Good morning! Looks like another cloudy start to the day with temps hovering in the high 30s. Our day yesterday was very pleasant with good company and food. However, the commute to and fro was a bear with rain and traffic jams. Bill admitted that he has lost his 'zen' after 18 years of not driving in commuter traffic. Succotash chowder hit the spot last night. Tonight we are having the rest of the grain bowl I had for lunch yesterday with another Scotch egg and some cut up veggies. Might be a busy day today with my cousin visiting this morning to help me pack some stuff that I will be taking. Then, this afternoon, my neighbor will be coming over to look at furniture and 'stuff' that she would be interested in buying and taking. Enjoy your morning! The eclipse 'madness' has begun! Looks like our area will have the best viewing. Waving!

Good morning. It is 28°here this morning and to be in the 50's and sunny. Tomorrow we could hit 60°. However right now by the time of the eclipse we are to be mostly cloudy. Hopefully that will change as we are suppose to be in a prime area to see it. I must have slept wrong or something last night. My body feels like it got run over by a mac truck.
My plans for today are to go to the shop and work on plants. I am usually moved into the greenhouse by now and I haven't been able to get it set up. This weather just sucks. I do need to shovel my sidewalk. I have an Amazon order coming tomorrow and I don't think the driver would appreciate wading through the snow. I should spend some time working on my electronics some. I went to watch TV last night for a bit and Roku has messed with my home screen and it has changed. That isn't the power problem as there were no TVs on when the power went off.
I left the second laptop rebuilding when I went to be last night. It is almost done so I will spend a little time working on the problem I am trying to solve on my email. I made progress last night but went too far so back to the drawing board. With my notes I am getting a bit further each time. It now has become an obsession to make it work the way I want it to.
Ann, it must be a bit bittersweet deciding what you can take and what you can't with the move. Glad lunch was great yesterday but sounds like the commute put a bit of a damper on the day.
Time to start my day and maybe accomplish something today. I was going to work but decided against it.
Have a great day.

Good morning Ann and all who follow. Glad you had a good time with family yesterday Ann. I hear you on driving in traffic. I did not drive at all while we were away this year - just not comfortable with busy roads I don't know! I noticed that even hubby was not quite as happy driving as he used to be. A beautiful spring morning here, starting out at just 34 but we'll climb quickly to the mid/high 50s. I made a turkey dinner for us last night and it was just OK. I had bought a "turkey roll" with both white and dark meat but found it was tasteless so definitely will not be buying again. I had thought it would be much easier to slice than meat on the bone 😮. Not sure what's on the menu for tonight. We too are in a area where we will have a total eclipse tomorrow and town is prepared for a big influx of tourists. At the moment we are expecting a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. Off to get some breakfast and then watch the world men's curling final - hoping the Canadians can pull off a win. Have a super Sunday.

Tasty, I guess many of us are getting to the age where we don't like to drive in traffic. Living in a rural area with not even a stoplight is town I never really liked it but now it is even worse. The surrounding towns have traffic lights and I have to really watch myself to remember to look for them. I like to buy a turkey breast then debone it. The are easy to slice and have good flavor but of course only white meat. Good luck to the Canadians today.

Good morning
Not much planned for today other than church on line. I called Lynda yesterday to see if we could go to church together and she said she is not going. She is looking for a different church. Neither of us like the music or all the jibber jabber/videos in the beginning. I've not yet found a different church yet either. Church would be half an hour shorter without the video stuff. I need to look harder. I worked on that a bit this morning after my online service from my home town.
Lunch today will seem really weird to most of you.....imitation crab sticks with butter, green beans and fresh strawberries. Supper I need to choke down some of the meatballs that are in the freezer before they are no good. I'll make mashed potatoes and corn to go with them.
A pretty nice day of 77º predicted, then more wind the rest of the week. You could call us the windy city along with of the sunniest. It has been rainier and windier then ever, or so it seems to me. Like last summer we saw more higher than normal temps and more days of higher than normal humidity. I sure do hope it's not like that this summer too. Ugh! Oh well, nothing is perfect. At least I have heat and a/c. :) That is a blessing.

Good afternoon, friends! Per our morning newscast, today is World Health Day, National Beer Day, and National Coffee Cake Day.
DH just finished up mowing the yard. I've been in the kitchen where I made a pot of Cincinnati-style chili. We'll be grilling dinner this late afternoon: Kickin' Peach Chicken, grilled zucchini and summer squash, and a baked potato. The chicken is a new recipe I'm trying---I'll let you know how it taste.
Ann, no eclipse madness in our area---too far away to see anything much to get excited about. Hope you and DH will be checking it out tomorrow since it's going to be right over your area. Sounds like today it will be a busy day towards your move; hope your neighbor finds plenty of stuff she'd like to buy! I too am another one who doesn't enjoy the heavy traffic on the roads. I find I am driving less and enjoy being chauffeured around like Miss Daisy. Thankful my DH doesn't mind driving and taking me where I need to go.
Bet, hope your weather tomorrow will be cloud-free and you too will have an excellent view for the eclipse. Hopefully your "mac ruck feeling" has moved on already today and you are accomplishing everything you want.
Tasty, I'm sorry you didn't have a positive experience with your turkey roll. I bought one once before, many years ago, and was not pleased with it, moist but no flavor what so ever. I just find it easier to bake a small whole turkey and then I've plenty of leftovers to enjoy as I pull it from the freezer.
Waving to everyone. My break time is over, and I need to get back into the kitchen. Take care. Lori

Good afternoon friends.
Brian and DGS showed up this morning and we have gotten most of the tree area cleaned up. Now to get someone to take it down. I went shopping after as I was out of a bit of stuff. Well $250 later! LOL '
Ann- We are at 97.8% of the eclipse so that is fine for me. Close enough to total for me! We are going up to Brian's house as he lives up a hill with cleared farm land all around. We will make a picnic of it. He was notified by his fire company not to go out of town. Homeland security has put all ambulance and fire and police on notice of possible terrorists attacks. Sheesh! What next right. We have about 200,000 people that entered Vermont yesterday and I-91 is a steady stream today.
Bet- I wondered how your area will fare in all this. All the hotels and motels are full around us. They have been put out a notice for anyone who is willing to rent out a room to do so. LOL I have 2 extra bedrooms! The going rate is $400 a night!
Lori- I would trade your weather right now for this eclipse! LOL
Mamma- Hope you can find a church you like and feel comfortable in.
Tasty- I have been trying to get the curling on my Roku but have not been able to yet. I will keep trying.
Well need to go get the stuff in the freezer that needs t go in and the rest ready for ....well what ever! LOL

Hi. I will soon be going to the ice cream social. I am having a banana split. Lol, so far all I've eaten is sweets today. Breakfast was a cinnamon roll. Lunch was a piece of strawberry pie with homemade whipped cream. Snack will be banana split. Can you tell I am on a sugar high.
Last night at happy hour they had the final four game on. I enjoyed watching it as Grant is from my hometown area. Too bad they didn't win.
Tonight we are having bean soup. I will then go play cards.

Good afternoon! We have not been hearing nearly as much about the eclipse here since we are not in the "path of totality" or whatever they call it, like we were for the last one. I think it was 7 years ago? In Upstate SC, about 85% of the sun will be blocked. Anyway, the forecast is for partly cloudy skies so we probably won't see anything! I find I just don't really care that much.
I was able to get my Mexican food fix today at our favorite place. I tried something new -- that doesn't happen too often -- and it was a mixed bag. The corn sope with chicken, beans, and molcajete sauce was bland, but the chicken enchilada was very good. I just added some salsa to the sope and ate it all anyway.
Came home and watched the NCAA womens' final four so I am a happy Gamecock fan right now. Pretty amazing to watch them pull off an undefeated season!
I think I tried one of those turkey rolls years ago -- but only once. I usually buy a turkey breast since DH prefers white meat and they are smaller. I have cooked them in the crockpot when I needed to do that, but prefer it oven-roasted.
I hear y'all about driving in traffic. We have gotten used to our small town and it is always an adjustment when I am back in Louisville, or in Myrtle Beach.
Trying to decide on tomorrow's dinner -- I had thought about chicken tenders last night and we had roast beef sandwiches instead, so I think I'll go with the chicken tomorrow night.
