Good morning friends.
Was good to know that Lori is home. Now to heal up. Thank you Tammy for letting us know and for keeping in touch with her.
One more day of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering. It was a better class time after the Director and the Assistant Director "reamed" out the trouble makers. They did better, not great but manageable. Turns out my class was not the only class of intros that they had to speak to.
We had fresh corn on the cob last night and it was good for the end of the season corn.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning! Thinking back 23 years to those people lost in the 9/11 terror event. Saying prayers, still. I'm a little bleary eyed this morning because I stayed up watching the debate last night. Overnight, I had weird dreams about politics! We ate with friends at the restaurant last night. Bill and I both had the special...shrimp with farro risotto. Our friends had the vegetarian special...a cheese ravioli with mushroom sauce. Before we met them, I had worked on using the stay strips under the mats in the kitchen after Swiftering the floor. Those strips work really well. I'm going to the Salem senior center this morning, chatting for a while afterwards, then meeting friends for lunch at our restaurant. I will probably have a salad because we will be finishing the stir-fry for dinner. Tammy - Thanks for updating news on our Lori. Time for breakfast. Have to keep the wiggle going...time flies!! Waving! Have a great day.

Good morning. It is 47°here this morning and going into the 70's again today. Yesterday was a beautiful day. The trip north yesterday is showing signs of fall. The higher peaks are starting to get a bit of color. The drive along Lake Champlain was pretty. it was a calm clear day and view of the mountains in Vermont were crisp and clear against a deep blue September sky.
Work went fine but not much of it. I made more for travel than work yesterday. Today I have my CT scan so an trying to time work right so I can get everything done timely but not be hanging around because I am too early am too early for the appointment. Will do a few things around here before I leave for work and try not to get lost looking for the one store I had problems finding last week. It is really simple to get there but trying to watch traffic and look for a place is not one of my better skills. I have everything written done this time.
Ann, can you wash the rugs after you put the stay strips on? I have 2 small rugs in my kitchen and am forever tripping over them because the edge is flipped up. Enjoy your friends.
Chris, glad class was a little better yesterday. I bought corn yesterday when I picked up my tomatoes but didn't have it last night. Was too tired to mess with it.
Have a great day.

Ann, I also stayed up to watch the debate. But once I went to bed, I was out like a light -- no dreams about politics, thank goodness! I'm remembering 9/11/01 as well -- like today, it was a beautiful day that started with an early morning walk.
Chris, I'm glad the directors had your back and helped out with those students.
Bet, hope the day's schedule goes on time and you can get in and out easily.
Tammy's chicken casserole was very good last night. The garlic and onion cooked in butter really adds to the flavor.

Good morning, friends. Lori, if you are reading this just be assured that I am greatly relieved that you are making progress. Take care, my friend. I, too, remember what a beautiful morning 9/11 was until those horrible events happened. I take today to say special prayers for Eddie Felt, a former student of mine who went down on flight 93. We have many connections with that event here locally including firefighters who rushed to New York to help their fellow First Responders. Several of them have died in recent past years as a result of their exposure to the dust at Ground Zero. A tragedy that keeps continuing. Lots going on the last couple days so I haven't posted. First of all, as I expected, I will need surgery on my jaw. Unfortunately, the closest Specialist Clinic for this is in Rochester which is over 2 hours away. My niece has already said not to worry about the travel but I really hate to see her getting hit with my problems when she is so busy. I have no idea when, or who, or how yet until they schedule me. On the lighter side, the table I got from home works perfectly for my laptop and is much easier to get around. So the old one has been donated to the community center here for use by residents when they do their crafts. I ordered another table just like this one because I'm afraid they may stop making them soon and they are so handy. It arrived yesterday and my friend who is the secretary here set it up in about 5 minutes for me. This one fits right in front of the window for some great natural light and I plan to use it to do watercolor and other painting this winter. Here's what it looks like. It makes a great TV tray, too and folds flat to only 6"! Bet, what you consider not doing work makes me tired! But I do know that you enjoy all that cooking! New York now officially has hit another new tornado record with 40 confirmed, the last in the western end of the state. They were really concerned about one north of us about 50 mi. but luckily that never touched down. What is going on here? Have a good one, everybody. Birdy

I remember 9/11 well. My DH called me at work and then brought a radio into the office so we could listen to what was happening. He and 9 other Lions from Northern NY went to NYC 10 days before Christmas to help out in the distribution centers. They weren't a ground zero but were able to get down there to see it in person. It was so awful that he never would really talk about it. They handed out clean closes to the first responders and also delivered gifts and party good to many of the police precincts that were holding Christmas parties for the children of the the first responders. The weekend of the 10th anniversary I had 16 folks from what now is garden chat at my house of a get together and they departed from here on 9/11/11. One of the gales had to fly back to Kentucky that day and was rather apprehensive about it.
I picked up my plum tomatoes yesterday and just got 8 pints on to process. Have about 15 minutes left and they will be done and I will be out the door. The dishwasher is loaded and running. I can't believe I don't have anymore pint canning jars. I know I have some that I need to empty so I guess I need to start eating more of my canned things. I will pick up another case while I am out today. I think I got a large 1/2 bushel yesterday as I have only finished about 1/3 of them.
Elza, I downloaded Tammy's recipe and am thinking of doing it for the Lions one month. I haven't tried it yet but will soon.
Birdy, sorry to read that you have to have the surgery but you need to get back to being able to eat real food. I am sure Lori would mind a bit about taking you to Rochester. The hospitals there are great. We have a fellow who graduated from here who is a cardiologist I think at Strong. I have one of those tables that I have had for many years that I got for DH when he was pretty much finally bed ridden. He was able to use it to eat from and also as a bed stand.
Where is Tasty this morning? She was on earlier.

Good morning. I was on my way to work on that dreadful day. When I got to work I saw a tv on the counter and wondered why. What I saw made me sick and terrified.
This morning we went to the big pet area and visited with Mary and Emily. Emily gets so happy to see someone. Mandy is quite indifferent at times. She likes to run and Emily does not. Emily is a licker and Mandy will not allow that and neither do I. If you let her, Emily will lick and lick non stop. She and her brother would get each other sopping wet. Yuck! Mary just let them. And they tried to do the same to people as well. Once Mandy was done this morning she was ready to go home and I was ready to finish my cup of coffee.
Some floor cleaning has to get done today. I talk about getting Annie out and then I get side tracked and she stays sleeping. The floors need a real scrubbing as well, but not sure my arms will take to all the floors. I may just get the living room and kitchen areas done. When it comes to cleaning I'm happy my home is small. But that is the only time. hehehe
Not as humid today but hot this afternoon. I'm not going anywhere so it really doesn't matter as long as I have ac in the house. :)
Lori, prayers for healing, so happy to hear you are home.
Birdy, I am happy and sad to hear of the upcoming surgery. It will be nice when you can eat regular food again. But any surgery is a bit scary. How nice to have family to help you.
Chris, having been taught a classroom of EBD students I can understand you stressful yesterday was for you.
Bet, the signs of fall down here is when the license plates change color. ;) I really miss Minnesota fall colors, such beauty. I tried those strips but like you they didn't stay on. So I put the rugs away and hope to give it another try this winter when the floors are cold. I'm such a klutz that they may not stay on the floors.
I better get up from here and start my morning tasks and then the chores.

Good morning. We were at the dog park by 5:15 am. We were the only one there for about 10 minutes, then her friends started coming. We had walked down there and then walked to her house( the other end of the park) to feed the cats. We just came in from sitting outside. It's beautiful out there at 84°. She just climbed in her bed.lol. I said it's only 10 o'clock - you can't be napping.
I need to go to the grocery store as I remembered I serve coffee hour tomorrow morning. I don't feel like baking.
Tammy- thanks for the update on Lori. I am so glad you had her phone number.
Birdy- here's praying that this surgery is a success. I am sure your niece doesn't mind at all. I have a question. Where you are living will this be your permanent home?
Bet-those tomatoes will sure taste good this winter.
Elza- I was working at school when it happened. They pulled Tvs from all over and set up in the commons area.
Mamma-i took a cup of coffee with me to the dog park. I'm done with my coffee already and it's only 10.

Decided to have a grilled cheese for lunch. Just got hungry for it. Going to have a big old salad with leftover salmon for supper. Good to hear from you, Lori. Hope you're resting comfortably. Quiet day here. Sweet dreams, all.

Just popping in quickly. Pinto beans and cornbread are ready for supper. It was a lazy day for the most part, gray and cloudy and even rain when I got up. I managed to get the dogs to the vet, they were due for shots. Maybe the rain worked in my favor, I arrived and there was no one in the waiting room. This vet does not take appointments, just walk in.
Such a somber day, I remember driving to work and hearing the news on the radio. I had a tiny tv so watched the events unfolding all day.
Have a sweet evening friends.

Hi everyone! Life just gets in the way sometimes. I read this morning but busy, busy and no time to post. And tonight I'm just about asleep as I sit here so I'll just wish you all a good night.
