Dave, Karen's idea is very good. Sort of what I do except I empty all of them in the fall in a pile along with plant materials all summer. In the spring I till this pile up and fill the bottom of the pots from the pile then top off with potting soil.
Karen, you are one strong lady. However, you need to get some help and just have some me time.
Enjoy your evening

Bet, after thinking about this I realized that last year I believe I did dump in the fall and let the dirt winter over outside. There wasn't plant material in there, but I did have it sitting all mixed together over the winter until I mixed in new dirt. I am guessing the reason I did it this way (CRS is real!) last fall was to make sure I didn't mix in the potting mix that was exposed to the pool chemicals when DH's cousin backwashed onto the patio if I use that bucket for veggies again. That bucket is marked and the mix will be sure to be put into a flower pot or maybe I will use it along the garage wall where it is lower in the back than the front. I'll probably do that since I have more than enough new potting mix to go in that bucket. Thank you for your concern for me. I am doing better today than I have been. I am going to see how I can get some breaks here and there so I don't lose my sanity. It's almost like the worse DH gets the calmer I am with him. Perhaps because his need is far more evident than when it has seemed like he was just being a poop.

Good afternoon,
We've had a nice day with a high in the mid 70s. But I didn't really do any yard work other than put down some Preen Lawn Weed Control.
I ended up going to Urgent Care this morning as I had a low grade fever & was a little concerned about that. Everything was OK. Temp was back to normal by the time I got there. Yes, from the symptoms I described to her & her examination, I did have an ear infection & that did cause a ruptured eardrum. It all started with allergies last week so she wants me to take allergy meds for 7-10 days.
Once the eardrum ruptures & drains the infection is gone so no need for antibiotics.
Charlene, I have had issues with my ears & hearing loss since I was a kid. Hearing aids would have had no effect on this problem. Hearing loss runs in my family.
I wore dbl hearing aids for years. When we were at Bet's, I had had surgery on both ears a few yrs prior & everything was fine. No need for hearing aids at that time. One of the genetic issues is Nerve Deafness & as I got older that got worse. So a few yrs go I went back to wearing one device. It's for the ear that still has a healthy eardrum. Jut a basic OTC aid bought online a couple of years ago. Not perfect but it helps & it's what I could afford. Hearing aids are very expensive. My youngest DB just paid $8,000 for a new pair. In comparison, I paid $1500 for 2 state of the art (at the time) digital aids back in 2001.
At that time,I was told nothing to be done about Nerve Deafness but lately I'm hearing different. Also my insurance just started paying for hearing costs, incl aids. Most insurance companies don't cover that. Just this past week I started calling around checking on which companies accepted my ins. & now this!! So nothing can be done until this is over.
Doc says appox 2 wk for it to heal. Meanwhile I have very little hearing in that ear & the other one was always my "bad" ear. Ever heard the expression - Deaf in one ear & can't hear out the other? That's me. I can barely hear myself & have to use speaker option on the phone.
Karen, I've been planning & cooking meals for almost 63 yr. I'm pretty tired of it too. I loved the nightly discussion of "What do you want to eat? I don't know, what do you want?" No help at all.LOL
Melissa, I didn't know hubby was going back to Helsinki. Glad he got there safely. How long will he be gone this time?
Lowe's had MG Garden soil on sale ; Buy 3 get 3 free. I don't usually use that, but at that price I got 6 & 2 bags of top soil for the stump fill. I usually mix Cow Manure & compost for a top dressing on my beds every yr. I can not find just plain compost anywhere this year, hence the MG soil.
Starlings show up here once or twice a yr.,in the Spring. But eat from the ground & rarely from the feeder. Crows & Grackles,on the other hand, are a PIA.
