Good morning friends. A pleasant 52 here to start the day. A mix of sun and cloud predicted for today to get followed by 3 days of rain! April showers bring forth May flowers 💐. Busy day of canning yesterday and we now have made our first 1000 jars of goodies for this year. An appointment in the afternoon filled in most of the rest of my day. Not sure where today will take me altho I could head over to the mainland when hubby takes the car over for a service and to have the summer tires put on. I probably should stay here and get something done. I really do need to sort out the laundry room with its new cupboards. Have a wonderful Wednesday 🙂.

Good morning. 40 headed to 65! Dang! Thats 18° above average. Crazy. We’ll take it. I will spend the day outside.
Yesterday I went and bought some miracle grow. Wanted to make sure it was a good batch. Last year I got some awful stuff from them. I started with 4 bags but I plan to get eight more if they still have some. I would like to get some mulch as well, but the bags were awfully wet from the rain we had and I didn’t want to put them in my car. I need 8 feet worth of pavers for a project. They had some marked down but I have to decide what I want. I think I can get by with a simple 12 x 12 paver in a single row. It’s not like anybody’s going to walk through this space but me. I don’t even necessarily need to make a path I just want to break the bed up. After I got home, I did do a 2 mile walk. Did some transplanting and watering. Left for softball at 3:45. By the time the softball game was over it was late and didn’t do anything with the rest of my night.
I need to call my mom. She is having surgery on a toe tomorrow. She has really bad osteoarthritis, and this toe is completely turned under and very painful. The doctor is going to pin it permanently to keep it straight. She will have to wear a boot for about six weeks. I will be going down on Saturday to do some projects for her when hubby leaves for Finland. I have to be back home by next Tuesday because I work Wednesday.
I hope everyone has a great day.

It is a very mild and pleasant weather day here. I'm guessing mid 60s will be where we end up for our high for the day. I'm really ready to head to bed and pull the covers over my head. LOL! DH overflowed the toilet in his bathroom this morning before we had to go to the doctor for his checkup. I didn't have time to deal with that before we had to leave and had forgotten about it until I walked in the back door when we got home. Ugh. It was one disaster after another and he felt awful for what I went through cleaning it up. As I expected, he had flushed a wipe he shouldn't have down the toilet. I had an inkling that might have been the cause because I had to fish a wipe out of the toilet over the weekend. The ones I bought him for cleaning himself purposes says on it not to flush them. PLUS, I wrote on the package in red marker. He said he knew not to put them in the toilet, but something changed along the way. When I was cleaning up in there, I noticed something sticking out from the drain hole in the toilet. It was a wipe. The toilet is functioning okay again so I hope that is the only one he had tried that trick with, or it will be an expensive call to a plumber. I have removed the wipes from the bathroom and expect an argument from him, but I can't have this happening all the time. I dropped some of the towels from the bathroom mess on the utility room carpet, so that had to be scrubbed before I forgot about it. And just because I wasn't having enough fun today, a flippin' fly flew by my face as I was heading into the house. Now, I will be playing hide and seek with that annoying critter. 🤪 The doctor has ordered PT for DH to strengthen his left arm and leg and to help him learn how to properly use his walker and cane. He starts that on Friday. If I can keep him from eating tomorrow morning, we need to go have labs done and x-rays. His bloodwork is fasting and there is no guarantee he will have complied with that, but I'll do my best. At some point, I have to get to Meijer for a prescription and important stuff like Diet Pepsi, coffee, and ice cream. Before I do another thing, though, I have to eat something. A cup of yogurt before the doctor's appointment isn't cutting after 2:00. Guess then there is my call to DM that I need to make. Wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday! Hope the day is going well. 🥰

Good evening.
Another nice day in the 70s but rain returns tomorrow afternoon.
Made a quick trip to DT this morning for some cough drops & cold medicine but I really think it is more allergies than an actual cold. In the morning I sound horrible, very hoarse & coughing. After a short time it's much better & I feel fine. I have allergy meds here but I didn't have any cold meds so just as well I got some anyway.
I had some lunch & started work on the slope. Before I did that I re-seeded another small portion of the front yard. But I really wasn't in the mood to do that. I got the mower out & just mowed spots here & there where there were clumps of grass sticking up taller than the rest. Then, I got to the slope.
Finished up the weeding, filled in the gully from the bulldozer path, which now looks like a grave. Check it out in the picture thread. I planted some rain lilies & those purple flowers that I got at Dollar Tree a few weeks ago. If they have any Creeping Phlox marked down later in the season I may get some. I do like those out there. The last thing was replacing the brick border at the top. Feels good to have it done & a tentative plan for rest.
I've been opening my GH doors the last few days; It gets pretty hot in there with the sun on it in the mornings. I forgot to close them last night. No harm done so this evening I just lowered them but didn't zip them shut.
Melissa, those bags get heavy when they are wet. Even the topsoil I used today was heavy. Enjoy your time with your Mom. How's the MIL doing?
That's all I can think of at the moment.
Hope everybody had a good day.
