Good early Dark everyone.
Today is my last day with Criminal Justice class. They are having a birthday party for one of the students so I offered to make the cake. Done. I will frost it when I get to class to make sue it is cool enough.
Today is my DDL's birthday too so we are going to do a dinner tonight for her and me as mine is Sunday.
Was such a relief to hear from you, Lori. My DDIL's Aunts live in Venice Beach and they marked themselves safe but we have not heard anything else since.
Bet- I love your pictures! I even recognized where one was taken!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! It's cool in here. The heat kicked on last night...way different from the oil/steam radiators we are used to. This was a swoosh of hot air!! Last night's supper was semi-homemade. I cooked a batch of multi-grains and ordered up the salmon dinners with roasted veggies and mushroom. I made bowls. Yum! Since we already had salads in the fridge, I ordered cups of fruit...we got sliced strawberries. Will invent a dessert for Saturday. Will see what is available when we go to the market this morning. Today is our 50th wedding anniversary! I will be making our favorite meal...Chicken Tarragon for dinner Saturday or Sunday night. Duchess' new parents are joining us for lunch today. I may have another half falafel wrap or a small salad. Thinking of having soup tonight. Have a great day. Hope to get back later this afternoon...time will tell. Waving!

We (the canning group) are having a baking morning. Making pumpkin pies, butter tarts and apple crumbles. When I get home, I still have some loaves to make and then this evening, hubby and I are going to a 10 year celebration for our local, volunteer radio station. Have a great day.

Good morning again. I have been busy since I posted earlier. I have done the shopping list for the Lions October dinner and put in an order to pick up late this afternoon at Walmart. I decided today I was going to get that out of the way so will do a quick job in the same town so mileage to go grocery shopping is paid for. LOL I have plenty to keep me busy here this morning and need to get at them. Mostly cooking that has to be done or I will have science experiment in my refrigerate and freezer burned meat in the freezer. Work will have to wait until Sunday.
I will try to get back later and make comments.

Good morning. And a nasty humid morning it is. When Mandy and I just got home our hair was wet. Yes, it was that damp out there. YUCK. But we got a chance to visit with Mary and Emily for a short bit.
Last night my friends behind me told me that they have their place up for sale. They are moving to California to be closer to her new grand-baby and family. It set me into such a depressed state that I went to bed early. Only God knows what will move in to their place. I have to get out of here.
Today Lynda, Debbie and I are heading out for a short bit this morning. Then home to weigh my options of where to go to get out of here. I'll bounce some idea's off of them. Congratulations Ann and Bill.

Hello my friends! Much to my surprise, my doctor appointments for today have all been cancelled. Doing as the officials have asked to not travel around "sightseeing"(and not mentioned on the recorded messages I got), I assume the reason so has to be related one way or another to Milton storm damage. Having a good day, so this morning with DH as my helper, we put into the slow cooker some chicken breasts to make a balsamic chicken dinner. Sides are new to us---green beans with a garlic herb butter and ping pong potatoes. If I don't run out of zip, plans are to make frozen peanut butter pie (DH is excited). Every recipe, except the chicken, I've had for years, but never made---decided it's now or toss them. Crossing my fingers I can tell you later that they were worth saving all these years!
Publix has reopened with limited hours today, so DH is going to run over shortly to get a few items we are low on. I was hoping for the Amish farm market, but they are closed. Lowe's and Home Depot the same. Banks, credit unions, and post office still closed. DH his supposed to have jury duty on Monday, but at this time there is no way to contact them and see if he's still needed.
Found out a friend of ours was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon as Milton approached. Her daughter called to let me know that she hadn't been eating anything for several days. Suzy was diagnosed with a gall stone and UTI and released this morning. Hope that on the weekend I will be able to make her a pot of soup to enjoy now and later if she freezes some.
Ann, congrats to you and Bill! Being married 50 years is rare yet wonderful news in our world today.
Chris, happy birthday wishes to your DDIL and "early" wishes to you! So nice that you are able to celebrate together with a special family dinner.
Waving to all at this time, wishing each of you a beautiful day! Lori

Congratulations and happy celebrations to Ann & DH, and Chris & DDIL! Good things on the menu for everybody, sounds like.
We have a tarp on the roof, so our house is finally covered. I was able to go through all the things in my dresser drawers that DH had pulled out, and got rid of most of them. I need to do some laundry today and then start getting things sorted. Due to a scheduling glitch, because we thought we would be going out of town this weekend, we don't have a room here Saturday night so we are going to my sister's in Abbeville to stay with them. We'll check back in here on Sunday and be here probably through the end of October. Just found out, there's a rental house available by then that looks like a good fit for us. So, things keep moving along and that is encouraging.
Mamma, saying a prayer that you will find the information you need and have clarity in making decisions, just like you did before.
Lori, sounds like your area is bouncing back quickly and that is great. Very glad to hear that y'all are continuing to do well. Right after Helene came through, I found out how it feels to be the object of the "Looky-Lous" driving around to see what damage they could find. Not a situation I want to be in again.
Bet, I saw pictures from folks here of the Northern Lights but we are right downtown and I'm sure there was too much light to see them well. Honestly, I was already in bed when I saw the pictures on FB and I was not motivated enough to get up and try to look for myself. 😄

Good morning.
Happy 50th anniversary to you Ann and also Bill.
Chris- happy birthday to both of you. Have fun celebrating tonight.
Mamma- I hope you get a good neighbor. Sue's place across the street has been for sale over a year, so we still don't have a new neighbor.
Lori- we are all glad you have stopped in and let us know how you are doing. Is your daughter and granddaughter okay?
Elza- that has to be a huge relief having your house covered.
Bet- when I saw your post about Lions it reminded me I still haven't done the minutes.lol.
I am feeling punky. I have last night's supper dished to do. Dh has started laundry but I have no umf. I am on antibiotics for a UTI. Fun, fun.
Jean- glad to see you are still reading.

Happy 50th Anniversary Ann and Bill! Wonderful you have had each other all these years. Many more!
Happy Birthday, Chris! Nice celebration you're having with family.
Bet, hope you get done with all you want at work and home. Momma, hope you have a useful discussion while you're out with your friends. Just saying what you're feeling out loud will help. Elza, It'll be good to get away to your sister's this weekend. What a relief to get that tarp on the house. Elaine, it's probably the meds making you tired and listless. Hope you feel better soon. Lori, I'm so glad to hear you made it through the storm in pretty good shape. Hope your health continues to improve. Supper here will be French Bread Pizza with my added ingredients. Happy Weekend!

So when I have time and am a bit more calmed down I will tell you about today. Suffice it to say there is a police officer in Springfield VT that is now loosing his badge. I was livid. The students were awesome!
