Didn't get anything done outside but did accomplish one pressing item on my list of things that keep me awake at night. I got my septic tank pumped. Now I can wash clothes without the front toilet gurgling, hopefully, and also shower without it doing that. I remember when it cost about $75. Now it's $400. As I sat on the porch and watched them dig to get to the lid to take it off and then pump it out, I was glad I had worked a desk job. They need hazmat suits to do that job. There are some minor ruts in the yard from the truck driving across it, but the truck also knocked dead limbs hanging down on the big oak tree, so that helps me. Glad it's done. Tomorrow I will wash my bedding as a test.
Gayle, I hope you are better. That has to be frustrating. My left ear has bothered me some lately and while at the zoo last weekend it blocked up all of a sudden and I felt like I was in a barrel when I talked. Thankfully it cleared up fairly quickly.
Dave, I need to start eating beets. They are good for you but I never think about it and I've never grown any.
I cooked potato beef stroganoff and parmesan crusted cabbage for supper. The stroganoff was delicious. The cabbage was good but not sure I'll make it again because of the aggravation. The seasoning was good but the cheese got hard before the cabbage was soft enough. I'm sure it takes practice but I don't really have the patience for that.
Have a good night.

Beets are easy to grow Leslie - just make sure to keep them watered. Love the pictures of your granddaughter ready for the prom. What gorgeous red hair she has! And she couldn't have picked a better colour dress.

Good evening,
We were 64* this morning & my I/O says we reached upper 80s . We were pretty warm but I didn't think that warm.
I sprayed the soffit again with the bleach mixture but I don't think it's going to work. Next step is to actually scrub with a hose attachment mix.
I put MG soil on my slope so it doesn't look like I buried somebody. A little on the nearby Iris bed. I see buds on some of them but not all so maybe a little extra boost will help.
Weeded & cleaned up the bed under the LR windows & that will get compost/cow manure when I find some. Trying to save the more expensive MG for the beds that I think need some soil adjustment.
Finished the last of the lawn re-seeding. Hopefully it will take.
Came in, had a late lunch & took a nap.
Later, I fixed a Cheesy Hash Brown casserole for Pot Luck tomorrow night. It is supposed to be a clone of Cracker Barrel's, if they still offer it. We don't have any nearby so I don't know. I just checked on it & it's sooo good. Trying to figure out how I can eat some w/o anybody telling. LOL
We had a TS roll through around 6 & still raining. My digital rain gauge says 9.9". Pretty sure I need a new gauge. It's been acting up lately even with new batteries. I'll check the old timey one later if I think of it.
I'm feeling a little better At least the sinus headache I had since Sat. is gone.I can now bend over w/o feeling like my head is gong to explode. The cough seems mostly gone. The hearing won't improve until the ear drum heals. Doc said approx 2 wks.
Melissa, for some reason, I was thinking your DH traveled out of the country just recently.
Leslie,my cats have learned that Breakfast is whenever Mom gets up. They no longer expect it at 7 AM.
Charlene, it appears all of my Hosta survived the heavy equipment rolling over them. In fact I had to spray them this weekend as I see the deer have been nibbling. And I will need to spray again tomorrow because of this storm we just had.
All my seedlings are now in the GH. I'll be moving some of the potted plants out as I get more beds ready for them. I snipped off some geranium starts today. This was a new plant last year & I don't remember the name of it. It didn't really take off until I put it in the GH for the Winter. If I can remember to take some pictures, I'm sure Charlene can tell me what it is.
That's it for now.

My goodness, it has been a day! I think tonight I will be "good tired" and hope that translates into glorious sleep. DH had physical therapy today. He said the therapist worked him really hard. That is good for him. Maybe he will sleep well tonight because of that. When we came home, I worked on the pump and got it going. I was glad to see the tubing I had bought was exactly what I needed. I was a bit afraid I'd need to buy a new pump, or that I should have bought a clamp for this tubing to keep it in place. The guy at Menard's suggested it but thought maybe if the pump didn't put out enough pressure it would be fine. The original tubing didn't require a clamp so I opted to not buy one. I'm glad because I didn't need it. A lot of water came off the pool cover today. Yay! The weather was really wonderful for playing in the dirt. I got about half of my pots emptied and new potting soil mixed in. I hope to finish up tomorrow. It got warm working in the sunshine. I came in and got into shorts and a tank top. That was good for a while, but then I got too chilly. I don't think the temp was shorts-worthy if I wasn't in the sun. Throughout the day, I juggled text messages from both DSisIL#1 regarding DBIL#1 and the volunteers from the museum. It felt as though I had had my bell rung a time or two. DBIL has taken a turn for the worse. The blood thinner they gave him for the blood clot in his leg began causing massive bleeding. It sounds like they removed numerous clots from his bladder. After discussing this with DSisIL#4 (the baby sister), we are wondering if the clots didn't happen as a result of the flight to Jamaica for the wedding. I hope not because the kids will feel terrible if their wedding caused this. I just got word that the special transport needed to move DBIL has arrived and will take him to a larger hospital where he will be in ICU. The museum situation seems to be resolved. The director was questioning the timing on the dedication coming up in May. He was sending things off to the newspaper and wondered about the start time I had put in the press release. His notes said 11:00 while mine said 1:00. He preferred his time, but I don't think that is happening. None of us volunteers thought his timing was good and never considered the earlier time frame. Plus, our speaker was already set for 1:00 and we can't change that on her now. She's the board president, so I think he is changing his schedule that day. There was a lot of texting and emailing going on all day regarding this. I'm sure we will talk about it on Wednesday. Tonight, one of my nieces had a book party - like I have had before. It was the perfect excuse to buy the boys books! I have been creating a wish list for a few days now. Somehow, without planning it this way, I got the boys within .01 of each other. LOL! It'll be nice to have these books stashed away for birthdays, Halloween, and Christmas. Well, I still need to put in a grocery pickup order for tomorrow and I think the cutoff time for reserving my time slot is quickly approaching. Better get going. Hope the day was good to everyone! G'night.
