Good early dark friends. I was up at 3am trying to seem some of the Persaids but did not get to see any. Clouds came rolling in.
Was an emotional day yesterday for Brian, got the official words "You will never be able to be a firefighter again" He was some what sad as he loves firefighting but some what relieved to be able to be done on the ambulance. He has to have the c4, c5, and c6 discs removed and a cage fused in. He will not be able to ever put a SCOT pack on again. Can not lift a patient or drag a hose. So he will be getting another MRI and then they will set a date for surgery soon.

Good morning all. I woke up about 4.30 and by 5, I realised I would not get back to sleep so quietly crawled out of bed but a few minutes later, hubby was up too. No idea who woke the other up. No real plans for the day - I'm not used to having a Tuesday to do what I want. As always, there's lots that could be done and things I should do, but I may just goof off. A nice cool start to the day, when I opened up the patio door, it was only about 60 F - so nice after all the heat we have had. Supper tonight will be BLTs as per hubby's suggestion. He so rarely suggests or asks for anything that when he does I will usually go along with it. Have a lovely day.

Good morning! Beautiful it is this early morning with the sun and lower humidity. Chris - So sorry to read about Brian and his challenges. Praying that all goes well with the surgery. We sat with another couple at dinner last night. It was good to have others to talk to! Dinner was outstanding. The special was a German dinner. It consisted of a large wurst with a rye bread/potato dumpling, sauerkraut, and fresh green beans. I was in heaven!!! Bill had the shrimp with herbs de Provence, rice with leeks, and peas. Not sure what we'll be doing today. Bill will go walking outside. I will do a Curtis Adams DVD either here or in the lobby if others want to join me. Have a great day! Waving!

Chris, that had to be so hard for Brian to hear. Praying for him as he goes through surgery, recovery, and transition.
Tasty, we have a cooler day today as well -- 80s instead of 90s, and I'm pretty happy about that. I hope you enjoy some time to do whatever strikes your fancy!
Ann, hard to beat good food and good company. I did one lap of my usual morning walk before I stumbled and skinned both my knees! Feeling a little sheepish about that but, oh well, I got right back up.
Waving to everybody --

Good morning. Chris I'm so sorry to hear of Brians back issue and surgery. Prayers for a successful surgery and good recovery. {{{HUGS}}}
Emr, no way can I get back up by myself when/if I take a tumble. I'm so happy that you didn't get hurt badly when you fell. {{{HUGS}}}
Ann, I'm glad you enjoyed your meal. Even being full blooded German, your meal did not entice me at all. But wouldn't it be boring is we all like the same things>
Last night I slept pretty good thanks to the stronger sleep aid. And I didn't get up until 6:15. After taking Mandy to her busniness meeting, I watered my cacti and my neighbors. Then I proceeded to plug in the air compressor to clean out the reusable air filters for the HVAC. The one in here was so filthy. I think it had been forgotten a couple times. But all of that is done. I'm waiting for the filters to dry and then I can put them away until needed. I'm now drying off and then I'll go back outside and rinse off the car and golf cart. I'll need a shower after all the outside work. Too hot to do much outside but I've put it all off longer than I should.
Toast and a swiss cheese mushroom omelet and toast for lunch. I'll have to see what I have to work with in the freezer to make supper.

Chris, so very sorry to read the latest on your DS. It had to be a bittersweet moment to get that news for all of you. He is in my prayers.
Only have a few minutes. I need to eat something for lunch, shower, dress and off to the satellite location for our hospital where I will be spending about 2 hours in the lymphedema clinic this afternoon. I have been waiting since May for this appointment. Today should be an evaluation and leg measurements (this is my 3rd go around) and then at the end we'll set up future appointments where I will be getting my legs wrapped. No cure---but if they can help me more comfortable and to walk a bit better, this is what I will be doing every six months.
Simple dinner---charred hotdogs with pushcart onion sauce. DH may make us a salad when we get back.
Waving to all.
Lori

Chris, I'm so sorry Bryan has had the bad news confirmed but glad he can proceed with surgery and get started recovering just that much sooner. Lori, hope your lymphedema evaluation goes well. How hard it must be for you in your everyday life. Hugs for all of you. Very clever wording again for "Mandy's business meeting" Mamma. You have a way with words that makes me smile. Oh no, Elza! Glad you could get back up and keep going. Unfortunately, I'm in a I've fallen and can't get up situation. Well, sometimes. I paid attention to a DIY I found online and it really works! Leftovers for supper tonite and a bowl of the good old Watergate Salad for dessert. Of course, I leave out the marshmallows and nuts. Just to make it perfect, you understand. Sweet dreams

Hello friends, Chris, I am so sorry Brian did not get better news. Hopefully surgery can be scheduled soon and he will get to feeling better.
Tasty, enjoy the cooler weather for me. 60 sounds so nice about now. I think we were to get up to about 103 today, so of course the heat index adds about 10*. I got up at 5 and worked on food for the mission. I dropped it off at 10, then came straight home, so have not had to get out this afternoon.
Ann, your German food sounds mostly good. I am not a fan of sausage but love all the sides. Lucky for me, DH loves sausage and always eats mine along with his. I usually order schnitzel.
Lori, hope your appointment went well.
DH had another doctor appointment, and then had therapy this afternoon.
Supper will be a pork roast, and mashed potatoes and French style green beans.
Waving to everyone!

So sorry to hear Chris. I hope for a speedy recovery. Couldn't get to sleep last night and of course, woke up early this morning. But can't complain about the cool weather.

Hello. Another day of getting here late. Our manager( maintenance) had a heart attack and died at noon today. He had heartburn and said he was going home and after Melinda and her husband finished eating they went to check on him.
Then this evening I went across the Greenway to get Doris food. We will have her for a month. Well, I could here this hissing sound coming from her propane tank and I got dh and he said he could smell propane. Zale didn't have an emergency number so the fire department was called.
Chris- prayers for Brian.
Elza- sorry about the fall. Glad you were able to get back up. I practice every week getting back up. It's not pretty.lol.
Welcome reb- come again.
Time to go water at Janices.
Elaine
