Good morning gang. The rain seems to be over and we should have a mix of sun and clouds today with temperatures in the low 70s - sounds pretty good for a market to me. Nothing new here, same ol', same ol'. Off to have some coffee before I leave.
Have a great day.

Good morning! Pouring rain woke me up around midnight with its pounding on the roof. Slept later since I didn't get right back to sleep. We had cheeseburgers last night with fries and a big dish of homemade quick pickles that my friend gave me. I used my immersion blender to purée the rest of the roasted vegetables into a pasta sauce. Will use it for lasagna/shells this week. Light housekeeping will entertain us today. Bill will make his pork tenderloin with mustard sauce tonight. I ordered the vegetarian vegetable plate from the restaurant to have with it. Have a great day! Waving!

Good morning friends.
We had tornado warnings last evening. Lots of damage around us. Trees down and flooding, again! This morning I am looking out a nice sunshine and no wind but a lot of limbs down all over. LOL Looks like a lot of small stuff in my yard so far. So clean-up day today.
Ann- We had torrential down pours around 7pm and again around midnight.
Lori- I am sorry to read so many got damage in your development. But I am glad to hear you are okay. Food Dude on the move! Good for him! Hope all goes well for him at the job. We don't start back until the end of August. DGD has to be back at college for her last year on the 25th and DGS not until the 26th.
Mamma- Good that you caught the problems now and not after purchase. So sorry it didn't work out.
Birdy- I hope all the financial stuff gets straightened out for you without too much frustration! Brian is going to have a similar surgery to yours. He is a bit nervous about it. He will be on short term disability for about a year. They they will see if he can do firefighting ever again. Dr said probably not.
Have a good day all.

Good morning, one and all. Tasty, thanks for starting us off. Best wishes that with the beautiful weather you are describing your market day will be another successful one.
Never got to making my Jell-o salad I was hungry for yesterday. Instead, I decided to catch up on the laundry and tackle the ironing. Not sure I'll get to it today either as after a few cups of coffee this morning I will get busy making stuffed cabbage. Lots of work, but so worth it! My DB went to our favorite butcher in the Eastern Market (Detroit) the morning we arrived and shopped for me. I brought 3 pies north from our favorite Amish restaurant for his family in exchange.
mamma, sorry your move fell through, but better to know of the problems awaiting you now and not later.
When we left Michigan on Wednesday morning, it was 42* and there was frost on the truck window shield. Yesterday it was 96 for a high with a feel-like of 108*---what a difference! Another hot and humid day expected again. All eyes are watching as there is an Invest brewing out there, following the same patch as Debby. I don't want to see anyone hit with a hurricane, so I hope it turns north in the Atlantic and just stays out there.
DH is finally up, so I'm off to make myself coffee and then to get busy in the kitchen. Waving to everyone and wishing you a bright and beautiful day! Lori

Good morning. Chris and Lori, I'm glad you came through Debbie without major damage but it still wasn't a fun experience I'm sure. Phooey to the possibility of another one cooking up out there in the Atlantic
We had heavy rain and winds gusting to 50 yesterday which wasn't too bad for us here at the medical complex. We only lost power briefly twice. But lots of trees that had been weakened by storms earlier in the summer came down in the city and towns around us. I always feel so bad to see a tree fall, especially an old one. It has been a bad summer for that. And another EF 0 tornado hit the state the southeast of us closer to New York City which brings our total for the state to 28 for the year, another record broken and in only a couple of weeks.
Chris, so sorry to hear about Brian. Hopefully, they are catching it earlier than mine, though.
Mamma, I"m sorry to hear about your disappointment about the move. But learning about the problems before you bought the house is definitely a plus. You will have another opportunity I am sure.
Sunny and nice today so I hope to get outside for a while. Have a good day.
Birdy

Good morning. I'm just sitting drinking coffee until time for swim class. I have my side of the bed stripped so when I get home I can put the bedding in the washerif dh is up.
Last night we had a sub for supper. It was on a 6 inch hoagie bun. I was still hungry so I had a couple of cookies . We still have enough to have subs again but I'm going to add soup to the menu. I am thinking of making some cheese burger soup.
Tonight is the night I water at Janice's. I'm going to take our dirt devil and clean up feathers on her patio. It looks like a cat got a bird and she has feathers all over her carpet. I did try sweeping but that didn't work.
We will be watching the preseason Vikings game this afternoon.
It's suppose to be 111° but humid again.
Elaine

Sounds like a good deal Chris. What strange weather today. Everything from bright sunshine to rain to a tornado warning! We ended up taking the top off our tent because we had 3 people hanging on to a corner each to make sure the tent didn't blow up up and away. It wasn't a bad day for us but it was quite slow at times, slow enough that I took off to shop for the jalapenoes that I couldn't buy yesterday. I did get enough, buying some at the farm stand we use and the rest from a local grocery store. The farm stand has just started harvesting the jalapenoes and strangely enough, was cheaper than the grocery store. Before I fall asleep I shall say bye for now - I am exhausted! Don't know why because I slept well last night and didn't work hard this morning.

Good afternoon. Mandy was quick on this hot sticky morning. And as soon as I finished my one cup of coffee I headed to the other place to hang the clean curtains and bring Mandy's bed and the RO system home to be returned. While there I turned on the AC. It took over an hour for the temp to drop 2º. That is clear that the HVAC is not big enough for that place. I'm so glad I passed on buying. I learned a lot of its faults in the week I was coming and going there.
After lunch I let Annie loose on this neglected home. She had to empty twice. How embarrassing. But the floors are cleaned and scrubbed as well. Now to get to the dusting. UGH. The craft room is still not very organized but I'll get to it yet today. As you all know, I don't like messes. So it will be nice to have my home as it should be. Clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy, BUT not messy. LOL
I'm skipping church tomorrow. I don't need the stress of dealing with Marylee on top of everything else. I just want a day that is as stress free as can be. I've invited Lynda over for lunch after church. I'm thinking of making a chicken pasta salad. I'll pick out the chicken or choke it down. LOL Lynda says she likes anything she doesn't have to cook. LOL

Good afternoon ! I did not post yesterday, nothing really to say. Just work then leftovers for supper.
I worked today, DH attended the men's breakfast at church. Not sure what is for supper yet. I have a menu made for next week but neglected to plan anything for today-lol.
Chris, enjoy the "hiney"-personally I would prefer Honey. :)
Mamma, I'm sure you are disappointed but as others have said it is best to know the problems before and avoid them. Hoping something more suitable will come along.
DH needed some things for today's breakfast so I rode along and while at the HEB, I ordered a case of frozen rhubarb. I gave them a date of September 15, but don't need it until November1.
One of my volunteers, Bobby, brought me a recipe for chicken spaghetti. His wife made it about a week ago. He said he usually does not care for chicken spaghetti but this particular dish was fabulous. It has a can of Rotel tomatoes in it. I may try it this week.
Waving to all, have a wonderful evening and a nice Sunday.

Lots going on today -- I've been busy too. After our Coffee Chat this morning, I stopped at Target (didn't find what I wanted), then at Big Lots (didn't find what I wanted), and finally Sams, where -- yay! -- I found what I was looking for! And filled up my car at a lower price than our local station. After all that running around, I was hoping to get satisfaction somewhere! I should add, my first stop was Brusters to try their new Campfire S'mores ice cream so the sugar rush helped me get through all the Saturday traffic.
At home, I have just finished the job I planned for this weekend, of cleaning out the refrigerator and freezer. They look so nice and neat and I can actually see what's in there! Now I'm ready to fix something to eat and maybe just sit down with a book for a while. Later on I'll turn on the TV and fold the sheets and towels that got laundered earlier.
Yesterday was cloudy and cooler but today the heat is back on: 93 degrees with a "feels like" of 102!

Good afternoon, friends. Just got done in the kitchen. Sampled the stuffed cabbage and yum-o, dinner is going to hit the spot for sure. Afterwards, I ran the dishwasher and emptied it, so the kitchen looks to be an easy clean-up after we eat this evening.
Tasty, it has been breezy here since we arrived home, but today we are pretty calm and quiet. From the sounds of it, Debby wanted to share herself with you today. Hope you are resting comfortably with your legs up this evening.
Tammy, what are your plans with all the rhubarb your ordered?
mamma, I hope tomorrow will be stress-less as can be for you, except maybe for picking out the chicken from the pasta salad! Have a nice visit with your friend!
Chris, although I'd really like a bottle of honey, sounds like you got a nice swap for some "hiney"! Thanks for the laugh!! Sorry to read that Brian is in need of surgery---praying everything will work out for the best for him.
Ann, what is involved in making quick pickles?
Birdy, I saw on the news earlier this morning about the "strange" weather the state of New York has been experiencing this year. Seems that many states are competing for that title!
Elaine, hope you were able to clean up all the feathers with the Dirt Devil. A bird flew right into the big picture window before we left Michigan---left a brown mark on the window and feathers. The sun and heat baked it on, and we had a difficult time cleaning it off. How did the preseason opener game go for your Vikings? Sadly, we weren't able to watch the Detroit Lions opener once we came back to Florida, but my DB said he wasn't impressed. Tonight, I am hoping to watch the Tampa Bay Bucs opener against the Cincinati Reds.
Have a nice evening everyone. Lori
