Good evening,
I got the back yard cut, the whole yard this time, not just the overgrown weeds.
Stump bed is done, all filled, re-planted & border back in place. The only thing left is to put the bird bath in place after I paint the base, probably tomorrow. And put the Spider Plant back on top. That will probably be this weekend when Spring returns.
WM has a surfer gnome I want to get but it doesn't have to be right now. There is a piece of root sticking up from the ground that if I don't put something noticeable there I'll trip over it.
Tomorrow, I will work on the back Hosta bed so I can get the Columbine planted. That's the plan anyway.

I feel like I have been going nonstop today. The deacon didn't come nearly as quickly as I thought he would, so I got a late start on all my errands today. He's a sweet older gentleman who probably needed to see us today as much as we did him, or even more. The pastor (DH's parish) is forcing him off of the altar (not being able to read the Gospel anymore from the altar) because he fears an issue with the deacon's health may reoccur even though the deacon has letters from two doctors saying otherwise. He told us that the pastor broke his heart. I'm sure he did. The deacon's shut-in ministry means a lot to him, but at the heart of who he is wants very much to be able to keep reading the Gospel before the congregation on Sundays. I know he is hurting. It wouldn't surprise me if he gets in touch with my pastor to see what he can do in my church. He said he WILL continue to visit us and bring communion to DH. We're his communion family. Anyway, even though him being late set me back it was worth it. Some things are more important than what I had to do today. I got DH's prescription and gas at Kroger. Got my fluids topped off at Instant Oil Change, and also ran into Dollar Tree quickly before going to the car dealership. The Dollar Tree trip was too quick. I bought DH a pair of reading glasses but neglected to check for scratches before I bought them. Once home, I hoped what I was seeing was a smudge, but it isn't. There's a significant scratch. They didn't cost much, but I also don't want to keep them regardless of the cost. So, I'll go back to DT to return/exchange them. I drove the van when we finally got to the dealership. DH wasn't ready when I went back to pick him up. I wasn't so sure he would go with me at all since he had mentioned not wanting to go. He did go. We like the van and probably will get it if someone else doesn't before us. I know it is a common sales tactic to tell customers that other people are also interested in a product. Maybe that is true here, but I was not going to be rushed. With my van, they are not going to give me anywhere near in a trade-in what I could get if I sold it myself. DH is hell-bent from here to breakfast that we should sell the van ourselves. To do that, I will need to carry insurance on both the vehicles until I sell our van. I didn't like that idea much, but Jerry tells me he thinks we would sell the van in a couple of days for at least double what the dealer was offering. It would probably behoove me to do what I don't want to do. Jerry did look at the vehicle we may buy and said we ought to have them rotate the tires at the very least since the front ones are more worn than the back which look pretty new. I mentioned that to the sales manager who did offer two new tires but that was still going to be at their asking price. I never should have told the guy originally what my limit was because you might know the price he quoted me is darn close to that. It's over it by $400 now, but it will be $900 if I don't take the trade-in. Of course, I can probably make that up in selling mine at a higher price. I hate being the one that needs to decide on this. This is made harder by this van having the features we really do want. I tried getting an offer from Carvana and Carguru but neither of them wanted the van. LOL! Imagine the audacity of not wanting to buy a 19 year old van. What the heck! So, it looks like I am putting a FOR SALE sign in the window of the van and parking it out front. We got lucky with DH's van a while back and someone came to the door and offered us $500 for a non-working van. Maybe we can find a buyer for this one easily also. This growing and stretching outside my comfort zone is hard. 😂 Dealing with the van stuff all day meant no phone calls on the lift chair purchase. It's always something. Sometimes more than one something at once. LOL! DH got kinda lucky for supper tonight. He wanted fast food. I needed to go into Meijer for a FOR SALE sign, so I picked up a few extra fruit items he would like before heading to Taco Bell. We haven't had that in ages. DH was thrilled! Well, I am getting a text from a family member that doesn't usually do that. I best go see what is up. Wishing everyone a good rest of the night.

Karen, we/I haven't traded in a vehicle in ages. Always sold them ourselves. The only one I did trade in was because I knew it wasn't worth much to start with & needed numerous repairs. Trading that one was easier. Good luck whatever you decide to do.
