Good morning. Just popping in quickly to put the lights on. I'll leave a tray of oatmeal nutella bars to go with tea or coffee. Made them yesterday, turned out nicely, not too sweet. We overlook the grocery store here in town and at 6 am this morning there was already a truck there making a delivery! So early. BBL - have a great day 😊.

Good morning. Grey and cool again.
Yesterday I was excited to get out while the sun was shining. That didn't happen the breeze was blowing around 30mph and the temp felt like 32* to cold for me. Today isn't supposed to be any better. So I puttered inside. I did get the sunflowers started. I just want them big enough to harden off and plant out when the time comes.
Need to water seedlings today and whatever else comes my way. I may get outside if the wind calms down.
Mary glad your sister is doing better.
Have a peaceful Sunday.

Good morning everyone. It is 31º and going to mid 50s later. 50s are acceptable after the cold temps we've been having. Yesterday I went to the neighboring town for a few groceries and then just did some household chores here. Around 4 I went to visit Larry's brothers wife. She has had a tough week so I thought she'd like some company. Her baby brother's wake and funeral was Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday would have been Larry's brother's birthday so I know those days can be difficult. She was happy I stopped over. I got home about 6:30.
I've got a rhubarb custard cake baking right now and when that comes out of the oven, the beef roast will go in. I am not making mashed potatoes, but rather doing a pot roast with potatoes, carrots and celery. We will also have green beans and seafood salad.
Tasty....thanks for opening and providing those good treats. We have 2 grocery stores in the neighboring town. One is open on Sunday and the other has a sign on the door..."We are closed on Sundays to allow our employees to have a day with their families".
Sandy...It's hard to be patient waiting for Spring weather to be outside, isn't it? I still have piles of leaves to pick up from last Sunday. Hopefully I can get that done this afternoon when my company leaves.
Mary Marnee....Yay on the good news about Shar. It is good that her DD got her in asap or she would have been in severe pain until the middle/late part of this week and it may have been a surgery rather than a procedure. Prayers for a quick recovery for her.
Karen...Keeping my fingers crossed that the recliner on FB proves to be just what you need.
Bette....Yes, they will be coming to my house for noon dinner.
Wendy....You okay? I see you've been reading, but I'm missing your posts.
I need to get busy or I will still be in my jammies when they get here. Happy Sunday to all. Charlene

Good morning. Sunny and the trees are swaying at the moment. 35 headed to 55 but 20 mph wind again. I may never get the leaves off my beds. Yesterday I painted all day and it was 8:30 by the time I was showered and sitting down for the night. Its all the things like wiping the walls down, taking down curtain rods and pictures, then putting stuff back up at the end thats killer. Its looking really good tho and totally different. Have one living room wall left and the stairwell, which is going to suck! The ceiling height from bottom step to ceiling is about 16’. Requires the extension ladder. I told dh I needed help to get this done. I just want to finish this project!
Mary-So glad Shar is home and recovering.
Charlene-Enjoy your lunch.
Waving at everyone and hoping you have a great day.

Marlene...Yes it is fresh rhubarb! I pulled enough yesterday for this cake and still have a bag to take to work tomorrow for a fresh rhubarb pie. My rhubarb is in a very sunny spot and in sandy soil so it's always earlier than others. BUT...in a dry/hot year, it's the 1st to get tough.
Melissa....I bet your house is looking very nice. Will we see pictures? Please. You be careful painting that stair well....I think help would be necessary for sure.
Mary....When we traveled by car to Molly's in 2010, we ate at a Bob Evans. They seemed plentiful in the states we traveled through but none in our area. Congrats on the scrabble win!

Good afternoon. A cloudy dreary day here and may rain. Yesterday the area where oldest sons live got hit with a storm with winds and large hail. Son#2 texted that his car got beat up. It even had dents in the doors. He sent a pic of the hail on the ground but not one of his car. I don't think I really believed it until a niece in the same area posted a photo of what I assume was one of her cars. Her family was in Clemson for the day and got home to a bit of a mess. The car hood was riddled with dents and windows cracked. I haven't heard from oldest son. I saw online that high winds knocked over trees and quite a few were without power. My sons live close enough to town that their power is normally not out for long.
Charlene, I know everyone enjoyed the meal and appreciate you for preparing it.
Bet, hope you are able to rest up from your busy schedule.
Karen, hope the chair is still available and will work for him.
Have a peaceful afternoon.

Good afternoon! I had started to post earlier but was waylaid by DH, and then my chat with my cousin. I am a little surprised the post wasn't saved. It looked like it had been, but maybe there is a time limit on how long it stays saved. Anyhow ...
It's sunny and slightly breezy here right now. My phone app said that today would be abut 8° warmer than yesterday. I hope so. Once we get through this week, temperatures are supposed to rebound nicely.
Today's chat with my cousin proved to be very helpful. We talked through the situation with the chair. Overnight, I came up with more cons than pros to getting the chair off of Facebook and was feeling uneasy about the whole thing. My cousin came to the same conclusion as I did. For our circumstances and purposes, we'll be better off if I get a new chair that will come with a warranty. DH spends the vast majority of his time in the chair, so it is an important part of his life. It needs to be big enough for him and last for a while. I have no idea how long the chair on Facebook will last before I will have to seek out repair service on it. Maybe it will last a long time, but maybe it won't. Together, this morning, we revisited the website of the place I called and was told they don't have lift chairs. Maybe locally they don't, but online their website suggests differently. I will call both of the companies the insurance company gave me and see what we can work out. If I stay in network, I can get a decent chair for about $100 more than the one listed on Facebook. Additionally, the FB seller is being evasive. Originally, the chair was said to be in our town. It is not. When I asked his location, he told me a town about 15-20 minutes away. I asked about fabric protectant on the chair because I worried about prior hygiene issues with it. No fabric protectant. I asked for further information about his location since DSis#4 and her DH live in that town. All he gave me was by the local junior high and high school. I am not sure I understand his response of "I live in such and such a place, but can meet anywhere." How do you meet anywhere with a lift chair? Given my discomfort and the thought of not getting a warranty on the chair, I think it is best if I don't go the Facebook Marketplace route for this. My grandmother used to have a saying, "Karen, there is such a thing as being penny-wise and pound-foolish." I believe I am going with a more efficient way of solving this versus the cheapest way. If push comes to shove, I can always go the Walmart route and pay 50% of the cost. I'd just rather stay in network and pay the 20%.
As bizarre as yesterday was/felt, the highlight was getting a text from DSon with a photo of Mac helping to hold the banner in his Little League parade. I didn't realize he was playing baseball. I hope he enjoys it. Based on the photo of the team, he is one of the bigger boys on the team. A lot might be expected of him. I was going to ask about a video chat with the kids this weekend, but never did because of the neighbor coming yesterday. He didn't give a time frame so I didn't want to set up something with the kids before he came. Today probably won't work. I am going to church tonight and any time before that would be short notice. Maybe one night this week or next weekend. I am going to be curious how things are going with baseball.
Tasty, I never would have thought of Nutella oatmeal bars. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with you, Sandy, on that temp being too cold. I wouldn't want to be out then either. I'm starting to get a little nervous about my nicotiana seedlings. I may have started them way too soon. They are taking over the flat and making it hard on the seedlings around them to get light. I don't remember them acting this way before. I hope you can get outside today.
It is very nice of you to go spend time with Larry's sister-in-law, Charlene. The meal you are fixing sounds scrumptious. Lucky bachelors!
Marlene, wishing you a Happy Sunday also.
Yikes, Melissa, on the remaining wall you need to tackle. That sounds very difficult. Nice that things are looking so good for you after all that work.
Congratulations on that Scrabble win, Mary! Bob Evans is always good place to enjoy yummy food.
Linda, it is good to see you posting here today.
I'm passing those blessing back to you, Dave!
I'm sorry to hear, Leslie, about the storms in your family's area. I had heard that SC was in the path of some rough stuff and hoped you'd be okay. I think I needed a better plan for the chair, but we will see if I am right.
Well, I better go. I have plenty that I "ought" to do. Have a superb Sunday!

Good afternoon. It has been a rather busy day but at a relaxing pace for a change. Work up this morning to 27°and sunny. That was at 6:30. By 8:30 that was the end of the sun and it has been quite breezy. It did manage to get up to 44° which is right now. There was no way I was working outside today trying to get the spring clean up done. Actually when I walked in yesterday afternoon from work I took one look around and decided my house was a wreck and really needed some attention. Unfortunately haven't made any progress on that idea but have gotten a lot accomplished today. The third load of laundry is in the dryer and 3 loads have been folded and put away. My seedling are watered and then it was kitchen time. Dishwasher emptied, all food in the freezer packaged and moved to freezers downstairs and food in refrigerator portioned and into the freezer. All science project have been removed from the refrigerator. Dishwasher reloaded and needs to be emptied. Mixed up a new recipe for a loaf of white sandwich bread and is now sleeping in the refrigerator until morning when it will be baked. Now I start on the mounds of papers sitting everywhere. Most are work stuff. Have just been coming in at night and tossing all of the stuff from that day on a table instead of filing it and just loading up my work bag with the next days work. What a mess.
Sandy, I have taken a few days off to get outside. It looked like it might work but today was sure a bust. It is just down right nasty out there with the dampness, the wind and not sure. However, be happy at what you have been able to get done. I still have some piles of snow.
Charlene, I am sure Larry's DSL enjoyed your visit yesterday. I think unless you have experienced the loss of a spouse you have no idea how lonely it can be at times. I am sure your bachelors enjoyed their feast today. Your rhubarb cake sounds so great. I have made it several time. I have all but lost my rhubarb. I did see one little spot coming up. At the old house I had such a patch that I couldn't give enough away. I did pick enough last year that I still have some in the freezer but it isn't the same as fresh.
Marlene, waving back at you.
Melissa, the rooms you are painting much be looking great. Do be careful doing the stairwell. Sure doesn't sound like much full but I guess at your age I would have tackled it.
Mary, great on winning a scrabble yesterday.
Dave, I had one more candle than you in February.
Leslie, you know they say there is no rest for the wicked. Sorry to read about the hail damage to your son's car. That muct have been some pretty serious hail. Weather is so strange lately.
Karen, how great that Mac is playing baseball. I am sure it is Tball at his age but a good starting point for them. I think you made a wise decision on ot going for the Facebook lift chair. Never know what you are getting.
Linda, glad the hummers found your feeder. I still have a little time to wait before I see them. My winter birds stop by once in a while looking for food but I can't feed them now. I really don't like the bears visiting my upper deck so no more seed until those big black things decide it is time for a long nap.
Marnee, good news about Shar. Glad her DD was able to pull some strings and get her taken care of promptly.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet

Good evening,
It has been a cold, rainy, yucky day. Low 50s all day but feeling more like 40s.
I put my Spider plant out on the stump yesterday & was pleased with how it looked. Brought it back into the GH today. Probably would have been OK but better safe than sorry. Watered what needed to be watered in there this morning & I was going to sit in there paint my bird bath base, but too chilly for me. In fact I plugged the heater back in & set it on low.
Went to WM for a few things & Lowe's for bird seed. I see Mary bought compost/manure. No idea what's going on here, none to be found anywhere. Guess I'll have to use the Garden Soil in place of it this yr, I need to compare prices on that.
I was going to go to the dump, but rain started just as I went out the door so didn't get there.
Leslie, a childhood friend that lives in SC (I forget where) posted pictures from Rock Hill. WOW is all I can say. There were cars stranded on the Interstate with huge dents & one with the entire back window smashed out. Did your son(s) have a lot of damage?
When I got home, I sat down with a book, & had a bowl of soup for lunch & then fell asleep. A nice nap on a dismal, rainy day. When I woke up, I sent some time cleaning out some old paperwork
Melissa, be careful on that ladder. You couldn't pay me to do that.
Karen, the seller might have been planning to meet you with the chair in a pick up truck. And he might have been a little wary giving his address out online. But I think you're right to not buy 2nd hand (unless it's someone you know). Exciting about Mac playing ball. How old is he now? Are they all settled in their new home?
Dave, my 78 candles will appear in a few weeks.
