Morning! It's another banner start to the day as was yesterday. We had a lovely, lazy Sunday. Will start this week off with attending another exercise class. I will make sure I get off on the right floor coming home this time! Have no time to spend on the computer this morning so will return later. Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- Better get off on the right floor! LOL It is a gorgeous start to our day here too! Clear skys and bright sunshine. Did not get to see the Aurora borealis last night nor the Perseid meteor shower as there were too many clouds when I was awake. It cleared out after midnight but I fell asleep.
We are headed up to Dartmouth for Brian's neurology appointment to see when he has his surgery in a just a few hours. He is hoping they will schedule it soon to get it over with. They did tell him a year of recovery.

Good morning. Chris, Brian 's surgery gets my prayers. I can understand about the about the scheduling. I hate waiting for that part of the process too. You may not hear much from me next few days. I'm not sure if I'm going to feel like sitting at the computer or phone. At least this time I have an aide coming with me to the hospital on the transportation so I'll have someone watching out for me when I'm sent home. We had what appeared to be a tornadic storm pass about 25 miles north of us into a mostly unpopulated heart of the Southern Adirondacks. It passed over the region where my friend's farm is. I hope they didn't lose any crops. Just another nasty storm to add to the list. Now today we are getting Lake Effect rain and it is cool with a high in the 60s. Lady Ontario is getting practice for sending us snow this winter! Yesterday afternoon the bald eagle visited us again, this time on the ground for about 20 minutes poking around what looks like bones. One of the resident's visitors got a picture of it on their cell phone and was absolutely thrilled. I am posting the picture my aide took with my camera last week. Pretty cool. Have a good day. Birdy

Good morning friends. Yesterday I had the best day that I have had in quite awhile. In the morning I just sat and de-stressed. It felt so good to just do nothing and relax. I set the table as nicely as I could and Lynda liked the efforts as well as the food. I sent some of the pasta salad home with her too. After lunch we chatted for a bit and then headed to the craft room and showed each other new techniques. It was so much fun. Lynda is so creative that I learned a lot. It was after 3 when she left, we both had dogs that NEEDED to get OUT. hehehe Or we would have gone on for more hours creating.
About all I did after that was wash the dishes and reflect on so many things. It was a wonderful day.
Now today I have to take back the numerous items to UPS, that I ordered from Amazon for the other place. None was opened and no longer needed. I also want to make a trip from there to WM for a watermelon. I hope they still have the Kandy brand that I like. I'm out of ice cream so I'll get that too. Frozen things like ice cream are not a good thing to order for deliver unless you want it to come as soup. No other plans for the day.
OMG, Birdy, a beautiful picture of my favorite bird. Thanks.
Chris add my prayers for Brians surgery too. {{{HUGS}}} Blessings in abundance to all.

Good Morning ! I have a free morning, that was not expected. I slept in a little, drank my coffee and slowly woke up. My favorite kind of morning. I got myself ready and made my grocery list, went to get my car keys and they were gone. So, I looked out in the driveway and saw my car was missing. I knew DH had a doctor appointment but I am so used to him driving the truck. He does not want to drive that lately because of the brake situation, so I sure did not want to drive it. So, I am waiting on him to get home and we'll eat something or other for lunch, then I will shop this afternoon.
In the meantime I am doing laundry.
Supper is going to be a new to me chicken dish. Sauteed chicken breasts in a mustard cream sauce. We'll probably have rice with it and maybe a salad.
Mamma, so glad to read about your peaceful and fun Sunday. It's nice to have a friend with a lot in common.
Birdy, that is a great photo. Praying for your surgery to go well, and a quick recovery.
Chris, hope Brian can get the surgery scheduled soon. Having to wait for a long time is such a pain.
The ladies brunch is this Saturday at church, so I need to double check my grocery list for that, and plan what can be done ahead. I am planning a vegetarian theme.
Time to check on that laundry...have a super day!

I got a surprise jury summons in the mail over the weekend. Didn't think I'd still be served at this late stage. At one time I would've loved the opportunity but was happy to opt out this time. I'm washing a couple loads of laundry. Not much else happening so will enjoy my quiet day. Supper will be a small Crustless Spinach Quiche with slaw and sliced tomatoes. Sweet dreams

Woohoo, they still had the good watermelon and I got a really good one too. The produce guy thought he was helping me by bringing melons to me, but I kindly told him I know exactly what I want and thank you. He watched me closely and then smiled as I put one in my cart. I also got some ice cream.
The garbage has been taken out and some of my returns are already being credited to my credit card. Oh happy day.
When I went to unplug the charger this morning it was still charging. It should have been done after 8 to 10 hours. So out it goes. It doesn't plug into the outlet vey well either. So I ordered a charger like we had on the other golf cart only a 48 volt instead of a 36. This cart has 6 batteries the other only had 4. The charger will be here tomorrow and all my returns will cover the cost of the charger and still leave me with a big credit on my card to cover bills that go there. It all works out.
Tam, yes, a nice surprise for you to just relax and enjoy your morning. Woah, missing car, would have freaked me out. And I can understand why neither of you want to drive the truck.
Helen, UHG, I hate jury duty. I was on jury twice in MN....you don't want me on any jury. I was called twice here but I have a medical release so the doctor took care of that. Don't know why I got called a second time, my medical issues won't ever go away, only get worse. Doctor fixed it again, the right way.
Dishes are done, laundry folded and put away. Now to sit and relax some more and then finish the cards we started yesterday. My son sent me a project to work on too, so I better get to that one of these day.

**Afternoon! Our luscious day turned into a looming dark cloudiness. This morning, forecasters said it was going to be a passing happening, but it' stuck!!! Exercise class was good. Have to really push myself...my stamina is not what it used to be since I've neglected most exercise during the move. I made the lasagna after I took a shower. I put 4 layers in a Pyrex bread pan. Looks good! We registered to vote this afternoon. Should be interesting...there is only one polling place...the HS gym! We will be going downstairs for dinner. I have a hankering for either the blue cod or turkey tenders with mashed cauliflower and roasted carrots. Will see what the nightly special is before I decide. Birdy - Loved the picture of the eagle. We haven't gone birding since last winter when we looked for snowy owls at Parker River. Looking forward to starting up again. Elaine - Smiled at your cooking adventure! Helen - Glad you could bow out of jury duty. Since I've served 4 times, I feel I've done my duty, and would not choose to serve again. Love a crustless quiche. TOH has a really good one. When I made it, I omitted the ham and had sausage on the side. www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/crustless-spinach-quiche/ Just looking at the picture makes my hungry!! Tammy - I'd be interested in your vegetarian menu! I can never sleep if Bill gets up before me. I can nap in the afternoon, though! Back later...something to do...! Waving!

Back from the store. DH was already home for the day, so he helped carry it all inside. Nice since the heat index is 103.
Ever since I turned 72 I have been able to opt out of jury service. I have heard recently that they have upped the age to 75 now.
When I say "vegetarian" menu, I just mean I am not doing protein. The menu is: Spinach Won Ton Cups, Tomato Bruschetta, Cucumber Salad, Fresh Fruit with Rainbow Dip. This dip is a plain cream cheese dip but divided into about 3 sections and each small dish is colored with a small amount of colored jello. The cucumber salad is a Valerie Bertinelli recipe and consists of rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and English cucumbers. The cups are won ton wrappers placed in a muffin tin, sprayed with Pam and baked 5 min. Fill with a mixture similar to spinach artichoke dip and bake. If anyone wants any of these exact recipes, let me know. The bruschetta is a Valerie recipe also.

We are hot and humid again but oh well. It will be this way until probably late October -- if not into November!
I stopped to run a couple errands on my way home from work, including our local produce market for some of their romaine lettuce. Love that stuff.
Dinner tonight will be a recipe I tried maybe a year or so ago, and liked, but for some reason haven't made again. It's Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles -- ground beef with soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, pepper, brown sugar, and beef broth. I have that simmering in the electric skillet and spaghetti noodles cooking on the stove. I'll mix the drained noodles into the beef & sauce and then serve topped with chopped green onions. It's smelling good. Mini egg rolls and salad for sides.
Birdy, so glad you have surgery scheduled and someone to travel with you. I feel better about that and I know you do too. And thanks for posting that stunning picture. So regal.
Chris, hope Brian's surgery can get done ASAP. That is a long recovery time.
Mamma, it made me happy to read about your lovely day. And the items you returned covering the cost of the new golf cart batteries -- that's a win!
Ann, you are getting all the things done that go along with moving to another state. After doing our taxes in 2013 after moving back to SC, I told DH we have to stay here forever. I don't want to do any more multi-state tax returns!
Tammy, glad you & DH were both able to get your errands done and I know you appreciated help carrying in those groceries. Hope you can get the brakes repaired soon.
Helen, I know jury duty is important but I am glad you were able to be excused. Your spinach quiche sounds delicious.
Well, let me go get things going for us to eat. Stay cool, everybody!

Hi. Just getting here. Oh my gosh the day has gotten away from me. I did have book club this morning. Then Joyce asked for help at her house( this is the one whose husband is on hospice). After that Zale needed me to print some papers for tomorrow's meeting. Then I played cards and then Joyce are next door neighbor asked if I would help her move her rowing machine. Then I went over and tied a downspout on judys house that the palm tree guys broke, grrr. Now, I am going to get 8 piece chicken from Albertsons as it's only $4.97. We will have that with a bowl of soup.

Busy day from the time I got up, to now...so tired I'll fast asleep in no time. Looks like another busy day tomorrow. I'll try, but no promise, to get here a bit earlier when hopefully I still have a little energy to write. Birdy, thinking of you and saying a prayer that your procedure will be a success. Waving to all! Sweet dreams! Lori
