Good Morning!! A somewhat cloudy morning, its 54 and the high is to be close to 64. I didn't hear the weather report so I'm going on what is on the computer. As soon as done here I'm taking my rake out by the road and rake up a lot of stones from the snow plow over the winter, I know I won't get it all done but its a start. Also going to re-do the sunporch again, just can't get it right. Then tax time and not sure what we will do after that. Yesterday was a fun day with Hazel, her little jeep is broke but she wanted to try it again and she showed me how it didn't work. I pushed her in her swing, then we walked along the big field by the house. After getting home I ate some lunch and was going to do some yard work, but Ray wanted to trim the trees. Of course he couldn't find the right ladder, then he tore the garage apart and that is how it is this morning, my car can sit out, I'm not putting it back together. But he did get some things out for the craft show in 20 days.
I'm going to get dress and get the raking done, have a great day.

Good morning Carol, pretty morning here. It's so nice that you have your fun times with Hazel!she is a lucky little girl to have her gramma so close by. One of mine died before I was born and the other lived in Chicago and I saw her twice when I was very young..
Lair, your sense of humor is never lost on me. Nearly every Day I grin at something you wrote. Wish I could be as funny as you! Bet it was fun growing up with you.
Saw my new primary care Dr. Yesterday. He wants me to see my kidney Dr.My Kidney Dr. Dismissed me about ten years ago. Need a fasting blood draw now. Darn. Blood pressure was great.i need to get dressed and get busy!

Good Morning. It is 46 degrees and overcast. The trees are moving a little so we have wind but not much. I have a long list for this week but didn't get much done yesterday. In fact nothing. I need some sun to get me going. This weekend we are to ve in the 70's and sunny. Really looking forward to that. I have to look at the long term forecast but I may be able to get some plants out and do some trimming or I guess they call it pruning. After all the hipe about the eclipse I forgot all about it. Didn't give a thought until the 5 o'clock news came on. I guess my memory is failing me for sure. I have a cat here on my desk wanting affection. He went in the back bedroom and I didn't see him in there so he spent the night locked in there. Poor guy is acting like I don't love him. guess I would too if I was in another room and nobody missed me. Not that way with me. If I go in the bathroom and close the door it take only a few seconds before I see a paw reaching under the door. Trying to pull it open so I can get out. Unless someone is here I don't bother to close the door. Well, You all have a good day.
Good Morning Mary inMi, we were posting at the same time. They always tell me to do a fasting blood draw. I tell them I can't because of my diabetes and they say "OK". I have never had a problem with the diabetes it is just I don't like waiting that long before I eat in the morning. I get crabby and a headache. Not sure which comes first. I am getting sinical in my old age. I am thinking when they tell me to see another Dr. it is just because I have medicare and they are sure everyone gets paid if anything is wrong or not. I'm just a crabby old man. You have a good day Mary.

Good morning. 47, going to 66, with mostly sunny sky, and very little wind.
PT this afternoon. Sure wish I had something to talk about. I seem to repeat myself every day. Tennis is on now, so I will watch some more of thar. Maybe catch a movie or two, if HBO hasn't run out of ones I haven't seen yet. Can't seem to get into the superhero kind, so that eliminates quite a few.
Have a good day, everyone.

Good RAINY Day from west Texas! Has been coming down most of the night and off and on this morning. Was a good day for oatmeal and might make soup for dinner. Even the birds are hiding his morning. Catching up on some emails and need to do a few more. Glad the coverage of the eclipse is finished…now have room for coverage of the November election. More fun! Hope everyone has a good day.

Just checking in before I go sit down and start crocheting. I got nothing done crochet wise yesterday, but I already have 2 of the 8 rounds for the first green done already this morning.
Yesterday, I read an obituary for a 76 yr. old lady I knew as a teenager. She wrote her own obituary. She and her then husband were our neighbors on the farm; I also babysat their two boys. They moved away, and I rarely saw her after that. I saw in the obituary that they had a third son after they moved away. In her writing, she only mention the year, 1968 she got married with NO NAME MENTIONED of who she married, and no reference to his last name for his son's either. She listed the first names of her son's and their wives and then said, "To see them grow up and become wonderful husbands and dads has warmed my heart beyond words." Wow, that spoke volumes about her ex and her second husband. I knew her marriage had ended and she remarried a man who also had two kids in 1979, and they became a blended family. I had to chuckle when I got down to the end because she said, "Oh, and people who write their own obituaries always get the last word. So, I love you all and keep your fork." Hmm, I wonder if the reference to 'save your fork' meant she was a lady who always had a pie or dessert ready to be served after the meal? I only knew her for a few years, but I remember her as being such a sweet lady. She was married to her second husband for 45 years, and apparently he took care of her these last 2 years of her life during her illness. RIP Linda
Well, I'm off to crochet.

A quiet day here after the excitement of the eclipse. We did have some extra people here. Chefs sister and dd from Atlanta and friends from Baltimore plus a few locals making 23 to watch the total eclipse. Moon pies and glo sticks for the kids lots of goodies for the grownups too! Guess I should pay closer attention! I was surprised when we didn't have total darkness just as much darkness as dusk. I have talked to some who were as surprised as I was.
Started as a cloudy day the some beautiful sunshine and 70* I went out to sit in the sun! Now the clouds are taking over and rain is on the way soon. Pippin, I believe you said you finally got rain..I would gladly trade some rain for sunshine! I hear lawnmowers going but it's too wet to cut here. I think we live in a swamp.
My arm is finally getting better. I did a little kitchen work today now it's rest time

Linda, Is the ground where the water pooled black dirt or clay? If it's all clay, the tree may not get that water. If it's a black dirt hole surrounded by clay, all the water may be draining into the black dirt hole and the excess could be pooling above ground. I'm not familiar with the dirt down there in Texas. I just know what the clay up here in Iowa does.
I have supper in the oven, so came here for a minute. I have all 8 of my granny rectangles done, and now working on more white centers. I timed myself just to see how long it took me to do round 3 and 4, and it's about 8-8.5 min. per row. We have clouds rolling through, so not always bright sunshine.
Well, back to crocheting while I wait for supper to get done. After supper it'll be back to crocheting centers.

Mary, here at the cottage the soil is clay.K wasn’t allowed to plant it himself. The guys just dug the hole and just plunked it in. Will watch it and see what happens. Have had gorgeous Redbuds the past 2 weeks so maybe there is hope for our tree..

Today was a productive day. First the VA, then home and snacked a lot. I had seen an area rug at the thrift store Saturday but was too loaded down and too tired to roll it out for a look. I went today to do just that but of course it was gone...when you snooze you lose! I wanted to get it for DGD to use in her unfinished basement for the overflow of their furniture...like a desk and office area. I did spend the equivalent of the cost of the rug, but most of it was for LOMB & I found 9 stacking drinking glasses as most of those efficiency apts have little kitchen storage space, so stackables work better, then had to wash it all. After I got that done, I rested for a bit then went out to trim the roses. DH brought the big garbage can around for me and actually helped some. Then we moved on the the very tall burning bush that had a lot of dead in it. We got most of that trimmed out. By that time I was tired and hurting so rested then a shower. Now off to bed for me...5 am tomorrow comes early! Last night was not enough sleep for me!
Have a good night!
