Good morning! It's cloudy and cool this morning. Going to be a damp day. I had a weird night...slept, woke, fell back to sleep several times last night. Seems like my night was in slow motion!! Lunch with friends was delicious. We all had fish tacos. I ate only one and gave Bill the other so I wasn't so full. We did go down and made a box of the BBQ treats...pork, steak tips, pulled chicken and all sorts of veggies. Yum! Nothing much planned for the day. We'll clean out the fridge tonight for supper. Hope everyone has a good Sunday. Back later! Waving!

Good morning all. Damp here too this morning altho it's not raining at the moment. Hubby and I are going out for breakfast as we cancelled our appearance at the market today. After that, it might just be a lazy day for us. I love the idea that you have somewhere nice to take friends for lunch Ann. I'll check back later! Enjoy your day.

Good morning. A dark gloomy wet day today. It is in the mid 60's. We are to have showers off and on today, tonight and tomorrow. Finally got a half way decent night's sleep last night. Was up my usual 6:30 so maybe back on track.
Had no real plans for today but have a mouse that has found one for me. I am missing a mouse trap this morning and I have looked everywhere and can't find it. The only place it can be is under the hutch which is not open from the front so looks like I will spend the day emptying that and trying to move it enough to be able to get behind in and hopefully find the trap. It is the only piece of furniture that isn't on sliders and as I recall the last time I moved it out I tried and didn't think it was steady enough so didn't use them.
I have done my Sunday morning routine of checking the sales for the week. Not a lot on sale again this week. I may go to town later today if the weather isn't too bad and do some shopping. There are some things I need. Wanted to go to the transfer station today with some garbage and mainly cardboard. My garage has become overrun with boxes.
Dinner last night was a bit of a disappointment. The side pork was terrific but the potatoes no so great. The were a bit dry and over seasoned. I guess I am still in search of a potato dish to go with meatloaf in brown gravy for September dinner.
Ann, nice you enjoyed lunch with your friend yesterday. The BBQ food sounds delicious. I am sure you are counting the days down until the closing on the house. I am sure it won't be without mixed emotions.
Tasty, glad you are able to get out for Sunday breakfast for a change. Nice job on the freezers. Mine are all frost free except my little chest freezer. That really needs to be done but at the moment there is no room in the other 2 big ones for the food in the chest and since it is lots of bread products and other things that would defrost quickly I haven't done it. My big ones are pretty well organized with everything in plastic tubs and sort of inventoried. Computer isn't updated however.
I am thinking of beef for dinner tonight. Have to check and see if there are any beef tips already made. Know I have meat to make them but then a filet Mignon sound inviting also. Time will tell.
Have a great day.

Good morning.Slept in until 6:40 this morning I didn't want to get out of bed then either. Rough night with so many night sweats I had to sleep on the other side of the bed and different night shirts. I finally gave up and slept in the buff. Jammies are still wet too. No idea what brought that on and I hope it never happens again, it was miserable. I got Mandy out quickly and thankful that she was quick too. Now it's english muffin and coffee. As odd as it sounds I don't want a cookie or anything sweet this morning either. Just a butter and peanut butter with an english muffin. ;)
Church today and then maybe nothing. I should do some dusting and ironing but that remains to be seen.
Bet, I hope Alice works out as well for you as my Annie does for me. Great invention!!!!
Happy Sunday to all.

Good morning. I got up late as I was up and down all night. When I got up at 4 I heard Doris tags, I turned on the hall light and she was just standing on the one rug in the hall looking at me so I took her outside. Then back to bed we both went.
I will have to go a later service. Or maybe online.
Bet- I hope you find that trap. What a bummer that you have to take everything out. You need a day to relax.
Can't you just do mashed potatoes with that gravy,it sounds good to Me.
Ann- so what creative meal are you making with all your goodies?
Tasty-enjoy your meal with your friends. Lol, I just looked at clock and saw its lunch time where you are.
Mamma- I was up all night because of dreams. I still need to come up with something for breakfast. I fed Dori, but she didn't touch it yet.
I will watch football today and then I have samba tonight.

With a list of movies and plenty of leftovers I'll have a quiet day here. Forecast is still for a high of 104 this afternoon so the only time I'll spend outside is when I wheel the garbage bins out. Hope it's been a good weekend for you and yours. Big hugs to all.

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Indian buffet yesterday -- I was not hungry for the rest of the day! I did pick up one small cookie at the birthday party later, but that was it. Had a small bowl of cereal for breakfast and then we went out for BBQ after church. I was ready for a meal by then!
Chicken pot pie is thawing for tomorrow night's dinner.

Afternoon! I did succumb to a nap after my weird sleep last night. Feel good now! Bill went to Lawrence while I visited the brunch buffet and brought up some goodies to have with leftover lasagna tonight. I scooped up a small amount of scrambled eggs, and made egg salad...! Got some prime rib and some broccoli. I trimmed the prime rib and mixed the broccoli with some leftover carrots and mushrooms. I was tired of rearranging the two twin sized pillows on my bed and decided to get two king sized ones for us. I got them at Ocean State Job Lot. They were packaged in plastic all "smooshed" up. I had to open them and let them plump up overnight. I got pillow protectors there, too, but had to order pillow cases from Amazon. Laundered the cases and put the pillows on the bed. So much better! Bet - I'll never forget the mouse hunt we had last year when a baby mouse got into the house. Duchess chased it around the house with us running after her with brooms. Gave up the hunt and found the mouse doing the dead man's float in her water bowl the next morning! The adults succumbed in the traps we had set. With only one small freezer now, I'm very mindful of the amount of meat I buy. There is a "D-4" pot luck supper scheduled for September 8th. We're going to bring Bill's ground pork meat pie recipe sans crust, and we'll make a shepherd's pie style casserole with a Himmel und Erde potato topping...which is mashed potato with apples. That will use up some ground pork in the freezer seasoned with Bell's seasoning. Had to look up side pork...reminded me of thick cut bacon in appearance. Mamma - PB is my favorite topping on a well done English muffin! Elaine - I was hoping that one of the salads served at the BBQ would be a potato or macaroni salad, but didn't see any. Will have to rely on homemade before the seasons change! Chris - Hope you had fun today...got your mind off of the 'stuff' you are dealing with lately! Helen - I don't know how you and all folks impacted by this summer heat have stayed sane. I'd not fare well! Elza - I never thought I'd enjoy Indian food, but I do. What did you have when you went? I still remember how delicious the rice pudding with rose water was!! Tasty - Wise choice on not doing the market today. Bill said it poured rain while I was taking a nap. Birdy - Hope you can get your jaw to relax. Didn't know that the jaw muscle was the strongest. That must be why Mike Tyson was able to bit through Hollyfield's ear lobe! BTW...they are good friends now!!! Thanks, Google! Have a wonderful evening, everyone! Waving!

Ann, I won't remember the correct names for everything, but I had a tomato and chickpea stew with fried bread, vegetable biryani, chicken tikki masala, tandoori chicken, potato bhatis, and dal made with yellow lentils (new to me and delicious!). Finished with vanilla custard with fruit and a hot sweet rice dessert -- somewhere between a pudding and a soup. Also a few cups of hot sweet chai. It really helps to have someone with us who knows exactly what everything is and what heat level to expect!

Hello, My kitchen is going to smell so good later on. I am making a quad recipe of lasagna sauce for Tuesday. I took the ground beef out of the freezer several days ago and put them in one of our extra refrigerators in the apartment. Last I checked they were still frozen! That fridge must be set really cold. So I moved them to the fridge in the apartment kitchen.
Yesterday was the ladies brunch and it went fine. I managed to get all the food ready and delivered and set out by 9-I did have some help. They really liked the food I prepared. We had 18 there. It was slow at work by the time I got there but we made just over $300.00.
Supper was stuffed pork chops-no recipe, I just used 4 really thin cut chops with stove top stuffing then made a sauce of sauteed onions, cream of onion soup and a packet of pork gravy, thinned with a little water. It was very good and the chops were so tender. And...the doggies loved chewing on the bones!
Today was church then lunch at Hartz fried chicken. There is a concert at church tonight but it is loud rock music so not going.
Waving to everyone! Hope we all sleep well!

So much for the weather forecast - not a drop of rain since we got up this morning. We were not the only people who cancelled from today's market after paying attention to the forecast - what a shame! I had some plumsin the fridge that had really worn out their welcome so when hubby and I got back from breakfast I made some jam. What a lovely colour - I had yellow plums but not quite enough for the recipe so I pulled out the plums I had in the freezer - just a few purple ones. It looks lovely and the set is perfect! What a simple thing but it made me very happy!!! Have a good night.
