Good morning. Have to start getting ready soon. Will go to church to get things ready for the meeting tonight and find someone to take the minutes. Then we will be going to niece's house for supper with my kids, gkids, and nieces and their families. By the time I get back to town and take DGS home it will be well past my bedtime.
Have a good day.

Good morning. 68 this morning and dark skies. We are to have storms this afternoon. Got quite a bit done yesterday. Cleaned out one greenhouse completely and got it set up for fall. Then I started cleaning up plants, some repotting. The other greenhouse is empty except I need to get the racks moved out and then I can get the cover off that and set up that half of the deck. I guess better late than never.
I am torn as to what I want to do today. Addison, DS and his SO are coming for dinner tonight. Yesterday I got 4# of potatoes mixed up into tater tots. This is a recipe I have been trying to develop. Think I got what I wanted this time. Need to get them formed and into the freezer as they deep fry better from the frozen state. Also making meatloaf for dinner so would like to get that done this morning. I like to mix it and let it sit in the refrigerator before baking as the flavor seems to go through it better. However I also want to work more cleaning up plants which I should do this morning before it decides to rain. Then there is the shop want to get that cleaned up. Not sure where I will start. One thing for sure I need to go to town and get milk for dinner sometime tonight.
Have a great day.

Good Morning! I woke to the sound of rain. YA! It rained a couple of times overnight also.
DD and I had a good time at the amusement park. We went on this motorcycle ride that lasted 30 secs well that was 30 sec to long for me! I kept my eyes shut and prayed. I told her I would never go back on that again. We would get really hot and then head to the water rides those are fun. I can't believe she will be in college in 2 weeks. Time sure does fly.
Not sure what I'm going to do today I know I need to do laundry and probably do some cleaning. Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. It is certainly chilly this morning (52º) and I think I can smell fall in the air. The birds are even quiet which is unusual.
I wasn't here later in the day yesterday since DGS came over for a visit and a sleepover. It was raining, so there were no outdoor activities. He is sleeping in this morning.
Today is supposed to be sunny and 70º, so I have plans of spending the day outside. It has been a few days since it has been fit to be out. Hopefully the rain is done for a few days. I think my toes are growing webs...lol.
Hope you all have a great Sunday. Charlene

Good Sunday morning all,
Read yesterday's Chit Chat and wanted to thank you for thinking of me. NO! you have not "lost" me. LOL DH is still in the hospital and it consumes so much time, then I'm sad and don't feel like talking.
Like most of you, waiting for cooler temps.
I'll be back. LINY

Liny...so glad to see you posting. Lily has been asking me about you and your DH, so I sent you an email. He has certainly been in the hospital a long time. We understand not feeling like "talking," but please post when you feel like it. Charlene

Good morning everyone. Enjoyed the family reunion yesterday. Before I left I started to remove an old tree stump so if the rain lets up later want to try and finish getting the rest out. Need to sharpen my axe also. Have a great day

Good morning.
50º with a high of 78º later so I will go out and start working in the gardens before the gnats come out when the air heats up.
Nothing new to report since I last was here. I tried for a while to post a video on the picture thread from FB that my daughter-in-law had put on of the twins but couldn't figure it out. She had also sent it to me on my phone but couldn't figure how to do it from there either. It was so cute.
Wishing everyone a great day.
Good to see you Liny!

Good morning. It is gorgeous outside to start our day! Our high should be in the mid 70s and the humidity is supposed lessen as the day goes on. DH was just outside, and I hear him opening windows now, so it must be pretty good out there. Yay!!!
I've been up for a little bit, sitting in the office reading emails and Facebook posts. While sitting here, I have had the great pleasure of watching the hummers come to the feeder and the gold finches out picking at the seeds in the coneflower. I looked at the coneflower the other day and thought about cutting it back, but then I remembered the seeds that the birds love so much. I'm very glad I left them alone. I think my favorite thing to do is plant something that the birds will love. Out in that same area is my Yvonne's salvia. People have been mentioning that a bit lately. Some have had good luck, and some have not. I've had a mix of both. I had terrible germination of my seed this year, so I think I may have only planted 5 or 6 plants. They have done fine, but with so few plants, it hasn't been very impressive. What I have had was a wonderful surprise with regard to the YS. I have had a few volunteer from seed that dropped last year! I've never, ever had YS reseed before. I watched and waited to see what the plants would be when they first started showing up. They looked suspiciously like YS so I let them grow. When I was outside a couple of days ago, there were blooms on the volunteers. They are late blooming, but they are here and blooming! It was maybe my best garden surprise of 2016.
I am planning to go to church in a little while. After that, I am going to spend time outside doing whatever comes to mind.
Have fun with your families today, Leslie and Bette.
Sandy, I'm glad your amusement park trip went so well.
Enjoy your outdoor time today Larry and Charlene. I think we've all earned a few nice days out in our gardens and yard.
LINY, it is very nice seeing you here this morning. I'm sorry life's circumstances are not very good for you right now. If you need a friend, you know you have many here. Hugs!
Well, I guess I better move on if I am going to eat, shower, and make church. Wishing you all a swell Sunday!
Waving at you Robin and Kathy! Missed you while I was typing.

Forgot to mention that at the park they had the most beautiful tropical yellow hibiscus well guess who came home with a piece of it? Used some rooting hormone and put in a pot. Hope it grows.

Good morning. It was 77º about 1/2 hr ago but now 83º so it's warming up. Either that or the sun is hitting my I/O sender thingy.
Ive already cut the smaller part of the back yard so now all the grass is cut. Heading out to tackle that disaster of a Daylily bed. I swear the grass in there is as tall as the plants. But wanted to stop by here first.
Good to see LINY is able to post. We just wanted to make sure you were OK. Check in when you can, we'll be here.
Karen, the birds never eat from my coneflowers or even the sunflowers. So I cut mine back yesterday. I must have picky eaters. LOL In Tn, the Goldfinches would eat the Sunflower seeds but not here.

Good morning. I finally got caught up on some sleep last night. I slept straight thru until 5:30, got up and shut the window, and went back to sleep! When I woke up it was just after 8. We will have a big family lunch at noon here then we will head for home shortly after. I have to go back to work tomorrow . Summer is truly over I guess. I sure like having 3 months off but sure is hard to get back in to the swing of things. Next week I really only HAVE to be at work 3 hours tomorrow. The rest of the week I can do what I like so long as I get my work done. Since I will have 15 students this year I better get started on some of my home visits. The good thing is I know 9 of the families already. I will start with those since they will be easiest. I have to get all my paperwork organized first and I can do that at home. I will be sharing my room with a different teacher this year. Her and I met last week to talk about things. I've known her for 15 years so I think it will all be good. She has a class in the room the days I don't. I got a black hollyhock yesterday at the farmers market. The greenhouse was still overpriced IMO, especially for this late and your going out of business. I have a lot of work to do out in my beds. I have lots of powdery mildew this year since we've had tons of rain. I keep hearing we are going to have a bad winter. Hope they are wrong! Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! It's a lazy one for me. Not sure what to expect where weather is concerned. Some sun early morning, but now it's looking gloomy.
Not too much going on here. I fed my pets, then went to feed my neighbor's kitty. Just finished reading.
Yesterday I did so much weeding that I don't feel like doing any today. Then again I might get the courage.
I'll be watching the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. I can't believe how fast the last two weeks went by.
Have a nice day.

Good afternoon everyone. What a nice day for a change. The temp has dropped by 30 so you can actually breath outside. The whole backyard is full sun so still can't do anything until it's shaded early evening.
Not much going on but I see that everyone has been keeping busy. Need to get some pics uploaded so I can post.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday with whatever you choose to do.
