Good morning friends. A lovely bright a d sunny spring morning here. A cool start at 34 but we'll quickly climb to at least the mid 50s. The grassis nice and green everywhere around town and the crocus and daffodils are showing up. I didn't make it here yesterday, just busy getting stuff done around here and spending some time at our own curling club as the season ended. Today we will watch the world men's final and obviously we're hoping the Canadians win.
Have a great day š.

Good morning. It is 28Ā°here this morning and to be in the 50's and sunny. Tomorrow we could hit 60Ā°. However right now by the time of the eclipse we are to be mostly cloudy. Hopefully that will change as we are suppose to be in a prime area to see it. I must have slept wrong or something last night. My body feels like it got run over by a mac truck. My plans for today are to go to the shop and work on plants. I am usually moved into the greenhouse by now and I haven't been able to get it set up. This weather just sucks. I do need to shovel my sidewalk. I have an Amazon order coming tomorrow and I don't think the driver would appreciate wading through the snow. I should spend some time working on my electronics some. I went to watch TV last night for a bit and Roku has messed with my home screen and it has changed. That isn't the power problem as there were no TVs on when the power went off. I left the second laptop rebuilding when I went to be last night. It is almost done so I will spend a little time working on the problem I am trying to solve on my email. I made progress last night but went too far so back to the drawing board. With my notes I am getting a bit further each time. It now has become an obsession to make it work the way I want it to.
Have a great day.

Good morning all. Nice bright sunshine so nice to see it. I've been lacking vitamin D naturally.
I got all seedlings transplanted yesterday. Just need to start sunflowers in the next few weeks.
Went outside and started cleaning the deck garden about half way done. My body wasn't used to stretching or bending. The yard is still very squishy hopefully it dried a bit overnight. I've been looking for my rubber boots but can't find them. Hopefully I find them today. The way the grass is growing I will need to mow soon.
Today I will be outside working again I'll wait until it warms up a bit.
Have a peaceful Sunday.

Good morning everyone. It is 40Āŗ, but a 30 MPH wind out of the east makes it feel like 25Āŗ...brrrr. The high for the day will be 47, but still feeling colder as this wind will last until Monday night. Maybe a rain shower sometime today...fingers crossed we do get rain.
Yesterday was a day of doing lots of little jobs. Today will probably be the same. The Iowa Hawkeye women's basketball team plays Leslie's SC Gamecocks. I wouldn't be surprised to get an invitation to watch it with family. If not, at least it's on ABC, so I can watch it from home. I'm not usually a basketball fan, but it seems the entire state is excited about our Hawkeye women, so everyone has become a fan....kinda like everyone being Irish on St Patricks day....lol.
Tasty...thanks for opening. You paint such a pretty picture of your area this morning. Enjoy your day.
Bette...Sorry about the April snow storm and the power outage. It is also supposed to be cloudy here tomorrow, so the the 85% of the eclipse we're supposed to experience probably won't happen.
Waving at anyone else who posted while I've been typing. DD has been texting me so it took me forever. Happy Sunday to all. Charlene

Good morning. It's 54 but going to 70. I'll be meeting the kids at the zoo but don't plan to leave here until 11. She said 11 to 12 to meet so that it will warm up. I've only known her to be on time once so I'm not going to rush. I can meet up with them at anytime in the park. After dozing off around 10 I woke up around 11 and didn't get back to sleep until after 3. So I'm drinking coffee and hoping I can find some energy to keep up with them. Gayle, since you weren't in an area of totality in 2017 you might not remember. That path was opposite across the country than this one. There is an area in a few states around Kentucky that had totality last time and will again. I remember one in 1970. There is a site where you can see the paths, and check your percentage by zip code. I tried posting it last night but couldn't get the link to work. I'll paste it here though but you will probably have to copy and paste it into your browser. Clicking the link, no matter how I do it, just brings up a black window. Copy and paste isn't working for it either but you might can copy it into a Google search window if interested. I texted the link to DS2 last night and it worked fine that way. eclipse-explorer.smce.nasa.gov/Charlene, enjoy watching the game. I went to USC for a year so root for them at times but I'm not a big sports fan. I read that USC lost most of their starters from last year so people didn't expect them to do as well. Dawn Staley must be a good coach to get all of the awards and recognition she has. Have a good day.

Good morning. Same weather as Charlene. Dang wind could go away and it would feel so much nicer out. We hit 54 yesterday and sunny but with 30 mph winds it certainly didnāt feel that warm. Looks like a good chance of rain starting tonight and rain all day tomorrow.
Yesterday morning I started laundry and dh and I headed out for a 2 mile walk before 8. When we got back I cleaned up 3 wheelbarrows of wood waste and leaves from the wood pile area. Ds and gf got here about 10:30. Had lunch at noon and they left about 1:30. Was nice to see them. I folded laundry and then did some planting and transplanting. Later I went back outside and did get some leaves pulled off some of the flower beds. The alliums were trying to grow up thru a mountain of leaves. Brought in some tomato juice and made tomato soup for dinner. We decided to get in another 2 mile walk at 7 since the wind had gone down a little.
Nothing specific planned today. I could plant a few more seeds. I should move some plants around as well. Iād love to work outside but that wind makes it less appealing. I will watch the basketball final later and will root for Iowa since they are our neighbor.
Karen-Sorry to hear dh fell yet again. I hope he realizes he needs to use the walker.
Have a good day all.

Sandy, you are so luck not to have snow and can work outside. We were getting close to that now everything is buried again.
Charlene, those little things seem to take a lot of time. Sorry about all the wind. Hope you get that rain that is expected.
Mary, it is sometimes baby steps when trying to fix electronics. Enjoy your walk.
Leslie, have fun with the kids today. Hope you get a second burst of energy to get you through it.
Dave, you mowing and I am still shoveling. Not fair.
Melissa, you are getting the bad winds also. It is very calm here today but I would have to do a lot of shoveling to clean off my beds.
Karen, not sure what you are going to do about DH falling. Hope he doesn't give you too much trouble about using the walker.
I just put the ingredients in the ice cream maker to make strawberry ice cream. I have some strawberries I had to use up before they spoil.

It is sunny and fairly warm. Today should see us getting into the upper 50s. Except for Friday when we will also be in the upper 50s for highs, the rest of the week we could actually be in the 60s and 70s. That will be awesome! The weather was pretty nice yesterday, which prompted me to get all of my pots outside onto the patio. It felt like a rite of spring to have the pots out there again. Seeing them together ought to help me determine what I will plant in each one. I'm contemplating switching things up from what I did last year on the patio. I had all the large pots and buckets on the patio and the smaller pots in Faith's Corner. They got to be a pain to deadhead since that is all stone. I don't think I want to repeat that scenario this year. I have a month to get this figured out. DH is not doing very well, but he is using the walker. Mentally and physically, he is losing ground. I thought I was doing a lot before, but now I am literally doing everything. The things I took for granted that he would do, he hasn't done today. I moved his CPAP machine and computer over to the lift chair again so that can be his home base. He is already fussing about getting a bigger lift chair. I'll probably have to cave in and buy him one. I really don't want to do that because of his incontinence issue, but I may not have a choice. I am calling the doctor tomorrow. Maybe we are approaching the time that a hospital bed may be an answer. I don't know. Anyway, I was uncertain enough about his safety that I didn't go to church this morning. I listened to some of my faith songs I have pinned on Pinterest to tide me over a bit. This is only going to get harder and I need to try to stay in the moment. As a reward for my mental stresses, I am going to take time this afternoon to do more transplanting. I have 1 more flat ready to receive seedlings and it will all fit on the tables, which does make me happy. I probably will head out today and see if I can find DH some eclipse glasses. He has no interest in seeing the eclipse, but they may help us keep our sanity until I get the seedlings outside. He was upset this morning with the sunshine coming in the family room windows. My plants need that sunshine and so do I. The sunglasses he has are scratched pretty badly, so I was thinking maybe the eclipse glasses would work for him. I could be totally off on that, but I can't have the plants getting no sunlight and moving his lift chair would be a pain. Guess I better get moving. I have a chat with my cousin in 5 minutes and I am not dressed yet. Wishing everyone a super Sunday.

Karen, I wish there was something I could say or do to make things easier for you but I have no advice never being in your situation. As far as your seedlings go, usually mine live from February until now with no sun, just lights and they seem to do well. No longer than you have to go as long as you keep the lights close to the plants you should be fine until you start hardening off outside.

Hello everyone. It is currently 57Ā° and sunny. We had clouds when I first got up this morning but they blew away. It is gusty out there.
My girlfriend asked if I wanted to do breakfast this morning and I very seldom turn down breakfast so we had breakfast and went to target because she was looking for something but did not find it there. She and her husband leave on Tuesday for a cruise up the Mississippi river.
Have a good day.

Karen, sorry your DH is declining so fast. You definitely need more help.
Charlene, sorry/not sorry. I'm sorry Iowa lost but if they had to lose I'm glad it was to the Lady Gamecocks.
I am exhausted and sore from the walking and standing. I walked over 5,000 steps but the standing around wasn't great on my back. We were there for 5 hours, although we did sit down for a late lunch. Occasionally I would sit for a minute on a bench when I had the chance. I was surprised at the crowd and the heavy traffic going and coming. Last week a lot of schools were on spring break and go back tomorrow so people were probably taking advantage of the nice weather and getting a visit in. It gets hot here quickly so it was a perfect day for a trip to the zoo. One of these days I want to go to the Botanical Gardens which are next to the zoo and part of it but different entrance and price.
I'm going to watch some old Dateline reruns and try to find the sleep I lost last night. Have a goodnight.

Good evening,
I see I never made it here today.
We were a mix of sun & clouds, in the 50s but a cold wind so I didn't get much done outside.
Filled the bird feeders & took care of things in the GH. I tried to drill a hole in the top of the stump so I could screw my washbasin type pot there. That didn't go well. The wood is too hard to drill. Plan B is to dump pea gravel in the bottom of it & that should hold it in place. Especially when it warms up enough to set a potted plant down inside it.
Sue has gone back to her own house now & DB is on his own I went & had pizza with him this evening . While I was there I washed dishes & cleaned up his kitchen. The house is a disaster. I definitely appreciate her staying with him & taking care of him but Harriet Homemaker she's not. LOL
Karen, my seedlings go under lights as soon as they sprout & transplanted when they get big enough. There is a window in the BR but I don't really make use of it for the seedlings. But I have a GH I can put them in after transplanting & you don't. So there's that.
I hate to say this but you need to be preparing yourself mentally for the possibility of putting DH in a nursing home at some point. There will come a time when you won't be able to physically or mentally handle him. Believe me, I know how stressful that is. I told DB one time, in reference to my DH; either he's going to kill me (from stress) or I'm going to kill him. And if he refuses to help himself or do what he's supposed to do as a result of dementia, there's not much you can do.
I'm hoping tomorrow's weather will be nice so I can work outside. I'll go get gravel 1st thing in the morning.
Leslie I got the site to work that shows coverage a couple of days ago. I think it's something like 88% but I'm like Karen, not particularly interested.
I got a reminder notice for my upcoming DISH bill. It is changing from $64 to $106 !!! I looked at the bill online but I can't make heads or tails out of it. I'll wait until the actual bill arrives & then call for an explanation. If they are raising the bill by $42 I'll drop it & try to find an indoor antenna that will work. Or save up a couple months of pmts & sign up for FIOS Broadband ($150 to install & approx $90 for a router.) But much faster internet & you can stream all kinds of stations. That would mean no more Dish pmts & if I use my cell phone only, no more $82 mo.to Verizon.
That's it I guess.
Good night
