Good morning all. A dull start to our day, 37 and damp, with probably a little more rain to come, but with a little bit of luck we'll see a little bit of sun later too. The washer is going, the coffee is made, thank you hubby, he's having an early breakfast so he can get to the gym and I'm catching up here. Bought paint for our bedroom yesterday. I know hubby wants to get it done before golf season is up and running - and it starts on Wednesday! Then the only place not painted is the laundry/storage area so it will be done soon. Once laundry is done, and I've got my walking etc done, a little banking and paperwork to be done, maybe get some muffins made and then there's both curling and golf on tv - a busy day!! Hope you have a super Saturday.

Good morning all. Yes a dull wet start to the day. Hope this rain goes somewhere else. I'll send it to some of you.
I did get the chores done and got the errands done. I took pictures and wrote a letter to the town about my junkyard neighbor next door. Not sure if it will do any good but made me feel better. Time will tell.
Watered all the seedlings and moved plants around again. Seems like I'm always doing that.
Have some laundry to do and a few other things to clean up. Nothing to exciting.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone. It is 43º and heading to mid 70s later with sunshine and gusty winds all day.
Yesterday was a busy day and I was pleased with all I got accomplished. Most of the things on my list were checked off before picking up Lair at 10:15. After taking Lair to the wound clinic and getting groceries, I went to fill my friends bird feeders for the last time as they were scheduled to be home today. Much to my surprise, they got home while I was there. They'd left AZ a day early since all of their business there was finished and they were ready to get home. I visited with them for a while and when I got back to town, I helped Phyllis for about an hour and then took a birthday present to the lady minister that I clean for. By time I got home it was late afternoon and I tended to the geraniums in the GH. I had hauled several of them outside for the day to start getting them acclimated.
Today I hope to get the zinnias transplanted. Curt needs to go to Dollar General, so we will make a short trip there. I am going to make an appearance at a celebration of life gathering. I didn't know the lady that died real well, but I do know her children.
Right now the washer is doing it's thing and I plan on hanging most of them outside to dry.
Tasty...thanks for opening. If golf season starts Wednesday, you've got some painting in your near future. It will be nice for you to have the whole place freshly painted to suit your liking.
Sandy....I took pictures and texted them to our city clerk along with a long text last Friday about my neighbors yard. I saw 2 rats playing on my neighbor's piles of junk. I DO NOT want rats! The city clerk said she would share my complaint along with the pictures at city council meeting.
Happy Saturday to all. I need to read yesterday's posts. Charlene

Good morning. yes I am still alive but tired. Has been a crazy week with work and it is that time of year with Lions where there is a lot going on. I have been up since 5:30 on the computer working on Lions. I am working today so need to get all done before I leave. Nothing seems to change at work. Yesterday had a big job to do a total of 9 hours between 2 of us but my helper never showed up. I can't do it alone as it is resetting coolers and a lot of moving of shelves etc. which I just can't do. The job is intended for 2 workers so I drove a total of 54 miles and hung around for half an hour waiting for this guy. He had scheduled another job. We had to schedule these jobs about a month ago so everything would be in place when the job opened up yesterday. I have 4 of them and now I have to reschedule all of them and no helper assigned at this time for any of them. My boss got a good piece of my mind yesterday. One of these days he is going to fire me I am sure. We have had 2 days of rain with a total of 1 1/2 inches. It is 37°this morning and overcast. Could get a little more rain and sleet and snow in the higher elevations. After the fiasco at work I did my shopping for the Lions' dinner Monday night in the town where I was, came home and got those groceries put away and then back on the road in the opposite direction to Walmart to finish the shopping. All in all I left home at a little after 8 yesterday morning and after over 100 miles of driving I finally ended up home about 4 yesterday afternoon. Needless to say a very tired puppy. Most all of the driving was done in the rain and a real gully washer on the way home yesterday afternoon. Now you know why I haven't been around much this week. My whole week has been exceptionally busy.
I just finally I think got all of the Lions work done for the day and need to get ready to go to work.
Have a great day. Bet

Still cooler here. 63° now but the sun is up so it should get warmer.
Tasty and all with the damp clouds, hope you get some sunshine! Sandy, sorry you're still having neighbor issues. Maybe the town will see your pictures and get them to clean up their act. Charlene, no going away parties. They seem to disappear overnight. I'm sure their are gatherings and goodbyes among neighbors. Bet, hope today goes smoother for you!
Have a great Saturday all!

Bette...I do understand you being MIA this week. How frustrating to drive that far and the other guy nor show up. I would also be giving someone a piece of my mind.
Wendy...When the snow birds leave here to head south, they also just seem to sneak away. I don't think they want it public knowledge that they're gone....only family watching their homes.
Marlene...Don't you just love line dried sheets? I also am going to be washing sweaters and winter coats to put away for the season. I put a few sweatshirts away, but leave some out for cool summer days/nights.
Mary Ky...I have no idea if swim wear is out in stores here or not. Tornado season used to just be May/June but the last 2 here were in April and December.
Karen....I am sorry to hear of so many health issues in your family. I hope your day went well yesterday.
Leroy....Good to see you stopping by. I also love the 60s and low 70s this time of year actually feeling like Spring.
Carol...My phone often gives me the wrong weather report. I thought you had a vacuum that did the work for you?
Mary M...I bet Precious loves her new Spring haircut. Your mention of hummers made me look at the migration map. I see there have been a couple of sightings in southern Iowa, but none in my area quite yet. It's usually the 1st of May or later.
Elaine...Nice to see you posting. Your new dog walking job is good for the dog and also good exercise for you, but I hope the dog's owner gives you some money to make it a double win....lol.
Linda...Good to see you here too. The hummingbird map says there's lots in TX, so be patient an they should find your feeder.
Leslie....Yay on finding the papers keeping you awake at night. Charlene

A beautiful sunshiny day. We are to get some much needed rain later in the week. Farmers have started their fieldwork. I baked pineapple upside down cupcakes earlier today. I hope to see DD and family tomorrow and will give all but 3 to them. Late afternoon I'm attending a concert put on by the West Central Chorale - a volunteer group who sings together. Afterwards my friend and I are going out to supper. Tasty, sounds as if you will have a full day. Enjoy it. Charlene, I do hope the city council acts on your concerns. You do not want rats anywhere near your property. Bet, how sad that you have to reschedule because of no helper. You had a legitimate concern to voice your opinion to your boss. Hopefully the coming week will be less stressful. Wishing you all a happy Saturday. May all your wishes come true. Marlene

Good morning. It's 66 now and heading to 77. Tomorrow the high is to be 80. I may get outside for a while today. I need to hoe or pull the weeds in the first bed I weeded. Although I got up early I fed the cats and let them outside before going back to bed for a while. It's a lot quieter with them outside. Oreo is now back in and I'm just having my coffee. She just hangs out on the front porch when she's outside most of the time and doesn't go in the back to play with her brothers. She's always been a bit of a loner, preferring to be with people and not the other cats. Penny has enjoyed being outside although she mostly stays on the front porch as well. She has been wanting to go out for over 3 years. My list today includes sweeping and mopping while the cats are outside, taking the houseplants outside to the porch, and cleaning and filling the hummer feeders among other things. We'll see how much actually gets done. I want to move some furniture to clean behind it so that may take a while and do a number on my back, even with the sliders underneath.
Tasty, you sure stay busy.
Sandy, I have one of those neighbors. His back yard will be a haven for snakes this summer. Mine isn't great either but I don't have large piles of junk and waist high weeds. Since we have a swamp behind our homes no one else can see. People who lived there before kept it clean and mowed. Living outside of the city, though, there's nothing I can do.
Wendy and Charlene, enjoy your day.
Bet, I'm sorry you are having such issues with work.
Marlene, I love anything with pineapple and your cupcakes sound wonderful. A few weeks ago I had some crushed pineapple in the juice and blended it with some frozen blueberries to make a delicious smoothie. I liked it so much that I bought another can of pineapple. I may make a pitcher full today.
Waving at everyone else.

With all the talk of pineapple here this morning, pineapple muffins sound good. I know somewhere I have a recipe for pineapple coconut . . . if I can lay my hands on it.

Tasty- recipe please, lol I have 2 cans of chunk pineapple and 1 can crushed in the pantry plus a bag of coconut as I didn't use it at Christmas.
Good morning everyone. I've been busy this morning and it's only 10:30. 2 loads of laundry done. One dog to dog park, one for a walk, and myself on my walk. I also made rhubarb muffins as my sister gave me some frozen rhubarb.
This afternoon I have cards and tonight I have bunco.
With your talk of hummingbirds. I need to take our feeders in as they are leaving. I know we have a few here during summer,but....

Good afternoon. We are sunny and in the upper 50s right now. I'd love it to be a little bit warmer, but that is coming tomorrow. At least the rain has stopped as has the wind for the most part.
My morning has been spent doing household must-dos like laundry and dishes. I did some texting with DSis#3 and DH's cousin who cleaned our pool for us last year. DSis had a nice DM story she wanted to share. I'm glad they had a good moment together that created a sweet memory for DSis. DH's cousin had texted me a while ago inviting DH and me to see his new place that attracts tons of various wildlife. I've had that in mind and on my Google calendar for weeks now, but finally had to text him to let him know it might be awhile before we make it - if we make it. With DH's medical stuff that is going on, I think chances are remote, but I appreciated him thinking of us. I really wanted to get that marked off as completed so it would disappear from my phone's home screen. LOL! He appreciated being in the loop on DH. I don't think he often is thought of much in the enormity that is DH's family. I sowed some of the coleus seeds that Melissa mentioned a few days ago. I had promised DH's aunt that lives next door that I would have some for her this year. I will, but I guess it will be later than I thought it would. DH had made a popcorn mess around his chair so he wanted me to vacuum that up. In order to keep him from tracking it all over the house, I complied. I also figured out how to use his DVD/Blu-Ray player to play at least one movie for him. The first one I put in was a stinker. I couldn't toggle over to the play icon for nuthin'. I changed batteries in the remote and everything. I finally chose a different movie to put in for him and it worked! I am going to feel considerably better about that stupid movie closet now that I can put movies on for him to watch. I'll have to seek out help on what happened with the first one, but hopefully there are many others that will work just fine. It was a morning for changing batteries, I guess. The glucose meter DH uses wasn't working at all this morning. It was definitely time to change the batteries. His reading was high so I had him do it again. That time the number was within 1 of the original reading, so I am counting it as accurate. Lately, some of the readings have been screwy and not close at all when I have had him test twice. Anyway, it has been a full morning and I am tired.
After I do a food inventory and call to check in on DM, I may nap.
Hope the rest of the day is good for everyone. I'm tired enough that focusing on comments just can't happen right now.

Good afternoon, the sun is shining and we are under a wind advisory until 6pm tonight. The temperature is 57°. The high for the day is supposed to be 58°.
I have a load of clothes waiting for the dryer they just finished so they can wait a minute or two.
I need to dust, anyone want to come help, or just plain do it for me? I just hate dusting but it is getting to the point that I will soon need a shovel. hahaha
Charlene, Ethel does the floors I do the carpet. She just does not have the power to do the carpets, at least to my standards.
Have a good day.

Good evening,
From some of the comments, I'm thinking I missed yesterday's thread. I'll have to go check.
Anyway this has finally been a really nice day for yard work. Just a little too windy for some things I planned but plenty of others to do.
I re-seeded some more of the lawn. I'm getting tired of doing that but almost finished.
Got started on weeding & filling in under the tree stump. That's going better than I expected. It's almost all filled in. The next step will be smoothing it out with topsoil, planting & then adding compost. Felt good to see some progress there.
Some people here have said they've seen a HB. I haven't yet & I won't put my feeder out until I do. But I expect it won't be long now.
DB #1 showed up at the Marina last night & even danced to a few songs. So he's just about back to normal. Since I have the busted eardrum I can barely hear out of that ear & the other ear has always been my "bad" ear so the band sounded funny but I got used to it pretty quick.
Sandy, I hope both you & Charlene can get some satisfaction regarding the junky neighbors.
My neighbor whose backyard meets mine at a 95% angle, with one empty lot between us has a packed back yard. It's not really all junk but it is overly full. An outdoor room up against the backdoor of the house which he keeps wood in for his fireplace & keeps lit up with Christmas lights. A huge raised bed 3-4 ' high that he never has planted anything in, also decorated with strings of light. A GH that he keeps a light on inside (I'm assuming for warmth). Logs stacked upright all around the perimeter of his back yard & yep more strings of lights. Then there are the lights strung in his trees. And oh, some kind of what looks like a section of fence with even more lights. I get to see all this from my BR window at night but at least I can lower the shades & the lights don't really bother me.
I guess I better go feed the cats & myself. TTYL

I got home about 4 this afternoon with great hopes of coming here, reading and commenting on everyone. That didn't work. Today went well. Took about 1 1/2 hours that they think it should take but I expected that as they are jobs I have done before. Had a lot of emails etc. that had to be handled and that did me in. Dinner is cooking now and then it will be bed with a bit of TV hopefully. Tomorrow I start the cooking for Monday night. I think mostly prep work. I do need to get a second batch of rolls done tomorrow. Enjoy your evening.
Bet
