Good morning friends.
Cool and a bit foggy this morning. I am headed to Keene NH to get the Honda fixed, The drivers side window won't go all the way up on it's own, Did this 2x before and now again. Last time they had to replace the tracks in the door. We will see what needs work today.
Dinner last night was leftover Spaghetti and meatballs I made it into a cassarole and smothered it in cheese! LOL
Lori- Sure hope you are recovering well and are resting. You are missed.

Good morning, folks! It's mostly cloudy and 62° with a light wind this morning. Still dark )-;! The workers never showed up yesterday, and we received no word about when they will return to the complex. Maintenance man told us that they had many jobs to complete throughout the complex. We went to the gym early, and after that I walked across the street to the 'salon' to make an appointment to get my toenails trimmed. I was able to walk right in! Well, never have I never got such royal treatment! I was helped into a massage chair (with push buttons for me to set!) and my feet were put into a warm, circulating water bath! In my family pedicures were considered an unnecessary luxury so I never got one. Boy, am I ever a convert!!! All of this treatment was not a pedicure! When I was done, I booked a pedicure in 4 weeks! The toenail cut only cost $20; the pedi will be & $35 (is that the 'normal' price?). Asking those who get pedicures regularly...! While Bill was at the doctors, I made liver paté with the leftover liver, bacon, and mushrooms. Added cooked shallots, garlic, a touch of sage, salt, pepper, and vermouth. Will nibble on it over the next few days. I am waiting to have breakfast after my 7:20 blood test...drinking water! We will do grocery shopping after that. We have friends coming for lunch, and I have Cookin' Seniors chat. Will be back to chat here after that. Enjoy the day! Waving!

Ann- That is a really good price for a Pedi! Mine is $58 Wow! I love having them. Make your feet feel so good. It helps my neuropathy so much! Glad you liked it. I love the massage chairs!

Ann -- I love that you had such a great experience at the salon. You'll have to spread the word and help them stay in business!
Chris, it's always something with cars, isn't it. I know you want to get that window fixed before the cold weather comes in.
I read yesterday, just didn't get around to posting. We had Zatarain's red beans & rice with some turkey smoked sausage, and that was a good meal. Hadn't made that in a long time.
Moving a little slower this Friday morning but I need to get busy on the bathrooms. One last cup of coffee was calling my name! We are back into warm temps -- close to 90 this afternoon -- but nights & early mornings are still pleasantly cool.

Good morning. Just finished my walk. It was nice walking in cooler weather . I need to go get my neighbor from the airport before swim class this morning. I am going to try it this morning. I have UNO this afternoon.
Ann- I love liver pate' . I haven't had it in years though. Enjoy your company at noon That pedicure sounds reasonable to me from what people say they pay around here. I've never had one.
Elza- I take it you don't work today? I like zaratans spanish rice.
Chris- always something with a vehicle.

Good morning. This is the last nice day for over a week now. We will be back in the 100's starting tomorrow. :'( At least the mornings will be nicer.
The cart is plugged in even though it's not quite that low. But I want to test the new charger before the end of the return time. I also have the sheets in the washer. Not much else on my to do list that I feel like doing today.
Last night I slept good and only woke up at 4 to use the bathroom. Getting out of bed at 6:30 is much better than 6. Mandy is in no rush so why should I be in a rush. Too soon the pet area will be taken over by pets of the birds. I hope no one will want to use the little one like we do.
Tomorrow my handyman, Oscar, is coming to look at the french door and give me an estimate to remove it and replace with a slider. Having a slider will make the door much more useable and free up space in the tiny living room. I hope I have enough money in my special account for the job.
Leftovers for lunch and supper today. Then I better start using up what I have in the freezer before it gets old.

Good morning all. Slept later this morning - didn't wake until 6.15. Much nicer than 4.45/5.15 that has been the norm recently. Mats and towels from one bathroom are done. Hubby has just got back from the gym so will wait until he has showered before the other mats and towels get done. When I got up from my first mug of coffee for the day the sun just happened to be lighting up the unit we have by the front door and that set my plans for the day. It was so dusty . . . So the front entry way and the living room are dusted and polished and I'm part way thru the dining room. It definitely looks better. Not sure how much more I will do. I must freeze the soup I made yesterday to use up the last of the chicken - it really is not soup weather here at the moment but it is ready when the weather changes. Have a lovely day.

G'day Mates.... I am very sad today. My beautiful cat, Patch, had to be put to sleep yesterday. I am very teary and very upset. However, when I read what some of our "family" on the threads are dealing with, the death of a cat seems very minute. However, I am very sad.
Not much else is going on here as if that isn't enough - but DH and I are planning a trip to NC in a couple of months. I love the drive down there which is almost 900 miles and it is giving me something to look forward to. Since it will be late fall, we are planning the trip to miss the Smoky Mountains which will add a "few" miles to the drive.
All the cleaning posts are inspiring me....... I think I am going to look a little harder to find a cleaning pro. Even if just for the main floor.
Don't know if I mentioned this before, but our doctor put me in touch (Ha! They made the appointment!) with a nutritionist/dietitian. We, as in DH and I, will be learning about the MIND Diet. It is my understanding that this is a cross between the DASH Diet and the Mediterranean Diet. It should be interesting. I can cook anything, but have no imagination when it comes to the meals themselves. Menu planning is not in my wheel house for some reason.
Well, some laundry is awaiting a swim, so I best get to it. Have a good day.

I'm making a roast that DD gave me for supper tonite. She belongs to one of those meat companies that send out a bundle of choices on a monthly basis. I had this once before and it was so tender and tasty that I asked her for another one. I'll make baked potatoes and peas also. TM, no wonder you're so sad. I wish you many peaceful and happy memories of your sweet kitty. Not much to tidy up since the housecleaner was just here. Quiet time and a nap coming right up. ((Lori)) Sweet dreams to all

HI ! Just wanted to pop in to say hello. TM, I am so very sorry about the loss of your kitty. Our pets are so dear to us, right?
It has been a few years since I have had a pedicure, but that price seems really great.
Bible study starts in about 40 minutes. I baked some cool whip cookies and also am making southern beef and cheese dip.
The concert last night was very enjoyable. It is a group of 3 guys called Legacy. They do all kinds of popular songs mostly Motown.
Need to run and get the dip in the oven. Waving to everyone!!

TM, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I am sure you gave Patch a wonderful home and lots of love and care.
Elaine, I work from 12-5 on Fridays since Friday afternoons are always busier, and 9-2 Monday - Thursday. It is nice to have Friday mornings to get things done at home.
Mamma, hoping the new charger works well. Sounds like you are staying busy with your new embosser and home improvements.
Tasty, the sunshine has a way of showing us what needs doing, for sure! I've had the same experience.
Helen, a nice tender roast does sound good. And good leftovers too! I love a roast beef sandwich with mustard and pickles.
Tammy, I would have enjoyed your concert last night. I love Motown music.
