Good morning. It is a cool start at 29°but to hit 50°. It is sunny now but unfortunately if will cloud up this afternoon with rain tonight and tomorrow. Of course I am not working tomorrow so it is to start raining tonight and tomorrow. I am stuck at home tomorrow as DS is taking my car for inspection, oil change and hopefully summer tires. I can't take today off as my helper is suppose to show up this morning to do the job that I should have done last Friday. Yesterday was a tiring day at work but it all went well with no problems which seemed good. I am not used to 6 hours in one store so was ready for bed when I got home but managed to get some dinner before hitting the bed. Today will be just as long if not longer. Monday night's dinner went well. However we didn't have as many people as usual so lots of leftover. Everyone seems to like it as I saw a lot of seconds being taken.
Have a great day.

Good morning all. Our weather will be similar to Bet's but it's only April and to be expected. Hubby picked up his new CPAP machine yesterday and other of us slept really well last night! Quieter than the old one for sure. Today I'm meeting up with my golfing friend who lost her hubby while we were away. We've seen her a few times since we got home but today it will just be the 2 of us and we can talk etc. Later in the afternoon, hubby and I are joining some of the other canners and are going to the church supper. So a busy day but no work!! Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday 🙂.

I am running ahead of schedule this morning, so I have a few minutes to post. It is 54º and that's as warm as it's going to get today. We had a glorious rain yesterday! At 5 when I got home, there was 1.4 in the rain gauge and it rained a little more after that.
Today is work and then to Phyllis's to help her some. Yesterday we got a big cupboard in the kitchen cleaned out...2 bags of garbage.
Happy Wednesday to all. Charlene

Charlene, I guess it is a day of being a little ahead of schedule. I actually got a little time to read here and chat. Car is warming up and I am out the door however. Hope work goes well and lots of tips today.

Good Morning, I was here yesterday morning and the thread had not been started. Then I got busy and did not get back here until late. I had 1.50 inches of rain yesterday. It was welcomed by all. The welcomed rain was dampened by the news that a neighbor lost his barn along with 1 horse and 1 bull due to a fire. Bet, I hope today goes well for you. Six hours is a long day. Tasty, one on one is always special; as you said you can talk. Enjoy the church supper. Charlene, I am so glad you got rain. I thought of you as I heard about the tornadoes in Iowa

Good morning. It seems cloudy today but only going to 86, which is better than the 90 we had yesterday and 91 we are to get tomorrow. I have a few windows open at the moment but will close them soon before it gets hot outside. Right now it's 68. After I close them I will head to Aldi for a few groceries and then maybe get some things done outside. Maybe a stop at Lowe's for potting soil and bird seed on the way is in order. I have some things to transplant and will need soil for the other pots as well. Perhaps some flowers for the hanging baskets on the porch will jump into my cart. I noticed yesterday that my tomatoes have grown more since I put them outside in the sun a few days ago than in all the time they were inside or on the porch, but they still aren't as big as Charlene's. Last night, though, I dreamed that they grew 6 inches overnight. Wouldn't that be nice?
Charlene, hope you have a good day at work and get a lot more accomplished in the cupboard cleaning.
Bet, six hours would be a lot in that job. I don't think my back could take it. I had to take breaks in picking up and dragging limbs yesterday because my lower back felt like it had vice grips on it. I finally sat in a chair and worked on stripping dry leaves from the limbs. That will make it easier when I burn. I don't like to burn leaves.
Tasty, enjoy your time with your friend. I'm sure she will appreciate the one on one talk.
Marlene, that's sad about the fire.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.

Good morning. 39 and raining. Says high of 49 but will believe it when I see it. Thankfully the wind is not like yesterday. Duluth had gusts at 52 mph and waves on Lake Superior 12-15’ tall.
Just got off the phone with dh. With the time difference (8 hours) and his schedule we never even spoke yesterday. Today he is in a different town and toured the paper mill there. He was getting ready to go for dinner. I need to get organized and head to walmart. Have softball concessions to shop for so that will take time. I don’t necessarily feel like doing it but with the rain its as good of day as any.
Marlene-Thats unfortunate that they lost their animals. Barns can be rebuilt but sad to loose the lives of the horse and bull.
Guess I better get going. Have a great day.

It is clouding over so I am pretty sure we will be getting more rain than we got overnight. I'd love it if the storms that are predicted didn't happen and all we got was rain. Time will tell. I am heading to the museum in a little while. We changed the timing to the afternoon today to accommodate someone we thought was coming by to look over some things we have on the grounds, but she is elderly and doesn't want to be out with the weather being what it is likely to be at 1:00. There is also a reporter for the local paper coming to do a story on the dedication ceremony next month. That is set for this afternoon. The police officer I have been in contact with regarding some items he wants to loan us for the dedication has already stopped by and left them with the director who will bring them by to us this afternoon. Today might have been a day I would have rather skipped, but I am going anyway. Last night was difficult. DH's lift chair stopped working with him in the reclined position during (my) dinner time. I tried what I have done in the past to get it to go down, but it just wasn't working at all. I called the neighbor who had said to call if I needed anything. He tried to fix the chair but couldn't. What he could do was push the chair forward enough that DH could get himself up out of it safely. Now we are back to him being in the regular big man's recliner and another chair that used to be a lift chair but doesn't work either. The neighbor has asked a friend of his, another neighbor of ours, to come take a look at it and see if he could do something with the wiring. I have a feeling I am finally out of luck with the chair. I am going to have to invest in a new chair whether I like it or not. I never finished my supper or called DM back as planned because of the commotion with the chair. I was beat to the socks by the time I hit the bed last night. God love, DH. He tried to turn on my lights this morning and ended up knocking over the clip-on lamp, which he felt very bad about. I clamped it back on in one of the few places it will fit on the table, only to have it get knocked over again. I think he tried to go between the sofa and the table with his walker and jostled the light. Nothing was hurt very badly. I'm very thankful, though, that I have the LED lights I do now. They don't get hot. My old bulbs would have burned the seedlings upon contact. It's been a morning. I have gone back and forth about a prescription for DH with both Kroger and the doctor's office. I got a call from Kroger a couple of days ago about the doctor not responding to a request for a refill. When I looked in the cupboard for additional bottles of a new med I see that he needs, I saw we have 2 bottles of what Kroger said the doctor didn't respond on. He didn't because we didn't need it yet. However, I am very antsy about the one he does need now. He has one pill left of his anxiety medication. That will get him through tomorrow, but if the doctor doesn't act on the refill right away I will pay for that in DH's behavior. According to Kroger, they have already messaged the doctor about the refill. I am not sure I trust either of them to take care of this in a timely manner. I usually dole out the meds, but DH pretty reliably takes his morning meds before I get up. This is one of those pills so I had no idea he was so low on them. I just assumed Kroger would auto refill them like everything else. Turns out they can't on this type of medication. Guess I will just have to wait and see what happens. I need to put on some tunes, starting with "It's Gonna Be a Good Day!" LOL! Have a wonderful Wednesday. I need to get in the shower and head out.

Good morning, everyone. We started with frost on the rooftops and temps in the 30s and should see temps warm to the mid-60s. We are now seeing blue skies and sunshine.
Yesterday my annual eye exam with my Ophthalmologist went well and with very little changes in my vision I don’t need to get new glasses. My appt was the first one of the day and it took almost 8 hours for my dilated eyes to return to normal.
Marlene, I am so sorry about the fire and the loss of your neighbor’s barn and especially sad about the horse and bull.
Bet, you really put in some long days. I am glad your Monday night’s dinner went well.
Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon, it is spritzing here, barely enough to wet the pavement. The worst of it went south of us. It is currently 61°.
Getting company on Friday, guess I have to clean. Or I could just wait and let them be discussed and do it for me. No, I don't think they would do it for me. Sigh.
Have a good day.

Good evening,
We've been cloudy & warm all day. Not sure of the temp. Somewhere in mid 70s is my guess. Rain will move in overnight.
Nothing new from the Dr. office; allergies=ear infection=ruptured eardrum. Infection gone, no need for Rx; approx2 wks to heal. So still deaf in one ear & cant hear out of the other.
Left there & went to WM for a few things. Had to go back to Dr. office as I had left my jkt.
Got my DISH bill yesterday. It's gone up by $40mo. The plan itself increased by $20mo. No idea where the other $20 came from. Doesn't matter, I'm not paying it anyway. I called & canceled the service effective immediately.
And you HAD to do it by phone. No way to do it online. That was fun. I spoke to 3 different people & explained I was having issues with my hearing. I wanted to cancel my service & that was it. No discussion, no reduced price offers; CANCEL. The 3rd one finally got it.
The new amt would have been $84 & it's not worth it. I will save a couple of months of that, & have the new FIOS installed. I can get faster internet with that & several streaming services for the TV for not much more than I pay for internet itself right now. That will also reduce my Verizon bill by $30 mo & if I decide to drop my house phone, another $50 mo. So, $150 installation & a router for approx $50 will be the initial money out. After that a monthly pmt which will depend on what plan I go with & I'll be saving approx $100 mo.
I had planned on spending the rest of the day working in the yard but not in the mood after talking with DISH.
I did get the leaves raked out that were piled up against the house in the bed under my kitchen window. Raked them into the d'way & then used the leaf blower to to blow them down the d'wy & into the woods across the street. Bed looks better.
Since it is supposed to rain tomorrow ,I'll go to work. Not much to do.Should be home early.

I did stop at Lowe's on the way to Aldi. Picked up 6 bags of garden soil. The buy 3 get 3 free ones, and 2 larger bags of potting mix for 7 each I believe. Also 8 pt sized flowers for $1 each. When I got home and had lunch I put 2 of the hanging pots on the porch together. I dumped all of the soil that was in them and put new in. Then I transplanted some of the dill seedlings. I've already planted some in the ground even though they are tiny and they are still hanging on. After the dill I decided to refurbish the soil in the other pot I wanted to put loofah in. I already have some planted in a pot by the porch. On the way to the pot, however, I got sidetracked with pulling weeds out of some pots on the way. That led to pretty much redoing those pots, moving a hibiscus into one of the bigger ones that had nothing in it, refurbishing a pot of mint, and digging up the little nicotiana that was behind those pots and planting it in one of the larger pots. I'll add something else in there, perhaps zinnias. I finally moved on to the loofah but used the pot from the hibiscus instead of the one I had planned because it was deeper. Then it was out to the bed farther out in the front yard but didn't get much accomplished there. The yarrow has apparently died and those sticky vines with huge bulbs had taken over so I had to dump that pot, only to find I had gravel in the bottom. I'll have to finish with that mess another time. The last of one bag of potting soil was added to the large pot I used to have milkweed in and I plan to plant some of all off the milkweed seeds I have left from those that never sprouted in that pot and see what happens. I did refurbish a smaller pot of that orange milkweed. I don't know why the ones in the larger pot must have died.
So that was pretty much most of my day. It was a nice day to be outside. I took breaks and sat on the porch for a while, which led to cleaning the 2 glass end tables that were covered with pollen.
Gayle, hope your hearing comes back soon.
Hope everyone has a good evening.
