Good morning friends.
I am off in a bit to Foxwoods with Brian. My 2 GF's bought us tickets on the bus trip to the casino for my birthday. Brian and I are going to the Pequot Museum for most of the day. I have been there but he has not. It is one of the most fascinating places I have ever been to. They have recreated a village from the early 1600's from drawings of the early settlers.
They will give us a $70 dollar card to gamble with and that is all I will use. We will do some shopping too.
Have a great day all.
Oh so yesterday while I was in class (Level 1's) a police officer walks into the class. He does not speak to me just walks in a sets down. A few minutes later he gets up and comes over to me. Asks me where Mark (the instructor) is. I tell him "Mark is out for the week for his daughters wedding". He goes over and picks up one of the blankets that is on the table by me and walks out with it. Time goes by and Level 2 students arrive. (The room is cold by afternoon) One of the girls asks where her blanket is. I told her "If it is the black fuzzy one Officer C took it out." She says "Oh he keeps hiding it on me. I don't like that he does that. He puts it on the bookcase" She goes into the outer room and the blanket is on top of the 7 foot tall bookcase. She jumps up to grab it (she is a shorty) and it comes down on her head. He had wrapped 6 text books in it. It knocked her to the floor and almost knocked her out. She was crying by the time I got around the corner to her. Another student was with her. We called the Assistant Director right off, he sent her to the nurse and the nurse sent her to the ER for possible concussion. To say the least I was livid that an officer of the law would do such a thing. The girls mother immediately filed a complaint with the police chief. The Tech Center filed one also.

Good morning! It's a bit warmer this morning, but it should get cooler as the day progresses. We had a nice lunch with Duchess' new 'parents'. Kathy showed me a few pictures so I was happy. Jeff found out that he will have the same spine operation that our Birdy had! We stayed out of the apartment while the housekeeper was doing her thing. While reading in the lobby, our Amazon deliveries arrived so I had fun 'unpacking'! I did make soup yesterday afternoon, and we had it with fresh eggrolls that I got from Aldi. The soup was good; the eggrolls were just OK. (I like the frozen ones from Aldi better.) I will be busy today making Chicken Tarragon for our anniversary dinner. I found some lemon ricotta cheesecake squares to have with the fresh strawberries. Thank you all for the good wishes. Lori - Good to hear from you. The recipes you & DH are making sound good. Chris - What was that man thinking? I'm glad appropriate and quick action to deal with him happened. Have a wonderful time at Foxwoods and the museum. I would do exactly the same at Foxwoods...just spending the voucher...hope you win!!! Bet - Cute picture and the northern lights one was spectacular. We went on the balcony last night, but only saw a green tinge. Elza - You are staying so positive! Hugs! Hope everyone has a banner Saturday. Waving to all!

Just finished getting the sweet potatoes rolls formed in the the oven to rise. Once they are baked I will head to the shop to get that completely set up for winter. I am sure I need to water out there. Have one more seed rack to put together and get the rest of the lights up. Plans are to get the rest of the plants out of the greenhouse between saving some and tossing some and get all the supplies back in the garage which mean the start of a major garage cleaning for winter. Hope to get all of the hoses picked up also. If a accomplish half of that I will probably be lucky. Yesterday late afternoon I got the major portion of the shopping done for the Lions' dinner and did a couple of hour job in the same town. Was home a little after 5. Put things away and had dinner by 6:30. That was a record as the past 2 weeks it has be 8 o'clock or after when I have been eating dinner. I was in bed by 7:30. It felt so good. I figured up my time and miles yesterday. Since a week ago this past Monday I have worked in the 2 weeks 60 hours and driven just short of 800 miles. Since I took yesterday and today off I will have to work tomorrow. Have a few jobs that have to be completed by tomorrow night. This 2 weeks will be the biggest pay check I have ever gotten in the 5 years I have been working for the company. Hopefully things will let up now. The wind is wicked here. It was 57°when I got up about 5 and at 7 it has dropped to 50°. Columbus Day weekend is usually the peak of our color but at this rate there isn't going to be any leaves left on the trees.
Chris, have a great time today. I think that officer was pretty bold. It sounds like the teacher needs a little bit of reprimanding also if this has been going on. Ann, what exciting things did you get from Amazon. I am sure you have mentioned what you had ordered but my mind has been a bit of a blank lately. Nice you saw some new pictures of Duchess. Enjoy your anniversary dinner and again congratulations. Elza, enjoy your visit with you sister this weekend. Great that the house is finally secured. Is it safe to get into the house and get things out. I would be considering getting a storage unit and getting things out of there as the house is going to be cold and damp and mold could be a concern. Might want to speak to your agent or adjuster about that. I have a feeling unfortunately it is going to be some time before the repairs are finished. Elaine, I haven't typed my minutes yet either and I need to get them email out so guess I should add that to my list. Sorry about the UTI. Hope the meds work quickly. Helen, I think I most everything done yesterday. The everything is never done around here. Lori, great to read that you were able to be up and do some cooking. Hope that is a good sign but don't overdo. Tasty, have a great sale today. Doing anything special for thanksgiving? I am sure you were exhausted after yesterday but able to relax and enjoy the concert. Birdy, missed you yesterday. Hope you get those new glasses soon. Is you friend's mother going to the Lions' Eye Institute in Slingerland?
Mamma, sorry you are loosing your neighbors hope you get some good new neighbors or better yet you find a place that you like that fits your needs.
Rolls are in the oven.

I have been missing in action for a few days. No good excuse, I have been reading though. Things never seem to work the way you want them to.
I did not get my new glasses yesterday since the woman taking me had the presence of mind to call the optometrist office to see if we needed an appointment. It turns out that they were closing early yesterday. But they are going to be open on Monday, a holiday! So we are planning to head there Monday morning!
Happy 50th Anniversary Ann and Bill! Many more!
Happy Birthday, Chris!
The neighbor who takes me to the doctor has to take her mother to Albany again for her eyes on my appointment day this week coming. I feel so bad for her since this has been coming on for a long time. They have been driving the four hour round trip for at least twice or three times a week in the last three months. She's not sure she has improved enough to make it worthwhile. Very discouraging.
I have a ride for my appointment this week with the neurological surgeon. I am very apprehensive about what he has to tell me but at least I don't have to wait months to find out.
Winter is finally coming I am afraid. We have had hundreds of Canada geese taking off and flying low over us every morning. I know many stay around here during the winter but it's still looks a lot like fall. I can't believe that we actually have a possibility of snow in the higher elevations later this week.
I am relieved that those of you in Florida seem to have come through okay with the storm. Elza, I am so sorry about your damage. Things seem to have been moving along for you but still. I hope you are back in your house fast. My nephew in Palm Bay came through well although they were pretty much on the edge.
Have a good day everyone.

Chris, I forgot to mention that incident with the police officer. Sounds to me like a classic case of harassment. I hope her family brings charges against him. Someone like that should never be on the police force.

Good morning. What a beautiful morning for a change. Sunny, no humidity and 73º. It will still be a hot afternoon but I'll enjoy having the doors and windows open this morning.
Just a quick run to Fry's for the milk that is on sale. Then start my weekend cleaning. That is all for today.
Yesterday I made a big kettle of beef vegetable soup. There are 6+ meals in the freezer now and two meals in the fridge for lunch today and maybe tomorrow.

Good Afternoon, Ann, happy anniversary to you both! Enjoy the meal. I love chicken and tarragon together.
Chris, happy birthday to you and yours. That police officer sounds very immature, not a goof fit to be an officer imo.
Cute porcupine Bet!
I worked today, just got home. I took some ground turkey out to thaw, not sure what I will make with it. first a nap!
Waving to all. We still have nice weather-warm and low humidity.
