but my back is terrible, however Mandy and I walked to the pet area this morning. I figured it would hurt the foot or cure the back. Neither happened. hehehe But it was a nice cool walk and Mandy loved it. She loves to walk and we don't walk enough.
Wouldn't you know it podiatrist on Monday and a foot that no longer hurts. I'm going to see him anyway to check it out. No church today since it is painful to move and I grunt and groan when I move. hehehe I'll watch my MN church on line this morning. My previous pastor is back for most of the winter, and I love him. He is 100 times better than what we have at our church here.
Nothing planned for the day, just sit on heat to heal.
Ann, if I could move I would work on my core muscles. The problem started when my foot got bad. Now maybe my back will heal since the foot is better.
Blessings to all.

Oh dear, I am going to have to start making a bigger pot of coffee now that the mornings are cooler. It surely didn't take long to empty the half a pot of coffee. Maybe that's a sign that I should get away from the computer and get the bed made before online church starts.

Good afternoon, friends! Spent most of my morning trying to fill out paperwork on-line for an upcoming November doctor appointment I have. The site is not user-friendly, and it gave me fits. DH said he would handle it since my fingers were having a rough time--and he had the same issues and agreed that the site has to be one of the worse he has seen! I will put in a call to the office sometime this week and ask for assistance. When I finished that, I had DH give me a stack of medical and insurance papers that need to be sorted in order to be placed into my filing cabinet. So happy to have that job done.
As for DH, he had another rough night--sweats instead of chills. He tried to do a few things around the house this morning, but he was really pushing himself and sweating up a storm. He had hoped to go outside and do something in the garage, but I told him no, he needed to rest so he'd hopefully be able to take me to OT tomorrow morning. I made him sit in his Lazy Boy chair, under the overhead fan, and he was out like a light. Hoping he can catch a few hours of sleep, the sweating breaks, and he feels a little better when he gets up.
Was hoping to mix up cookie dough and together we bake some cookies but moving that project to maybe tomorrow. No cooking here today. I had a frozen waffle for breakfast and my lunch is a raspberry fig bar. Dinner is going to be a bowl of turkey rice soup that we never ate yesterday.
So enjoyed hearing yesterday from Jan and knowing all is well with her!
Ann, sounds like a busy but fun afternoon planned for the D4 gathering!
Tasty, what a nice evening you and hubby had last night. Glad you were also able to get your kitchen appliances ordered.
(((Bet))), praying the day gets better for you! Thanks for sharing another beautiful picture of the colors in your area.
mamma, glad that the foot is better, but so sorry to see that the back is still acting up for you. Enjoy your church services from back home today.
Time for me to do my OT exercises then see what football games are on the TV for me to watch. Hope to get back here later. Lori

Good morning everyone. Ann, your food always sounds yummy, even though some of it I can no longer eat. What exactly is Himmel und Erde? Sounds like a German dish. Tasty, another nice day for you. We have rain and fog. Oh how I used to love live theatre. Can’t go now because of the crowds and noise. We had soup from the freezer last night too. Today I’ll make a chicken dish, from Canadian Living. Already started to prep, a bit at a time. DH wants mashed potatoes with it, he’ll take care of that. Bet, oh, how I wish you could find another job, one that allows you to have the flexible hours you want. Mamma, Hi. Lori, I’m so sorry to hear of DHs problems with the vaccines. Don’t blame him for wanting to quit receiving them in the future. We both had ours last Thursday. Flu and Covid. Both had sore arms for a day or two, I had the chills that night, only lasted for an hour or so. I hope he gets over this soon. My DH helps me prepare meals too. A raspberry fig bar for lunch? Yum. I had a cinnamon bun for breakfast. That was yummy too. Not much going on here today. Rain and fog, dismal. A good day to clean out papers. Lots getting shredded. Trying to make it easier for DDs. They’d just shred them anyway. Ok, back to it. Jan

Back again, lots of breaks. Tasty, I prefer the older Can. Living recipes too. I think this I an old one, can’t remember when we had it last, Glazed Balsamic Chicken. Have ‘yum’ written on it, so hope we still like it, tastes change. Elaine, I’ve been wondering about your sister, were they able to get on their way? If so l hope you’re enjoying your time with her. Today is sunny with blue skies. High only 80. I'm just about to make a pasta salad so it can sit awhile before supper. I have an abundance of cauliflower left after the dip ran out so I'll be adding that and whatever else is still available from the veggie bin. Sorry your job is giving you fits, Bet. Sure hope you can get your freezers up and running soon. What a headache! Lori, sorry to hear about DH covid reaction. I must get those shots next week. Mamma, hope you can stay off your feet for awhile. It'll be good to have your doctor take a look. I'm going to add a warm ham and cheese sandwich to my salad tonite. Maybe a dish of ice cream for dessert. Hugs.

It's half time. It's sure not looking good.
Jan- my sister Shar is on her way, they left yesterday. It's scary as they are driving straight through. She fell on Friday, which isn't good as she had hip surgery and the hole not healing. Her and her dh have a place here in the park just down the street from us.
I still need to come up with something for supper.
Helen- I need to make a pasta salad. Thanks for the idea.
There is our monthly birthday party at 2 at clubhouse. I wouldn't go but Karen is 75 today and she is hosting. I didn't have to make a cake as she was ordering one.

Good afternoon. I should not have sat down here now I am loosing motivation. Three dozen pork chop chops have been seared in the fat rendered from the lardon trimming I made. Green beans are cooked and the almondine sauce is ready is done so all I have to do tomorrow is reheat it all together. I need to go to town as I still think I need more for the gravy and am out of onions. Also need more butter and heavy duty aluminum foil. I guess that means I need to get dressed. Still have 8# of potatoes to peel and would like to get those done today but ambition is sort of wondering away. At the moment the kitchen is all cleaned up. The worst was cleaning the stove of all the spattered grease from doing the meat.
It has been a beautiful day out and is 70° in the sun right now. I should be outside cleaning up for winter.
May be back later to comment if I can think clearing later.

Jan and Tasty, I too like Canadian Living magazine, esp. their recipes---I try to look at their website once a month. I found it funny that you mentioned the magazine as I just was online last night looking at the magazine. The very first issue I saw was at the home of my Aunt and Uncle in Merlin, Ontario many, many years ago.
Helen, one day while I was in the hospital, I had a pasta salad on my lunch tray---nothing but oily tasteless Now almost two months ago I think I might make one next weekend when DD and Lilith visit.
Elaine, unfortunately, the Lions/Viking game was not televised down here today, so I didn't get to see the game, but sorry, I was happy to hear the Lions won at the end. I will be watching your Vikings play Thursday night as that game will be on Prime.
Bet, sounds like it was a good day in the kitchen. I'm sure your meal for the Lions group will be enjoyed by all tomorrow evening. Were you able to fix your computer for work?&nbs
Chris, just saw on the NBC World News a segment about a guy bringing his piano playing to every city in Vermont---today he was in Springfield. Did you happen to see him?
I am happy to report that after DH got up from his nap earlier this afternoon, he's doing so much better! He appears to be out of his Covid Fog! After 48 hours, the sweating and chills are gone, and his appetite is back. Amen! Lori
