Good morning! It's very tropical out there with pouring rain. We will have on and off heavy showers and a low risk of 'spin ups'. I guess that term is a new way to warn us of tornados. Yesterday, I attended the exercise class...aerobics, stretchy bands, & weights. It was fun, but I was pooped afterwards. When returning to the apartment, I spaced out when folks I knew from my floor appeared when the elevator door opened so I got off. Come to find out, I was on the wrong floor. I tried to get into D205 thinking it was D405! The fob didn't work, no one answered my knock...! I didn't have my phone. A couple invited me to their unit to use their phone, and a custodian showed up. He pointed out that I was on the wrong floor. I was so embarrassed! Last night I made grain bowls using some cooked sausage I had in the freezer with more of the roasted vegetables. Lasagna/ stuffed pasta is still on my list. I have about 2 cups of roasted vegetables that I will purée with some tomato sauce. Not sure what dinner will be tonight. We will be going grocery shopping. No other plans at the moment. Have a good day! Waving!

Good morning friends. Today is Veggie Van Go day. Not sure I will be going. My neighbor called and asked me to but it will depend on how I feel at 8m.
Ann- How embarrassing for sure! LOL But sounds like something I would do! And have done. On a cruise ship no less! Wrong floor wrong room but my card opened the door and I walked in! two strange guys sleeping in the beds! LOL
Lori- So glad you made it home safely and that your house is okay. Will keep your neighbors in my prayers. I wonder if school will be delayed due to the flooding.

Good morning guys. Been a busy week and I haven't made it here too much to post altho I have managed to read. Had to chuckle Ann - we've all done something similar - no harm done. Lori - so happy to see that your house came to no harm when Debby went thru. I know you must have been very relieved. I do feel tho for those whose homes have been damaged. Belated birthday wishes to your hubby. Debby is supposed to be here today. We've had some rain over night but it's dry right now. Just checking the forecast and we could have somewhere between 2 and 4 inches today but as usual, the radar shows the rain splits and mostly seems to go north and south of us. Time will tell. Mamma, things are moving ahead quickly for you. Do you have an idea yet of a moving date? So happy to see that you have the timing now of your procedure Birdy. Hoping everything goes smoothly for you. Good that the clubhouse has re-opened Elaine. You guys rely on that meeting place. Will they still carry on with the planned improvements? It's always nice to have some meals ready to go in the fridge Helen. Sounds like work life is going to be rather chaotic until you get some more staff Elza. Hope your manager appreciates your offer to help out. I like your idea of therapy, Tammy. I don't do facebook but have been wondering about Marlene - has anyone seen anything of her? Waving to all, and wishing you a lovely day.

Good morning Tasty- We are supposed to get just a glancing blow from Debby. We don't need any mire flooding here. I have not seen Marlene on Facebook either. I check and have messaged her but no response.last time she was on FB was back in April.

Good morning
It's another hot sticky day with some scattered showers predicted. The sky is looking like it may have some rain but it could also change courses, which it often does. Anyway Mandy and I got out and back and didn't get wet.
Today I'm going to the other place and start washing out the cabinets etc. I still don't own the place but am working on that too. I think Mandy enjoyed having me home all day yesterday, although she was still kind of downhearted. But she got a lot of tummy rubs and hugs.
Good to hear that Lori was unscathed from the storm.
Ann, "spin ups" is a new one on me too. I wonder how they came up with that one.
OMG, Chris, I'm laughing so hard at your foopah.
Tasty, I have no move in date yet. I think I'm dragging my feet. Actually I'm waiting for Oscar to give me an update on some water spots on the ceiling of the storeroom. Once I know what it is, I'll move forward or stop.

Good afternoon, friends! Hope this finds you having a lovely day!
Had to grocery shop this morning and stop the hold on our mail/pick up what was waiting. Gave us a chance to drive down several different streets and see what was happening. The water has finally gone down on most of the streets---a few still at street level, but the majority are below now and open. I've lived here since September 1983 and I've NEVER seen it look like it does now. I can't remember if it was Sunday night or Monday night, but there were two tornadoes that we got alerts for. Neighbors tell us they went right over the houses here in the neighborhood and took off the roofs of two homes in the back of the subdivision. Feeling so blessed it didn't hit us, but my heart is hurting for others. Lots of downed trees and flooded out cars, you can bet the insurance companies are busy here. Coming south, from the state line down to about Lake City, lots of standing water and downed trees. First time for everything--we saw flashing billboards saying if traveling west into the panhandle of the state, be prepared, go at your own risk and be careful!
Food Dude got several calls this morning confirming when he is available to begin work. He will start on Wednesday, the 14th, as of now. He's so excited as they requested him back at his all-time favorite elementary school. He could be here several weeks until they finish training the new person they hired.
I need to head into the kitchen to pack some things away. In between, I've got laundry to do and I'd like to make a Jell-o salad I'm hungry for. Took a frozen Mac and Cheese out to defrost and that will be dinner this evening.
Waving to everyone! Lori

Happy Birthday to Lori's DH! So glad you came home to your house untouched by the storm. It's cooler here with 73 degrees at the moment. Rain is in the forecast with a high of 89 tonite, though. Ann, I can understand how embarrassed you were but many of us can surely sympathize. Chris, for example. 😊 And yes, I have a time or two myself. Tonite's supper will be chicken, fried potatoes/onions, both with gravy. Will order out tomorrow nite, probably pizza. I'll hopefully be napping soon to the sound of rain falling on the roof. Sweet dreams

Hi, all. This turned outto be an unexpectedly busy day here. I had to call my retirement rep to request and some import into my banking account so that I wouldn't overdraw. When applying for Medicaid and making the Family Trust, things got switched around and I lost track of a few and it looked as though I would bounce and check this month unless I get it. It's not a matter of not having the money, but a cash flow situation.
So, I got a late start calling my rep and we had a power outage just before I called. The generator is only available on red Outlets and the nearest one to my computer was too far away. Luckily I could use it on battery. But when I called him I got a message that his cell phone was out of service. So I spent some time looking things up and getting ready and when I did call him that long suffering man spent a whole hour with me walking me through the website and what I needed to do. Unfortunately our Wi-Fi here was hiccuping and the website I was on stop responding. So I had to close Chrome and start all over again but eventually we got through it. He has sent me some paperwork and asked me to call him Monday morning about finishing any questions I may have.
Monday is going to be very busy because I also got a call from the lawyer today about some accounts that appear to be on my record that Medicaid found that I do not recall. So she's having me talk with the rep for both of these places on a conference call Monday afternoon. Oy vey!
Currently getting heavy rain and a few wind gusts with a flash flood alert and a tornado watch. However I don't think it'll be anywhere near what Lori dealt with. People are very jumpy here about the tornado though after our experiences in July.
Lori, I am so relieved that things turned out well for you. So sad for all of those people who have had problems this year with weather damage.
Hope all of you up the East Coast are faring well today. Surely, this is got to be the end of this nonsense!
Take care and I will talk to you tomorrow.
Birdy

This morning while at the other house some major issues popped up that I could not afford, so I am no longer purchasing that place or selling mine, at this time. Glad the problems came before I purchased.

Good timing on that, Mamma, so you didn't find out after you moved! At least you know for sure where you need to be right now.
This afternoon I saw that there was water covering both sides of I-26 outside of Charleston so I knew DH would have to go around that. He texted after he got there and said it wasn't bad, just slow, and took longer than usual to get there. Thankful for Google Maps that will find you another way!
I had some Aldi egg rolls for my supper, and then baked a batch of Chocolate Chip Oatmeal muffins. Tomorrow morning is our monthly ladies' Coffee Chat at church so I will take those with me. Planning to get out and do a little shopping after that -- Target, Big Lots, and Sam's are on my list.

Had another busy day. Another batch of granola ready for tomorrow morning. I also shopped this afternoon, a little for us and also some stuff for the canning group. When we got home I prepped the jalapenoes for cowboy candy. Only thing was I couldn't get all I needed - I'll have to try again tomorrow for another 5 lbs. I made a fruit galette for us tonight - so good. We had peaches and a few blueberries to use up - such a good mix with some cinnamon and a touch of brown sugar. Hubby calls it a topless pie!
