Good morning friends. It is dark out. So the days are certainly getting shorter. We had a good day yesterday at Rye Harbor State Park. Had our Lobstah rolls and our Fluffy Clam Chowdah!
I will be working today and tomorrow as the Industrial Trades teacher is out sick already for the first week of school. Poor guy got covid last Sunday. Heck of a way to start the new year and a new job.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning. It is 52°here this morning and to be in the mid 70's again today. Yesterday work went OK. It was a job I don't especially like doing and it took a lot longer than expected so only got 1 store done yesterday before I had to leave for the city to pick up the turkey breasts. I don't usually us pick but this was the smoothest one I have ever had. I texted when I was about a half hour away that I was on my way. When I pulled into the plaza I got a text acknowledging that they would be right out with my order. I don't think I was parked more than 2 minutes and they were walking out the door with my order.
I was awake at 4 this morning so got up about 4:30. Alice has already cleaned the entire main house and has gone back to bed. Wish I could but have to work today. Hopefully I will be able to get 2 stores done today. The same job I had to do yesterday. That way I will have an easy day tomorrow. Only on job that has to be done by Sunday and what ever else I feel like doing around here real close. If I get everything done today that is scheduled I may not work tomorrow as it is suppose to be nice and will work that one store on Saturday as we are to have showers. Worst part today my stores don't open until 9 so no point in leaving here until about 8:15.
Chris, glad you had a great outing yesterday. Any word on when Dan has his procedure. I know you were hoping you would get an earlier date.
Well I have some work to print off for next week.
Have a great day.

Good morning! It's cooler this morning. Yesterday's high temperature was 90°. Felt bad for the school kids in those schools without AC. Been there; done that. Today is going to be much cooler. Yesterday's volunteer luncheon was very nice. Food was delicious (buffet), and the entertainment (a music trivia game) was fun. Bill had coconut shrimp. succotash, and couscous last night. I had a small wedge salad. Not sure about supper tonight. Pictures, clocks, and mirrored mahogany shelf are all hung. Yea! Just have one more wall to tend to. Chris - Glad you had a good trip to the coast. It's a pretty stretch along there. Love low tide. Elaine - Do you have a grinder or food processor? What about making ham balls. I make them with a less sweet sauce. I'll post it. There is always quiche or frittata! Elza - Wise choice not to attend the meeting. There is a report on the news about the closure of a major bridge between NH & ME on the route 95. Started with a 911 call. It's been a few hours so it must be serious. Time for breakfast! Have a wonderful day. Waving!

Bet- Dan has his first appointment on September 24th for his first set of testing for the DBS and then we will hopefully have a good time line for surgery. Hoping for December.
Ann- I saw that on the news also about the Piscataqua Bridge being shut down. I have a friend who lives in the area and she said she has to take the long way to work.

Good morning all. Another day of predicted sun and clouds and temperatures in the low 70s. The sun missed us completely yesterday and we even had a little bit of rain while we were on the golf course in the afternoon - so much for the old saying of it never rains on the golf course!! Glad you and Dan enjoyed your trip to the coast Chris - nice to get that in before you are back on call for work. Your new place will be looking so much more like home with pictures etc hung on the walls Ann. Hope today goes smoothly at work Bet. It would be nice if you can take advantage of nice weather tomorrow to have the day at home. Off to find something to keep me out of mischief - have a fun day all.

Another cancellation last night -- our music minister texted to say that he was not feeling well and cancelled choir practice. Don't know if it's the Covid that's been going around again, but I'm glad he cancelled and that we are going out of town for the weekend.
Just as well, too, since I didn't get off early yesterday. This is my Friday since I'll be off tomorrow. DH finishes up his Friday class at 1:15 so we're hoping to get on the road shortly after that. He was planning to mow the lawn tonight but did it last night and that was a good choice too. It's warmer and more humid today, with a chance of rain this afternoon and evening.
I'll get my hair cut after work and then I'm planning to do the chicken thighs and rice for dinner tonight.
Chris, sounds like a good day -- anytime you get lobster, that's a good day, right?
Bet, you've already had a productive day. Hope the 2 stores today go smoothly. I know you were glad to get those turkey breasts at such a good price.
Ann, sounds like you had a good time at the volunteer luncheon. I love trivia games! One thing I don't miss from Louisville is being at the mercy of a bridge closure. Even with 3 bridges right there close together, it was always a big headache if one was shut down. Hope that whatever caused it can be cleared quickly and that no one was killed or injured.
Tasty, perfect weather! I've been enjoying have low temps in the 70s! I'm glad the rain didn't interfere too badly with your game.

Good morning Not all that bad this morning but we took the cart anyway. Mandy said hi to Emily and Mary, did her business and was ready to go home. She was quick. I think she just wants to go home and have her treat. Can't blame her I want to finish my first cup of coffee too. ;)
Today and for the rest of the week it is going to be awfully hot. UGH. I want to bake cookies. The store bought are starting to make me gag. I just don't want to start up the oven when the ac is working hard to keep me comfortable. Oh well. Actually everything makes me gag lately or makes my tummy unhappy. Just another faze to go through.
Ann, I'm sure it feels more like home with your pictures on the walls. Nothing like a good buffet!!!!!
Chris I love a good clam chowdah. I have a recipe that is oh so good. You got me thinking I should make some on this hot summer day. LOL
Bet, isn't it nice to have those ladies clean for us? I just love my Annie. But her filters are a bit pricey. I've tried washing the desert dirt from them but it doesn't work.
Tasty, I wish the sun would miss us for a few days. ;)
Time now to change the sheets and see what else I can start....

Good morning. As soon as dh gets out of the shower we are going to pick up Judy and head for labs. We will drop Judy off at her clinic and then go to our clinic. Dh wanted to go at 9 but Judy said 8 and she needs time to get ready for noon. Dh is not happy.
Today, is Richard's memorial service. I have decided to go .I'm sure not looking forward to it.
We have a Labor Day potluck so I need to come up with something to take.
Ann- I've never had a ham ball. I need to look up what they are.

Bet--the trimmer saga continues! Hope work goes well for you today and that you get some time off over the weekend! Elza--it's funny that you should mention coffee from Asia because I have been looking at this instant coffee from Japan that is supposed to be really good and comes in individual packets. It is the best selling brand in Japan. The vast majority of reviews from the US have been favorable. I'm just about to try some. Not only is there plain coffee but they also make some cappuccino, latte, and flavored. I'm not big on flavored coffee but I might try a small batch of one of the others. This is a general link to plain coffee but you can get smaller amounts. I may have to try it. Chris, it is good to hear that things are working right along for Dan. I'm glad you had a nice time on your trip. Not much to report here except that Troy brought some cubbies I had from home that should fit along the wall of my room and bring me some storage space. I hate holidays around here because we have a series of substitutes and things just don't run right. Breakfast is supposed to be at 7:30. They forgot my pureed food again and I didn't eat until 9:00. For what we are paying per day this should be better. Aside from that it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day. I hope to get out again for a little fresh air. Have a good one. Birdy

Good morning everyone. Chris, so glad you had an enjoyable day yesterday. After all these years living inland, I still miss the ocean. Enjoy your day at work. Bet, sorry you didn’t get all the work done yesterday as planned, hope today goes better for you. Good deal on the turkey breasts. Ann, doesn’t it feel more like home with your pictures hung on the walls? Tasty, I see you got a lot of canning done this week. You ladies seem to have a good routine going, after all these years together. Hard to believe fall is almost here. Emr, you sure don’t want to get Covid, sorry it has reared its ugly head in your area. It’s here too, but not a lot. We’re still careful, avoiding crowds. Enjoy your weekend. It’s labour weekend here too. Mamma, I prefer home baked to store bought cookies too. Just as I was coming here to post yesterday, DH said he wanted to go for a drive. He sure wants to do that a lot lately. Ok by me, love driving through the country side. Yup, went to Vernon again, bought some more fruits and veggies, fresh picked. Also picked up a couple of Christmas gifts! Next time, if there is one, we’ll head in a different direction. No idea what’s for supper, same old story here. Ok, off to decide, see what he would like. Bbl, hopefully. Jan.

Jan, thankfully it didn't seem to be Covid in our group. I've had it twice and don't want it again. I'm still glad I could stay home both nights, though! I love your jaunts into the country-- what fun! Especially when you come home with good things!
Elaine, thinking about you as you go to the memorial service.
Birdy, I hadn't heard of instant coffee from Japan -- always learning something new here! I keep a few packets of the Vietnamese instant at work as "emergency coffee."
Mamma, I hope it cools off enough for you to get some cookies baked.

Good afternoon. I kept myself busy this morning doing all sorts of little odds and ends. Just after lunchtime I had an appointment with a dental surgeon to remove the roots from what was left of an old root canal. When I originally went to my own dentist late last year when I originally lost the crown, he just about scared me to death, telling me how difficult this extraction was going to be. At that time nothing could be done because of the comparatively recent hip surgery, then we went south for 2 months. One thing after another delayed the surgeon even being able to take a look at it. Long and short of it - this root was extracted this afternoon. I have been warned by the office to expect it to be painful. So far the freezing is keeping that at bay. I am such a big baby about this that I requested complete sedation and know absolutely nothing about what happened. All I know is that it has been done . No pain so far!!

Hi everyone. Ouch, Tasty. Hope the freezing lasts long enough for the pain to be gone, or at least bring it down to something bearable. Elaine, hope you’re back home again and the service wasn’t as uncomfortable as you anticipate. You probably made the right call to attend. If you didn’t, you might at some time regret it. Just cruising through, bit bored at the moment. Our choice for supper won’t seem very healthy to you. Chicken strips, and fries. Asked DH what kind of vegetable he wanted. He said none, let’s finish up the vegetable soup that’s in the fridge. (homemade last winter, makes lots, we freeze). Ok, back to doing something, there’s lots I can do, just not much ambition. Jan

Hi, Just popping in. I made the pork marsala for supper but had no marsala, so just used white wine.. It turned out good.
It was a good day at the shop. All of our rooms are half price plus we have some sale racks for summer clothing clearance. We made over $600.00 today. I hope tomorrow is busy as well. I was concerned it might rain during the day, but it held off until about 4:00. DH just came and got me and told me to look outside in the back yard a few minutes ago-there was a full rainbow!
Elaine, I think you made the right choice to attend the service.
Tasty, hope you are still feeling no pain from your dental procedure.
Waving to everyone. Sleep well.
