Refrigerator Angel Biscuits-Elza
1 pkg. yeast 2 Tbsp. warm water 2-1/2 c. all-purpose flour 2 Tbsp. sugar 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 6 Tbsp. shortening 1 cup buttermilk (can use 2 Tbsp. vinegar in 1 cup milk)
*Soften yeast in warm water for 5 minutes. Set aside. *Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in large mixing bowl. Cut shortening into flour mixture. *Stir yeast and 1/2 cup buttermilk into flour mixture, then rest of buttermilk. Cover and store in refrigerator. (I usually leave it overnight.) *Pat dough out on floured surface and cut into biscuits. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or till lightly browned.
Makes about 30 small biscuits
