Morning! Showers passed through last night, but all is clear and quite cool with a brisk breeze out there. I can just see the sun peeking at the buildings across the street. Supper last night, shrimp with warm German-style Cole slaw was outstanding. We cleaned our plates! Tonight semi-homemade pizza is on the menu. I will top Ellios 5- cheese pizza slices with sautéed peppers & onions, pepperoni, and extra cheese to hold down the toppings. I'll make a side salad to go with it. I managed to put up some glass hangings on the balcony door. Bill took a look at the cabinet instructions. We may need to ask for help in assembling it. Have a wonderful day. Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- We had a violent storm blow trough last evening. Didn't last long but what a wind!
Dan had put the Jeep on Facebook Market place hoping to sell it last week. We it sold yesterday. A dealership person came by and picked it up. so we are back to a single car again after 12 years of 2 cars. Feels strange to look out in the car port and not see the Jeep out there.

Just passing through since conditions aren't good for dictating. We are looking at winds up to 30 mph with a cold front. Cold wind over warm Lady Lake Ontario means lake effect rain for the next few days. Ugh! Hope winter isn't like this.
My niece came yesterday and helped me organize my clothes and whatnot. A big help!
Worried about Lori. Hope we get some news soon.
Have a good day, folks.
Birdy

Good morning. Hot, sticky, a little breeze, and somewhat cloudy. I'll take the clouds. By the end of the week we should finally break out of the 100s during the day and have much cooler nights. We may get a shower or two this morning, which would be nice if it was enough to wash off some of the dust and dirt. But it may just make a bigger mess.
Towels in the dryer and on the lines, church, lunch out and then who knows what I'll get into. Karen did say she wants to stop over to look at some cards to purchase. I just came in from checking the salt level in the water softener and it looks like I'm good for some time yet. That is enough outdoors for me today. I feel like I need another shower. UGH!
The internet was not working well this morning so I wasn't sure I would get here or be able to watch any tv today. Everything is getting tired of this heat. hehehe

Jan, I like radishes peppery with a nice bite just like you. I agree they're not so good when they're getting a little old and spongy. My family always had a glass of fresh green onions in water on the table for meals. Also a bowl of radishes and sometimes celery. Our routine was a little pile of salt on our plates for dipping whatever veggies were available. I like to add cauliflower to the mix nowadays. It's my favorite for dipping into spinach dip. Do you like a variety of raw veggies? My supper will be a clean-up of leftovers from the fridge. This is the day to decide whether to have them for supper or the garbage bin. Wishing all a slower paced day. (Hugs, Lori)

Good morning. Boy did I sleep in. Now, I wonder if it was the bloody Mary I had about 3 or the wine cooler at 6 or the vodka 7up at 8.lol But I only got up twice once at 1 and again at 4 and got up at 9. I just told Bruce I want to do it today.
We are watching football games today. listening to the vikings on the radio.
I hope we hear from Lori this week. Its okay if we don't as long as she is on the mend. Prayers for continuous healing.
Chris- I bet it does look bare in your driveway. IM glad it sold fast.
Ann- our temperatures are going down at the end of the week to 103° ,so hopefully they will continue as I want to make homemade pizza.
On Wednesday night we are going to the dine out. This is in place of the potluck. we will be ordering the family feast that comes with the pizza.
Birdy- does your niece live close by ? Glad she was able to help.
Well, we know Bet is busy working today. Hope it goes smoothly.
Mamma- we haven't had even a Sprinkle here in town of rain this whole summer. It's gone around us.
Helen and Jan- I love radishes. Coralie fries hers, never had them that way.
Tasty- hope your market day is a success.
Hi Doris if you are reading.
I need to get back to the games. Elaine

It was a long, cold and windy time at the market this morning. We do have a tent but today took the cover off so it didn't get caught by the wind. One person had left to go shopping for us for canning this week and put the cover in her vehicle so when it rained we got a little damp. Fortunately there wasn't too much rain - more a case of enough to be annoying. However, bearing in mind the weather we didn't do badly - it was worth going. Now tho I am tired and really want a nap. You are getting your place at the Baldwin set up just as you want Ann - it does take a while. Glad the Jeep sold quickly for you Chris. Before those winds get to you Birdy they have mastered the art of being nasty over us in the County. Lots of strong gusts that had tents blowing about this morning. I'm so glad to see that your niece is able to give you some help. Altho we are cold today mamma, I don't envy you the heat you are having - that's more than I like. My grandfather always had a little pile of salt on his plate Helen. I'd forgotten all about that trait of his until your post reminded me. Enjoy your football games Elaine. I have no idea what we are having for supper tonight but should probably come up with some ideas as it is already 4.30. Enjoy what is left of this day.

Good afternoon! Yesterday was a busy day with the ball game at the university -- they won big, so the "undefeated since 1911" t-shirts are still true. 😄 We only stayed through the first half -- it was very warm and sunny, and even with plenty of sunscreen I was feeling it. Went home, got a shower, and then headed out for the church reunion in Abbeville. That was a great evening. Saw lots of old friends -- so many good memories were shared.
Today has thankfully been quieter. We had lunch with friends from church at the university cafeteria and had a great time visiting with them. The only problem this weekend was that our internet went out 😲 so DH went to his office to get some work done. He called the provider from there and they were able to reset our modem. Back in business, so I'll be ready to watch football!
I've been making my grocery list -- really need to stock up on some meat this week so I am checking the sales. I got cube steaks out for tomorrow night.
I'm missing Lori too, but like Elaine said, just hope she is resting and recovering. Elaine, your social schedule puts mine to shame! LOL
Ann, I bet the glass is pretty on your balcony doors. Do you get morning or afternoon sun?
Chris, that's great to sell the Jeep so quickly but it does take a minute to get used to not seeing your car outside.
Birdy, you keep moving forward with getting organized. Good for you!
Mamma, we are having temps in the 70s right now and it may get down into the 50s for lows this week! I keep telling myself, it's going to get hot again, though.
Helen, I need to give radishes another try. I haven't tried them with salt like that.
ETA hello to Tasty. I think you deserve a nap!

Good afternoon everyone Ann, good that you’ve got someone in the building to help you with the cabinets. Chris, that was fast to sell the jeep. Must have been a bittersweet moment for you. Birdie, how thoughtful of your niece to help you organize your clothes. My clothes need reorganizing big time, can I borrow her? Mamma, got my towels done today too. Now all the laundry is all caught up. We don’t need water softeners here. Helen, I can no longer eat any fresh vegetables and many cooked ones too. Oh how I miss my salads. DH has a big dish at lunch every day, and any company that we might have, gets a big bowl too, but I have to pass it up. Elaine, your temperatures are going down to 103*? OMG, I don’t think I could ever live there. Tasty, sorry the weather didn’t cooperate for you today, but happy to hear you found it worth while anyway. Emr, so nice when you can visit with old friends. Not much doing here today, other than getting the laundry all caught up. Dishwasher going now, hope to get it emptied before supper. Forgot to turn it on earlier. Having ham tonight, DH just said he wants mashed potatoes, his favourite, sides to be decided (always a last minute decision). Jan.

An hour on and I now have potatoes baking in the oven and some coq au vin defrosting in the microwave so it will be an easy supper here. A chilly day deserves something hot for supper - the microwave saves me too often. Need to get back to planning ahead a liitle better.

Bet....Re: mouse issue. I read about a product put out by BugMD called Vamoose that gets rid of and keep mice away...non lethal to kids and animals. Just go on Google and type in Vamoose for mice and read about it. Amazon and Walmart sells it w/W/M being cheaper. You might have to order it from W/M if your store doesn't stock it. DH years ago went around the house inside and out and stuffed 0000 steel wool around any pipe or crack with a flat head screw driver. They can't eat through it.
Elaine, I read every day but don't always post. I hope that things have smoothed out as you are most likely the nicest and most helpful person that lives there. All the animals will love you for all the care and attention you give them. I, like others, think you are taken advantage of with little thanks or remuneration. I send you hugs.
Lori, I send you good wishes for a speedy recovery, know that you are missed. I check daily to see if there is a post or a report. Hang in there and stay tuff...you can get through this. I send gentle hugs.
Tasty, good to see that your sales have been so productive in spite of the weather...You and your group are such a treasure to you town. To all stay well and stay safe and when out, pay attention to what its going on around you.
Cheers Doris
