Good morning! It's a cloudy and cool start to the day. Lunch with friends was very enjoyable. Wait staff recognizes them now and we all enjoy fun interactions with them. Most of us had turkey melt sandwiches...freshly roasted turkey, crisp bacon, baby spinach, and cheddar cheese between toasted wheat bread. They were so large, we all took half home! Supper last night was Bill's choice...scallops, grain of the day, and succotash along with small side salads. Will have lunch with friends again today. No other plans at the moment. Still waiting for the 'floor guys' to come. Enjoy your day. Waving!

Good morning. Passing through quickly since I'm hoping to get some online legal stuff done.
I was supposed to go with my nextdoor neighbor to get new glasses today but she has had to drive her mother back to Albany for a second day in a row because of her eye treatments for a cornea. Unfortunately, it looks like she will have to have a transplant. Seems like everyone I know is having some sort of problem lately.
Hope everyone is out of the line of this new hurricane. I hope the season for this ends very soon.
Have a good day, all.

Good late morning friends.
Ann- It is pouring rain here today. So good to hear that you had such a good time with your friends for lunch.
Birdy- Sorry you could not make your appointment for new glasses. I hope you can get our legal stuff all done.
We start the process all over again tonight. I hope we don't get there tomorrow and find out he is rescheduled again! I will be vocal! LOL
Tasty- I want to try that Spiced cake. It looks good. For some reason I had to turn on the heat last night! We were both so cold! LOL
We are going to the Therapy pool later today now that Dan has his pass we are going to make use of it more often.

Good morning. Out and back and a load of laundry in the machine. A quick trip to UPS to return my faulty electric embossing machine. It doesn't have even pressure to cut or emboss correctly. I have tried for days to get it right thinking it was a learning curve. But no matter what or how I did things it just would not work. So I am returning it and getting a different brand. I need the machine and I just can't do the manual one anymore. Then I would like to stop at the new $tree and see if I missed anything the day before. hehehe
Left over riblets from AppleBee's for supper and a lettuce salad for lunch. That is if i decide to make any of it. Yesterday I hardly ate anything for a meal. Too bad I can't skip the sweets.
Hot today and hotter each day through Sunday. We are in a very high heat spread above normal for the next two to three weeks.

Good morning. I walked Blue again as Kathy pulled a ham string. I am thinking I will be walking him for a few days. It's okay as it gets me out walking.
I have swim class in 1/2 hour. I want to not go. I am feeling lazy. When I walk Blue we don't just walk the park once as Kathy and him walk it twice so she can get her steps in.
Tonight, I am the hostess at the potluck. Dh wants to make the casserole. My idea is to boil up some cheese tortellini and put in pasta sauce with browned hamburger., something easy.
We are playing pinochle tonight. I am excited as it's been months since we've had 8 people sign up.
Ann- how fun to have friends again for lunch today. Enjoy the visit.
Birdy- I hope you get your computer stuff done without any hitches.
Chris- I also want to make that cake that Tasty posted. Did you try that chicken cordon Blue recipe?
Mamma- we had windows and doors open but I am going to shut everything up before leaving for swimming. I see where these temps will be with us until the middle of October.

G'Day Mates....Another wet day - thunderboomers expected this afternoon. Ann, those turkey melts sound wonderful - I think I will go search out some turkey breasts to cook. Which scallops do you use and how do you cook them. My DH prefers the little ones (Bay?) and I just saute' them in garlic butter. Birdy, it seems that it goes in waves with everybody being busy....then all of a sudden everybody is free again. Here, it seems busy is at the beginning of the month and then at the end of the month. Chris, do they not have a pre-op call that they make to you? Is there a number for you to call to check to see if your procedures are on schedule? Mamma, I love the riblets from AppleBees. My favorite menu item. I also love their French Onion Soup. Well, our visit with the nutritionist went alright yesterday. She laid it out - kinda and gave some book titles for me to investigate at the bookstore. I might go this afternoon, but if the rain is bad, maybe not.
Good morning Elaine. Those in the line of the hurricane - be safe. tm

Hello All. Apparently, it rained and knocked out the electric for awhile during the night. Woke up to wet streets and house alarm beeping. Wish I hadn't missed it. Lucky you, tm. I love a rainy day. I saw just a headline about Helene headed for FL. Good grief, not again! Elaine, I would gladly play pinochle with you. Used to play it for hours with my Grandma. She also taught us Canasta and Hearts (Spades?) I think it was. And my favorite Euchre. What a patient woman she was. Haven't played for many years now. Have fun! Birdy, how disappointing that you missed your eye doctor visit. Awful when you get all psyched up (and in my case get dressed) and then it gets postponed. Spaghetti with salad and garlic bread is on the menu for supper here tonite. Big hugs

We are waiting for Helene -- looks like a lot of rain and wind coming our way since we will be on the east side of the storm as it comes up through Georgia. I am praying that it does not continue to strengthen -- our weather guy says that if it makes landfall in Florida as a Cat 3, we will likely have hurricane-force wind gusts here in the Upstate. That's also because they expect it to move quickly. Nothing to do but prepare as best we can and pray! We have batteries, the car has a full gas tank, and I have cash on hand.
Just saw a suggestion to take "before" pictures of your house and cars in case they are needed for insurance claims, and I think I may go do that. Hopefully they will not be needed!
We enjoyed our chicken bog last night and also visiting with DSIL when she got in. She's in Greenville today and should be back around the same time tonight (8:00 ish). She'll head back home to Virginia tomorrow.
