Wow, what a pleasant change in our weather this morning. Our high today will only be 72 F. A few raindrops expected this morning but the canning kitchen will be a lot more pleasant and our a/c at home should not need to run all day. 'Tis the season to be busy in the kitchen, pickling and jamming. Will try to make it back later.

Good morning! It's very wet out there!! Knowing it's nothing compared to what Debby is producing in affected areas. Slept later than usual. I'm late because I was answering an email from the marketing folks looking for a testimonial about the culinary department. My FB posts have been shared!! Exercise class was a killer, but I recovered quickly and feel fine this morning. I signed up for a yoga class this morning, but will decide to participate if I can use a chair. This body can get down on the floor, but would not get up without a crane!!! We ordered up the turkey tenderloin dinner and it was delicious. I made a side salad with cucumbers & tomatoes (from my cousin) with a lemon vinaigrette. We put together the pantry closet door shelves and rearranged the contents. Looks great! Not sure what we'll do about dinner. No other plans. Have a great day! Waving!

Good early morning, Early for me anyway. It's Tuesday so I'm up early. I have 6 strombolis finished and waiting to go in the oven. While they bake I will do another 6.
I have finished the deviled eggs and all I need to do for the fruit salad is slice bananas.
Nothing else is on my agenda for today.
Looks like another sunny and hot day. As long as I have my a.c., that's just fine.
Everyone stay safe if you are in Debby's path.

Good morning.
Lori, that must be nerve-racking having everything happen with you so far away. We expect to get the tail end of Debbie by the end of the week. Right now it looks like it will be showers or slightly heavier rain. I don't think anything dangerous though.
I heard that Buffalo had an ef2 tornado yesterday right in the city. As of that event, the state of New York has broken its all-time record for the number of tornadoes in one year, and we still aren't out of summer yet!
I have an interview with a nurse from the hospital this afternoon for pre-op. Perhaps I might actually get a Time of surgery. Without that I can't schedule transport from the nursing home and I don't want to ask people to bring me back and forth since I will be coming out of anesthesia and the new parking garage at the hospital is not available except to staff at this time. So things could get complicated. Nothing is ever simple in this world.
Chris, I am so glad the insurance issue has been settled!
Mamma, I am excited for you. This move sounds like a good idea.
Bet, we had a heavy Storm come through south of us last evening which took down some trees but otherwise things have been fairly quiet here weather wise. One Oddball thing that happened was that lightning hit a crossing guard at a railroad crossing on a rural branch not too far from us. It activated the arm to go down so that no one could use the road until the railroad could repair the device.
It is cool here today believe it or not. We may hit 70!
Have a good day.
Birdy

Good morning. Very windy, hot and humid for the remainder of the week. UGH. Too bad I can't just stay home and do nothing. I have a mover coming this afternoon to give me a rough estimate on the cost to pack and move my things and another one on Thursday morning. Then more office visits and finish the paper work. Soon I hope to pay for the house and the legal transactions done so I can move somethings to the new place. That will be just little stuff I don't want to take chances on breaking. Since losing everything, what I salvaged is a treasure to me. I also need to go measure again. I was so overwhelmed yesterday that when i measured some windows I neglected to write down the measurements. Until I move from here it will be hectic. Enough said on that topic. And since that is all I have been and will be doing I really don't need to keep going on and on and bore y'all to tears.
Last night my meal at Red Lobster was not their usual quality. Everything was very greasy but it was hot and tasty. Karen and I had a good time chatting though. She picked me up so I didn't even have to drive. Good thing because I need to put gas in the car, it's too close to half.
Signing off...............

Good afternoon, friends! Hope this finds everyone well.
Earlier this morning, before leaving for the laundromat, we saw the local news station from back home. They had a reporter, live, on the main street in our subdivision (which we happen to live on). Right then and there, we looked at each other and knew we need to get back home. The water level did not look any better than what we saw yesterday and with none of our neighbors being able to get out of their own homes and check on the house for us, DH and I feel it's a must that we head back. Now with the laundry done, it's time to pack up what we can today, place it into the truck and do some last minute cleaning. Early tomorrow we'll put the last-minute items into the truck and hit the road. If all goes as planned, we should be back at our place sometime on Thursday afternoon.
Not sure what awaits us, but if there's any damage, it's done, and we'll deal with it like so many of our neighbors and friends will be doing. I will not be checking in here until late Thursday or early Friday. Until then, take care friends. Lori

Lori, saying a prayer that all is well on the homefront. I am pretty sure that MIL is not taking it well that you all are leaving early. In spite of the fact that you MUST go, she will probably still be upset about it. Safe travels.
I got all the food done, and delivered. I stopped by the shop because of a large donation sitting by the donation bin. A lot of stuff, most of it kind of junky. At least the ladies will have something to work on Thursday.
No plans for the rest of today.
Mamma, lots for you to do in the coming weeks! Exciting times.

Good morning. Lori- prayers that you find no damage to your home. Safe travels.
Tammy- did you happen to take a picture of your Stromboli. Is yours with pepperoni and salami? I have never made but want to try. I was looking at a recipe on Facebook this morning.
Mamma- glad the company was good last night since the food wasn't.
Tasty- I thought of you this morning as I was eating a muffin. Do you happen to have a bran muffin recipe? I bought bran flake cereal, raisins, lol, now I need a recipe.
Birdy- I hope you get a time so you can make arrangements.
Ann- love the pictures on Facebook. I am going to read that book.
I am making that cowboy casserole tonight. Last night we had left over meatballs turned into subs.

The stromboli had ham, salami and pepperoni on it. It was easy because of the store bought pizza dough, and jarred pizza sauce. I think the recipe came from an email I got. No photo of the ones I made this morning but I'll try to remember to take a pix of the one we will be having for supper!
The new girl working now on Tuesday said everyone LOVED the beef tips last week. I don't usually hear back any reviews of the food I take so that was good to know. I had to run into the store and buy another pizza crust, so went by the marked down meat and found 3 packs of beef round steak, so I am off to a good start on the next beef dish. Not sure yet if I will do something with hamburger or do pork chops next week. If I use hamburger I want to make lasagna. I got 3 large family packs of pork chops yesterday at Walmart, so with what I already have, that is probably enough to feed everyone.
The salisbury steak turned out good, in spite of me messing up the recipe. I looked through the list of ingredients and added it all with the ground beef. Then I noticed the ketchup and water was supposed to be in with the sauce, not the meat! It turned out fine anyway. I still have 1 can of French Onion soup to use. I might double the sauce next time I make it.
I stumbled on a rock or something similar while leaving the back door of the church. Luckily I caught myself and did not fall, but I can tell now that my ankle is aching slightly. Good excuse to stay off it! Have a nice afternoon and evening.

DD and I went to breakfast this morning. I saved some of the bacon and hash browns so will have a BLT for supper. Will season the hash browns and add cheese on top for a nice little casserole to go with. I have an abundance of good looking tomatoes so will marinate several of them, too. We had a nice time and even shopped at TJs while we were in the neighborhood. Great stuff there, as usual. I did notice prices were much higher than the last time I've been there. Of course, every time I order from any grocery I notice the difference. Lori, how awful you have to scurry home early to check your house and neighborhood. Have a safe trip home and no damage or very little when you get there. Hugs to all.

Hey, everybody. It's been a quiet day here -- gusty winds and clouds all day -- but we've been watching the coast. Looks like lots of rain and some local flooding but our folks there are okay.
I stopped at Ingles grocery store on the way home today since I'd seen they had ground chuck on sale. I browned it as soon as I got home. Put 3 lbs. in the freezer and used 1 to make spaghetti sauce for our dinner tonight. One night last week DH wanted spaghetti but we didn't have any noodles -- I think we've both bought them since so we are stocked up! LOL
Thinking of Lori & DH as they travel tomorrow, and praying they find their house is safe and dry.
Birdy, did you get a surgery time? Let us know when that is happening.
Mamma, hope the estimates are reasonable and what you were expecting. Lots to do, I know.
A big wave to everybody -- have a restful evening
