Good morning! We're open for the day. I'm in a rush to have breakfast and get ready for an early grocery shop. We want to avoid any crowds this holiday weekend. Yesterday, we ordered up the duck breast, baby potatoes, and broccoli. That duck breast is sooo good! We have friends coming for lunch today. We haven't seen them for quite a while. They moved into a senior community in MA over two years ago. Will be comparing notes. Closing on the house in Lawrence has been moved to Sept. 9th. Hope nothing goes wrong. I'm nervous about the date change!! I ordered soup to have tonight for supper...a nice vegetable soup. If we are hungry, I will make some toasted cheese or something to go with it. Hope everyone has a great day. Waving!

Good morning Ann and everyone who stops by later. It will be interesting to compare notes with your friends over lunch Ann. Last night's supper sounds fabulous! They certainly feed you well! A cloudy morning at 66F. We should end up in the mid 70s by the afternoon but it's going to be hot and humid. I won't complain (too much) because in a few months time we'll be longing for weather like this! Had a great night's sleep - maybe aided by the pain killer I had at bedtime. But so far this morning no need for pain killers. Another day of cool drinks and soft food but I can live with that. I'm just so grateful that I know nothing of what happened while I was in the dentist's chair. I have everything prepared for shepherd's pie for supper this evening. Don't know where this summer has gone but here we are at Labour Day weekend - enjoy it, whatever you have planned.

Good morning. It is 57°here this morning and overcast. It is suppose to be partly sunny this afternoon but will barely break 70°. Yesterday turned out to be a long day which I expected. These are easy jobs but very time consuming. No real add or delete of products. Just move them. 4' shelves and every item moves either to the right or the left one space. It sound quick but everything is in one of those spring loaded mechanisms and of course nothing fits so they all have to be adjusted.
I have one job that has to be done today so I will be working this morning for about 1 1/2 hours then will do my shopping it that town. Some good sales. I will pick up the shrimp for the November Lions' dinner at $5.99 a pound for 16-20 count. I hope to get home and get my trimmer running and do some much needed heavy duty trimming around here. Either tomorrow or Sunday I have one other job to do. Same as what I did yesterday but this one says it doesn't take as much time. Then I will do some much needed shopping at Walmart. I need to get some baking supplies for my baker for the September meeting plus some things for myself.
Ann, hope the store isn't too crowded this morning. I have 2 grocery stores I could work while I am out working today and tomorrow but I think I may pass on that and wait until next week. Enjoy your lunch today with friends.
Tasty, glad the tooth extraction when well yesterday and no pain so far. I think I would want to be complete knocked out for it also. I remember my first cataract surgery only too well. It was a very unusual surgery so my doctor had a second surgeon with him and all the talk between them about what they were doing and how things were going made me fer anxious. Hope you continue to feel OK.
Have a great day.

Tasty, I'm so glad the procedure got done without you being aware of it, and that you're not having too much pain. Take good care of yourself today.
Ann and Bet, y'all are both busy bees as usual! Ann, hopefully the change was just a scheduling conflict. I know you will feel better when it's done, though. Bet, I don't like fooling with those spring loaded displays when I'm buying something, so I know it would aggravate me having to adjust and stock them. Hope you get done in good time and find everything you want at Walmart.
I'm off today and just now getting my breakfast. I'd meant to get up earlier and clean bathrooms but since I turned my alarm off and slept later, here we are. It's kind of nice, actually. I have towels in the wash and after I finish the coffee, I'll get clean sheets on the bed, clean the bathrooms, and get packed. DH won't be home until 1:30 so it will all get done.

Good morning. It's gloomy and slightly damp and on the cool side. Not a nice start for a holiday weekend for people planning to camp out!
Tasty, I'm glad you're tooth worked out well. Last Summer I had an old root canal that went bad and I had an infection. With spinal surgery on my neck looming I had to get rid of that thing. They found a dentist about 25 miles away who could take me within a half an hour. I jumped in the car and took off. I was amazed at how quickly it went and I barely had any pain after it since the nerves in the canal were dead. I'm pretty sure that's why. Hopefully you will experience the same aftermath I did.
Finally got the Cubbies I had at home brought to my room and I spent yesterday afternoon moving the pile of What Not out of the way to put them in. Luckily, someone stopped in who I commandeered to drag them to the right place. It's a perfect fit and allows me much more room for my computer table. So things are beginning to look a bit more organized in here! I still have to buy some cloth or wicker baskets to slide into them but for the meantime they are working. I plan to buy a four cubicle cubby to put on its side under my window which will have baskets in it too. That will hold quite a bit of stuff, and I am unfortunately well supplied with stuff! LOL!
Not much going on here again since it's a holiday weekend. I will spend the time continuing to tidy up.
Have a good one, everyone.

Good morning.
Warm this morning with a low dew point but we still took the GF to the pet area. Mandy really doesn't care which pet area we go to anymore, but she does look forward to morning treat when she is done. hehehe
A trip to the UPS again and then to the $tree for some things for card making. Not sure they will have what I am looking for, and if they don't I guess I don't need them. When finished here I better get to my ironing. I'm getting tired of moving it out of the way all the time.
My friend Lynda called me yesterday all upset. Her light bill went up almost $100. APS, the electric company in YUma, raised their rates beyond reason. One lady in her park said her bill went up almost $200. Something is way wrong. I know a lot of people have been complaining about the rise in rates and in some cases their bill almost tripled. They also charge $15 to read the meter. Good grief. I’m so thankful we have those solar panels and our park reads the meters. But I’m sure ours will go up somewhat too. I’ll find out in a couple days. Lynda’s rent went up too and she has a hard time with what it is now. I felt so badly for her. Now I'm even more happy that I didn't purchase the place in her park. I couldn't afford that kind of increase in the electric either. Our fixed incomes can't handle that. God had protected me well once again.
Ann I do hope that the date for closing won't cause any problems with the sale. Mark loved duck. That was the last meal I made for him too, Christmas day.
Tasty, I wish I could be put under when I have an extraction. My next dentist trip will include a wisdom tooth extraction on top of the other work. :'( To me extractions are the worst.
Call me crazy, I know I am, but I'm so hungry for my New England Clam chowder and am thinking of making some. I just need to pick up some potatoes.
Bet, those spring load shelves sound like a pain in the neck. I hope today goes well for you.
Have a fabulous Friday everyone.

EMR, bathroom cleaning to be done here too. Do something fun on your day off besides cleaning. :)
Birdy, those cubbies look nice as well as being practical. I'm sure it feels good to have your things in a good place and more organized for you too.

LOL Mamma -- I got all the chores done, except for folding laundry, which I'll do next while watching TV. Bills are paid, I'm packed for the trip, and feeling good about that. We're coming back on Sunday so I will be able to just enjoy Labor Day without much labor. Also, a couple we went to church with in Louisville are moving to Yuma! He is going to be the new pastor at Immanuel Southern Baptist Church.
Birdy, I love hearing about how you are feathering your little nest there. 😊 It will be so much easier to have your stuff stowed neatly.
Looks like it might be a rainy weekend around here but sunny & 90s in Summerville.

After going back and reading, I see some of you have in commenting on EEE. We have horses that often show up with it in the swampy areas around the Syracuse area. But they are very concerned about it this year. Back in the '80s, a friend of ours caught it in Florida where they were living at the time. She survived but had to learn to walk and talk again. Yes, it is serious stuff.
Reading your comments about ham reminds me of the old joke, "The definition of eternity is two people and a ham!"

Happy Friday and Happy Labor Day Weekend too! We always celebrated with a cookout and board games after eating (when we were all too old for badminton, etc.) I'm having a smoked sausage sandwich with peppers/onions and cole slaw made on Saturday that will probably last til Monday. Grocery stores have been hyping this holiday for so long it seems like it should be over by now. Tonite's supper will be pepperoni pizza ordered in. Tasty, I just read about your visit to the dentist. Ouchy! Glad it's going well. Thanks for the EEE warning, Birdy. Sure sounds like nothing to fool with. Hugs to all

Good evening. It has been gray and dismal here all day and I think the high was 72°. Work was a humdinger today. Got to the store, tried to sign into my software and no cell service. That is unusual that it happens in this town. Actually it apparently had been out for quite some time as I lost Amazon Music on my car radio way before I got to town but sometimes the outlying areas area in and out. Took about 10 minutes and I had service again so brought up the program and answered to preliminary question and went into the store. There was 1 employee in the entire store (a Dollar General) and a line at the cash register. For some reasons you can't use the self check out which this store was designed to only use that. I finally got to speak to the gal and she informed me that there was no way I could get to my supplies in the back room. I guess she had basically been there for most of the week alone. No stock had been moved all week and there had been 3 trucks delivered.
Of course on the phone to my manager. All he did was tell me to call support. They told me what to do as I had started the report there is no way to just quit. Answer all the questions and take pictures then verbally explain why I was lying throughout the report and they would put in a request for a revisit. I closed out and put in my time sheet and thought that was it. When I got home I tried to close out my final time sheet and put in my mileage and my report has disappeared completely. All I know is they owe me 1/2 hour of work and 54 miles. That doesn't take in the consideration for all of the aggravation.
Boy did I go shopping. I really bent the Lions' credit card. Got the 4 pounds of shrimp I need for Shrimp Cocktail for November 16/20 per pound for $5.99 a pound which is just about half price. Also got 17 pounds of boneless chicken breasts for $1.99 a pound. The chicken I may be able to get 2 meals out of it. One will be in January. I have a couple of different recipes in mind. Now hopefully whole pork loins will go on sale before the October meeting or some beef roasts.
My Sous Vide timer just went off the the Cajun shrimp is done and also shrimp for a shrimp bisque this weekend. All I need to do for dinner is put a quick sear on the shrimp and air fry some of my frozen sweet potatoes and dinner will be ready. I am hungry and tired.
Enjoy your evening.

Hello, Hope it was a good day and everyone is ready for a 3 day weekend. I worked today, ate lunch at Care, then came home for a short nap. I geared myself up and headed to Walmart. I picked up all the things I need for the next 4 days of cooking. Supper was a pizza that I got in the Walmart deli.
It has been nicer being in the 90's instead of over 100. It clouded up but never rained today.
The gal that has been working on Friday in the receiving room quit today. She is moving back to her home state of Indiana. She was such a good worker, she will be missed. The 90 year old man who worked on Saturday passed away last week while out of town. I am going to need to recruit some folks. I have to be careful because there is 1 resident who has volunteered. No one really cares much for her, she talks constantly and her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. I would go insane having to work with her all day, and no one else does either! She uses a walker and has health issues, so I have not been in a position to use her.
I hope everyone enjoys the weekend!
