Good rainy morning from Vermont.
It has been raining a full 24 hours here now. It can stop anytime!
Was a good day yesterday. The painting class with DDIL was fun. We did quilt squares on wood. I did 2. A Bears Paw and a Maple Leaf. I did a stencil on top of the Bear Paw of a dragon fly. Dan then took me out to dinner at Black Rock The place where you cook your steak on a 700° rock. He had the steak on a rock and I had maple glazed salmon.
Thank you all for the Birthday wishes!

Good morning! We were 'rocketed' out of sleep last night with some BIG thunderstorms. Right now more showers with possible imbedded thunderstorms predicted for a few hours. We had a quiet day...watched Tubi for awhile...Columbo. I love watching old shows...I smile at the technology!!! Speaking of technology, I missed going to the board games activity yesterday afternoon because I was helping Bill set up his new phone. He still has to fill in his contacts, and then we will set up his iPad! Soup last night was delicious. This morning I'm going to exercise class at 7:45. Bill has signed up too, but, since he loves to read in bed, he might not get up!! Not sure about dinner. Hope to get back to chat. Enjoy your day!

Good morning! I'm happy to be off today and although I have things to get done, I'm starting out slow.
We enjoyed our overnight in Abbeville with my sister & DBIL. He smoked burgers for us on Saturday night -- so, so good! And on Sunday he made breakfast of fried eggs on toast with my sister's homemade bread. Yum!
Now we're back in the hotel and DH is back at work. I am meeting with a realtor at 3:00 about the rental house we're looking at and I'm pondering going to Verizon to replace my phone. It's old and slow and has been aggravating me for a while so I think today is going to be the day to get that done. First, though, I plan to call my BF in Kentucky for a chat, and then swing by the house to check for something I think I left in the garage Saturday. Pretty exciting, right? LOL
Since we have a microwave here, I think I'll stop by the store for some of the Ready Pasta that Ann's been using. I have a jar of Mezzetta sauce on hand, so meatballs and a bagged salad sounds like dinner to me!

Good morning. What a nice morning it is. Sunny and 68º. We are finally out of the hundreds and cooler mornings.
Yesterday when I got home from church and lunch, my golf cart had a totally flat tire. My security camera showed a blue vehicle in front of my house while I was gone, but that is all. For some reason it did not record. So I don't know much more than that. Mike and I filled the tire and I checked all over it with soapy water, including the bead (rim) and the valve stem and I couldn't find a leak. But to be sure I don't end up getting stranded in the park I'll have to call a shop to get the cart and check the tire. Yesterday was also the the three year anniversary of our fire. So my day was tough enough without adding the flat tire to the day.
This morning Mandy and I walked to the pet area. I should have taken the car. By the time we got home my foot and back about had me in tears. But it was such a nice morning that I really wanted to give it a try and walk. Not the smartest thing I've ever done. hehehe
I have a load of clothes in the washer and at 8 I'll make my service call,. Now that more and more birds are coming I may not get the quickest service. Thankfully my car is small and doesn't use much gas. It's just hard to find shade for Mandy that the car can get to.
Time for more coffee.

Good morning again. It is 38° which was the low this morning and it is raining off and on but to continue all day. Even though the weather isn't the greatest I decided definitely to not work today. I have have spent quite a bit of time this morning trying to rearrange my schedule for the week. My plan was to go the high peak area tomorrow but they are having rain and snow mixed until Thursday so had to redo my entire schedule.
Besides that the second batch of Sweet Potato Rolls for Monday night are baked and cooling before the hit the freezer. When I get off here I am going to the shop to work. There is suppose to be a break in the rain between 1 and 3 so hopefully I can get the pumps pulled from the pond and the fountain. There are also some nice geraniums in pots that I might decide to keep so should at least get them into the greenhouse. Friday is suppose to be a nice day actually sunny and around 60° so hoping to get the greenhouse down that day. I have an early Dr. appointment so should have most of the day free.
Ann,it is always nice to get new electronic equipment. I have been having problems with my phone which I need for work. When I got home yesterday I was contemplating setting it back to Factory new and start over. However I decided to just delete the 2 programs I was having problems with and reload them and it fixed everything. Did the same on my tablet and again everything is working great. Hope you enjoyed the exercise class. I really need to get back to exercising.
Chris, Is there snow this week in the higher elevations? Nice that Dan took you out on the town for your birthday last night. Good that you had time to spend with your DDIL at the painting class. Sounds interesting. We don't have anything like that around here. I guess someone has started a knitting group but I don't have time to sit around a girls bull session on knit. I don't even have time to do it here at home and if they are instructing I could probably do the instructing.
Elza, Good luck with the realtor regarding the possible rental. It is amazing how many meals you could do in the micro wave. When DH, DGD and I used to travel to conventions that were a week long I actually packed an electric frying pan in a suitcase and between that and the microwave in the room we did a lot of meals. I am sure the time spent with your Sister this weekend was a nice relief from what I am sure some of the stress you are going through.
Mamma, sorry about the flat. You may have somehow broke the bead on the tire the last time you were out and didn't realize it. Hope you get quick service.
I need to get to the shop. Will be back to read later.
Bet

Hello there friends! Hope this finds you having a good day!
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Day wishes to Tasty and Jan. Wishing you both a lovely day as you celebrate with family/friends.
Chris, sounds like your birthday painting class and dinner were nice. Yes, I agree, 24 hours of rain is enough---time to stop indeed!
Ann, sounds like you and Chris wanted to share that rain this morning! I personally don't mind listening to rain in the evening and find it soothing, but for some reason, I don't enjoy it in the morning, esp. if it's loud and wakes me up. I too sometimes enjoy watching the "old" TV shows---the other day I ran across an episode of the Honeymooners and then an episode of I've Got a Secret---enjoyed them both. Bet, what a pretty picture! Hope you are enjoying your day!
Elza, OMG, what a mess you and DH are dealing with. Sending you both hugs and I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
mamma, what a rough day yesterday finding a flat tire on the golf cart while having to relive your fire from three years ago---like salt on a wound. Hugs. Hope that you'll not need to wait long for a service call.
No plans to do any cooking here today. Instead, we'll reheat the butternut squash soup and finish off the corn beef with another sandwich. Simple and easy is in order with a late OT appointment this afternoon. Waving to all! Lori

Good morning. It was a long night last night, so not very motivated this morning. Let's just say Zoey went to bed without a diaper on.
I do have book club this morning. I need to really think if I want to keep doing this. The books we read are just not my type.
This afternoon some good friends get back and then tomorrow Linda gets back for a month. Bruce needs to go hook up her battery in her vehicle today . Yesterday we got the cover off that and golf cart and he hooked up the batteries on the cart and has that charging.
Elza- I hope the place you want to rent works out. It's hard enough being displaced.
Chris- it sounds like you had a nice birthday yesterday.
Bet- I hope you get done what you want to today.
Mamma- our golf cart tire was flat last week. Dh pumped it up and so far so good. So who knows.
Elaine

Happy Thanksgiving, Tasty! I know you'll have a lovely time with friends and great food. Elza, awesome that you are moving right along with finding temporary housing and managing repairs on your house. Bet, I'm happy to hear you have today free to prepare your flowers and gardens for winter. The Lion's dinner must be next week since you're cooking ahead for the freezer. Elaine, I agree it's not much fun to discuss books you don't really like. I had the same experience a few times with Book Clubs I thought I'd enjoy. Lori, I'm happy to hear you have an easy supper all lined up with goodies from another day. Good planning. Mamma, what a headache when you're dealing with car/cart repairs. Ann, I like old movies, too, especially from the 40's and 50s. Love to see house decorating styles and how different electronics have made our lives. Chris, I'm so glad you and your hubby had a nice dinner out. I'd opt for the salmon also. Supper tonite will be a hot ham and cheese sandwich on a roll with slaw and leftover asparagus. Sweet dreams

Good afternoon. Well as usual I don't know why I plan on doing anything. I haven't left the kitchen. When I took the roll dough out of the refrigerator this morning that I had food that either needed to be used today or tossed. Since I had a 5 o'clock meeting tonight I decided soup and sandwich would be good. Saturday I receive a soup ingredients in a jar for a Christmas gift. I love the soup and make it quite often so since I had roast beef salad left for sandwiches it that I with get that used up beef used up. However I don't have any bread in the house so decided to make a new to me loaf of white bread which is in the oven right now. There were a few mushrooms so have the stuffed and will also cook them for dinner. A few grape tomatoes that are going to be sauteed with garlic and balsamic vinegar to have with hopefully my sausage stuffed acorn squash tomorrow night. I have taken cream cheese out to soften several times and have pumpkin defrosted for I don't know how long. Kept changing my mind which recipe I wanted to make. I have everything ready to mix up and as soon as the bread comes out of the oven I will put together and bake a Cream Cheese filled Pumpkin bread.
My winter birds have been coming to my deck for a couple of weeks now but since I hadn't cleaned up and gotten everything off the deck for winter I hadn't put up any feeders. As I sat down here to type the chickadees where here looking again so I went out and filled one feeder and boy are they happy.
Lori, love it when I see that colored print as I go from post to post. It is a great sign that you are on. I think some of the simplest means are the best. By the time I labor over a more complex meal I am not interested in eating anymore. So happy you are on the mend and can be with us again.
Ann, about all I watch on TV is old shows from the 50's and 60's. Some of the newer ones that aren't on anymore I am watching again so this will be the 3rd time. I have gone though all of Hogan's Hero's and Mash.
Elaine, something tells my Zoey had a little accident last night. Not pleasant. I am not a reader so book club wouldn't interest me but if I wasn't I still wouldn't enjoy reading thing that I am not interested in.
Helen. Yes Lions' meeting is a week from tonight. It is one of those meals where everything need to be done on Monday. I have to do some searching and see if I can start my meat on Sunday. As far as old movies there is one series from the mid 50's that I can't find anywhere and I it is the first movie I ever remember seeing and the was Ma and Pa Kettle. I think there were2 or 3 movies.
Bread is out of the oven so need to get the Cream Cheese filled Pumpkin Bread going.
Enjoy your evening.

Hi ! Good to have you back Lori. Chris, it sounds like a lovely birthday. Elza, hope things work out for the rent house. Elaine, I have never been in a book club. It never appealed to me at all. I am moody about what to read and never wanted to be told what I had to read. Mamma, hope you can get the cart tire repaired quickly.
I am baking some pork chops for supper. It is called stewed pork chops, it is just the meat, diced potatoes, 1 envelope of dry onion soup and some water, then baked. I will find some veggie to go with it. I have it ready to go into the oven, but DH said Bob is coming over so the 2 guys can sit on the back deck and visit. I will plan on eating closer to 6:30.
Today was a typical Monday-grocery shopping and laundry. No plans for tomorrow except taking the food to church. I am making cranberry chicken, green beans, and had planned potato wedges-the frozen variety but never saw them at the store, so opted for sweet potato fries. We'll see how that works out. We are able to use the kitchen again so they can keep things warm in the ovens. If there is enough I may serve the same thing for our supper.
Houston broke a record for high temps. It has been very warm and sunny all day. Not sure if our town broke the record or not.
I don't watch much tv, but I did see that Reba has a new show starting this Friday. I did not watch her first show when it came on originally, but we started watching it a few years ago and enjoyed it. I set it to record since we will be at bible study. We are meeting at someone else's house this week. The next week will be our monthly pot luck, and it will be at someone else's home.
Waving to everyone! Have a nice evening and sleep well.

I was able to go see the rental house this morning and really liked it. Very clean and nice, and even though it's small (1370 sq ft), it's bigger than a hotel suite! I met with the realtor and got answers to my questions, and now the insurance office is checking to see if they will cover the rent & utilities. It's got to be less than paying the hotel room.
DH wanted to go out so we walked down to JPeters (one of the nice things about living downtown) in time to order from their Early Bird menu. I'll fix the pasta & salad tomorrow night.
