Good evening,
It was an off & on kind of day. Started out nice & after sitting for a while I did go out & get some more of the front yard reseeded, the round bed cleaned up & the bottom 3rd of the slope weeded & cleaned up. It's not looking too good this year with all the traffic going up & down it But I can only do what I can. It used to have beautiful creeping phlox on it & that is mostly gone. I have plans to replace a lot of that with Ice Plant.
Anybody have any other suggestions for a perennial blooming ground cover that gets good sun?
Sure enough while I was working on the slope, it clouded over, got windy & chilly. A shower popped up early this evening but just enough to wet the streets.
But the lack of sun this afternoon & that little shower (I think) interfered with the bleach wash I put on the soffit this morning I don't see bit of difference.
I didn't get around to gathering up debris, etc; for the stump hole That's 1st on the agenda for tomorrow morning before DB gets here.
Karen, BTDT & in those same circumstances. I'm glad he wasn't hurt. I don't remember ever having to get a Rx for the handicapped tag. As best as I can recall it was permanent. Do you have the handicapped license plates?
Leslie, I've never been to a church that had a PT Preacher.
Bet sounds like a total mess up there on that hill. I hope your power comes back overnight. Somebody needs to have a talk with Mother Nature.
The seed starting talk reminded me I put the last of my transplants into the GH today. I still have Yarrow to transplant & that will be it. The Foxglove are doing really well & there are a lot of them, which is a good thing because that might be all I'll have in the back yard this year.
Signing off for now.

Karen, I'm sorry to see that your hubby fell again. Does he use a cane or walker at all? He may not like the idea, but it may be better to him than calling the medics for help. Thank you, Tasty! He has a cane and a walker. The cane he only uses when he leaves the house, but I have told him that he needs it inside as well. I use mine inside so I don't understand his reluctance to using his. His walker is a really good one. It's a Rollator that his friend gave to DH after his DM passed away. For several years, he used it only for holding his laptop. Now, it just sits in the family room. I use it to transport water when I soak his feet, but that is the extent of the use it gets. It's frustrating to me. I use my crappy old walker when I get up in the night to go to the bathroom because it makes me feel more secure than my cane after I've been off my feet for a while. He just doesn't feel the same way. I'd like to think this fall would make him rethink his cane, but I don't expect that. Gayle, I wonder about bugleweed or ajuga for your ground cover. It can be invasive is the only problem. It has pretty periwinkle blue flowers that I do enjoy. My DMIL had some growing out front when we bought the house. I moved some to the back along the garage. That has stayed nicely. The stuff out front, what DMIL had growing in a bed, is now out into the yard. I don't particularly care, but just know that might happen if you plant it there. We don't have handicapped license plates. We just have regular plates and buy new stickers each year unless we want to pay extra for new plates. The way our handicap situation works is we need a prescription from a doctor to purchase a hang tag for $5 that will allow us to park in handicapped spots wherever. We can take that with us even if someone else is driving us in their car. It's kind of convenient once you get the thing. Mine is good for 5 years. I guess you can get them for a lifetime but my doctor doesn't write for those for some reason. I'm just really thankful for the five year deal. I wasn't looking forward to the 6 month prescription the PA from the ortho guy was sending. It's a pain in the butt dealing with going to the BMV one time. Having to do it again after 6 months would have sucked!
