Good morning everyone. It was 43º when I got up and going to be upper 50s later. A slight chance of rain, but less than one tenth if we get anything. Right now my phone says it is raining and will end in 30 minutes...WTH? The sun is shining and it is not raining. These phones aren't as 'smart' as they're professed to be...lol.
Yesterday wasn't very busy at work. We had a little snafu however when the city shut off the water at 1pm when we were doing clean up. It's impossible to wash dishes without water.
When I got back to town I filled my friends bird feeders and then went and helped Phyllis. Today I have to take her to lunch and then clean her house.
We have a gorgeous weekend on tap and my hopes are to get lots of yardwork done. Hopefully I can get all of the hosta beds cleaned off. I got all of the flower beds cleaned off a few weeks ago when we had unseasonably warm temps.
Wishing everyone a great day. Charlene

Good morning. 36 headed to 56. Yesterday we made it to 65 so way above average. We will have some warm weather this weekend followed by some cooler than average next week with some rain and rain snow mix later in the week. The yo yo weather continues.
Yesterday was a busy day. I was out for a walk before 8 and got my 2 miles in. I then went to town and got another 8 bags of MG while it was still $10. Came home and unloaded then started working outside. I ended up getting my hill bed project completed and that was not expected. I was dreading it but it went really well and I had enough blocks to finish the job. My goal was to remove all the timbers because they attract carpenter ants and slugs. I took out some of the tiers that weren’t necessary and was able to use some brick I had on hand to make a base layer for the blocks to sit on where needed. I’ll post pics in the pic thread. It was an all day project. I did have to water seedlings after dinner.
I’m not sure whats on my agenda. Maybe more leaf removal. Have been working on getting them off beds. Of course we have some cooler weather coming with below freezing lows but the plants are growing thru the leaves and that isn’t ideal either. Softball at home again today.
Gayle-Mil is frustrating! Lol! Lets just go with that.
Wishing everyone a great day.

Good morning all. The rain has arrived and is here for probably until the weekend, but it is looking like we might have a break over lunchtime today when I am meeting up with a friend for lunch. That would be nice and I would rather walk than drive if I can. The restaurant we're going to is on Main St and has no designated parking, so I would have to walk half the distance anyway. Yesterday I finally managed to get a start on organizing the new laundry/storage area - so nice to have the extra cupboard space. Will carry on with that today. Sounds like you are getting some desire to get back into gardening Charlene. It's a lot of work to keep up with as much as you do out there, especially on top of everything else you do. You got lots done yesterday outside too Melissa. I do miss it and have been wondering what to do with our balcony this year, then our neighbour asked yesterday asked if I would help with the planting around our building this year. She usually does it but will be visiting her daughter in England during May and June so that should get me back to doing at least a little work outside. Have a great day.

I had a good day yesterday, coffee in the morning and then I went to the nearest town that has big box stores and leisurely walked through Target, Kohls, Menards as well as buying a few groceries that were on sale. While in Arby's for lunch some friends came in and we sat together and visited. I will be leaving shortly to attend a funeral for a friend who suffered from Alzheimer's for many years. She is in heaven now singing with the angels. She had a beautiful voice and sang at many events. Thoughts and prayers for all those affected by bad weather yesterday. "The only limit to our realization of tomorrow is our doubts of today." Marlene

Good morning. It has been raining but stopped now and breezy. I have a few windows open and it feels good. Won't get anything done outside today. Not sure what I want to do. So far I haven't done anything other than wash dishes from last night. I want to take my houseplants outside and put them on the porch until fall. The cats have been playing on the porch since it was raining so not sure how that will work out.

Good morning if I hurry. I am moving slow this morning, have been out for my walk and that is about it.
I took some chili out of the freezer and will have that for whenever. Thinking of making a carrot-raisin salad.
It is currently 67° outside and they had said 68 would be the high. We are supposed to have rain also but on checking the radar it won't be here for awhile, maybe evening.
Nothing much happening around here. I did go visit with my former neighbor who moved over to assisted living.
I need to order over the counter medications so I guess I will go do that.
Have a good day.

Good afternoon! The rain began last night and looks to be a long-lasting front. We are temporarily without rain right now, but by the looks of the radar this won't last. I really should have pumped off the pool cover. We're going to end up with well over 2" of rain by the time this stops. We're at 1.88" right now with more expected - at least half an inch more. I want to try to run to Kroger for DH's prescriptions that are ready. If it isn't raining, I may go inside and pick up some Carbmaster yogurt since we are out. If it is raining, the yogurt is waiting! Nothing new, fun, or exciting happening here outside of the baby's little blue dragon being delivered today. I'm very glad I bought this! It's so adorable and fitting for a little one who will be nicknamed 'Dragon' probably forever. In keeping with the dragon theme, I spent some time last night filling up my wish list on Paper Pie/Usborne Books after my niece asked if I wanted to be invited to her Facebook party next week. Of course! I love excuses to buy books for the grands. There are several dragon books that I am gonna need to order. Charlene, I hope you get the weekend that is being forecast for you! Sounds like great outside weather. You did an awesome job, Melissa, on your hill bed project. Hopefully you were able to walk for your lunch date with your friend, Tasty. Marlene, I am sorry you have to attend a funeral today. I guess you just have to be thankful the suffering is over and the singing can commence in Heaven. Some days, Mary, we just have to sleep in like you got to today. I did also a tiny bit, but forced myself to get up at 9:00. It's hard to believe that it is swim suit season already but it is! Good luck with the houseplants vs. the cats, Leslie. Carol, you inspired me with your mention of carrot raisin salad. That is getting made here very soon. Well, I need to put on some long pants and head to Kroger. I think I am going inside and don't want to freeze in shorts. It's only in the mid 50s, so I am presuming it would be feeling quite cool out there. (Never mind - the rain has resumed) Wishing everyone a good day.

Good afternoon,
We are 66* at the moment & looks like rain any minute but forecast says not until 5.
I planted the yellow Iris I got from DB's old house along the d'way today. They looked pretty dried up to me but I did see some new growth so we'll see what happens.
I was going to add a clump of purple Siberian Iris from the back yard but decided to wait & see if those will go back to blooming now that the big tree is gone. I can always move them in the Fall if I want.
It started sprinkling a little as I got done with that so I didn't bother to start anything else. Of course after I got everything put away, sprinkles were done.
Not much else going on.
I started laundry when I came is so should go check in that & find something for a late lunch.

Marlene....Sorry to hear about your friend passing, but I loved your comment about her "singing with the angels"....what a peaceful thought.
Karen...I love the blue Dragon! What a nice gift and I have no doubt you will be able to find lots of dragon books. I hope Wendy is okay. I see she hasn't posted this week. Hopefully she's just busy cleaning up the village. Charlene
