Mornin. Not a great day. I has been snowing since about 4 yesterday afternoon. We aren't going to get as much as predicted but any in April is too much in my opinion. My greenhouses usually go up this week but not going to happen. The temperature is right at 30°and it hasn't been above freezing since midnight. It isn't too heavy but decide to paying to have it plowed. I really don't feel like snow blowing but also I hate to pay to have it done. The wind has been terrible. Yesterday was a wasted day. I didn't get anything done I had planned. Spent a little time in the shop checking things and a little watering. Did get the rack ready for seed starting have the heat mat going. Spent way too much time trying to program lights on that so they came on at 7 this morning now if the go off at 7 tonight I have it figured out.
I have been working on Lions for the past 2 hours at least. It is a good thing I got up at 4. The dishwasher needs emptying and the dishes in the sink get put in. I have food that I should get packaged and moved downstairs and a few things in the refrigerator that need to go in the freezer. However, my main goal is to get seed planted today.
I am also resetting my old computer again but the power went off in the middle of that so had to fix that. Power has been off for about an hour. It is still snowing. At 7 we had 6 inches and now looks like we have at least 2 more inches. It is starting to come off the roof so I really should go out and shovel the walk.
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. It is 32º and going to lower 40s later. Yesterday was just a nasty day weather-wise with strong winds making it feel like the teens. The roads to work were quite icy, but better by time I came home.
It wasn't super busy at work yesterday, but a really different group of people. I asked my boss if they'd brought a bus load of people from a mental institution....lol.
I was surprised and thrilled this morning to see many spots of green in the seed tray I just planted Tuesday afternoon...unbelievable.
This morning I need to fill my friends bird feeders, take Curt to the post office and then take Phyllis to lunch. I just may plant more seeds this afternoon. I guess seeing those little green spots woke up the seed starting itch inside of me.
Bette...I heard about the NY weather on TV and figured you were getting hit with snow. Sorry about losing power yet again. It's time for Mother Nature to switch us over to Spring, isn't it?
Wishing everyone a great day. Charlene

Good morning. We will only be in the 60s today. I switched my heat pump from ac back to heat and won't be opening windows today. It's windy as well so feels colder. I'll just do some things inside and take the trash later. Late this afternoon I will meet my friend at our usual restaurant for supper. Since we don't go to church together anymore we will likely be meeting more often than we use to. She and her husband will also be looking for another church but I seriously doubt we will end up at the same one.
Bet, I'm so sorry you got hit with snow and that your power is out. I don't blame you for deciding to pay someone to deal with the snow. You can't do it all.
Charlene, that's funny about the odd customers. Enjoy your seed starting. I was going to put my seedlings back on the porch but it's too windy and chilly so I need to go put the lights back on them.

More of the same ol', same ol' weather here. We're cloudy and unseasonably cool, but at least we are not getting what Bet is getting. I'm sure sorry to hear about her weather! I'm currently on hold with the PCP's office. UGH! I need to know about my handicap tag and if we canceled and rescheduled DH's appointment with them that I have on two calendars for next Tuesday. When I check their patient portal, that shows he doesn't have an appointment until June. So long as I need to verify that, I may as well ask, yet again, about the stupid prescription for the hang tag. Things are looking good on my seedling table. I have so much growing that I sometimes miss certain things and how much they've grown. I'm a little more confident now that I will be able to pull this off. Yesterday I posted on the museum's Facebook page about our upcoming re-dedication and opening for 2024, receiving pretty nice responses. Several of the other community pages picked up the post and shared it to their pages. I'm hopeful that we will get a good turnout in May. As always, we want to make our friend, Jack, proud. UPDATE on the handicap tag prescription. It sounds like they put the prescription in the mail yesterday so I ought to be getting it soonish. To be sure I get it in my hot little hands, I am going to go pick up a copy this morning. I need to go mail the house payment anyway, so I will stop by and get it personally. I don't know how long this is good for, but it is hopefully longer than the 6 months the PA at the ortho guy's office was willing to write it for. She was probably being difficult because I didn't go along with her osteoporosis clinic project she was pushing. Cost and time were my issue that she didn't seem very interested in hearing. Caregiving is time consuming and those injections she was proposing were not cheap even with financial assistance. Anyway, I hope to be able to get my new handicap tag today! Good for you, Gayle, on getting the weather station for free! This was not your error so don't feel bad about keeping the thing. Yay on your DB coming to deal with your stump roots! Hi Mary! I think you posted on yesterday's thread. I'm glad your lines are underground so you don't lose power during storms. Charlene, I'm pleased to read you are getting your seed starting mojo back! All didn't seem right with the world when you didn't want to start seeds. 😊 I'm really sorry your day is starting off so difficult, Bet. I hope it gets better as time goes on! Have a good time, Leslie, with your friend at dinner tonight. I think I missed something on you looking for another church. That can't be a good story, but the ending could be. I am 100% happier now that I changed churches. I often marvel at how much so. Prayers that you land in the perfect place for you! I need to go grab a bite to eat before I head out. Have a good day however you spend yours!

Good afternoon, We are sunny for a change; 60* with a chilly breeze but not too bad. I've been out to fill bird feeders, put my tulips on the front steps now that they are blooming (see picture thread), changed out my Easter flags & the wreath on the front door. Then I made the mistake of picking up 2 heavy slabs of rock to take to the back yard w/o putting on my back belt. I'm now paying for that. I also mixed up some water, bleach & Dawn in a pump sprayer to spray the soffit because of the black stains on them. Carrying the sprayer around & stretching up to reach the spots didn't help. Hopefully the Tylenol will kick in soon. I have more I want to do while I have sunshine. Leslie, I also didn't know you were looking for a new church. Y'all haven't found a pastor you like?
Mary I saw you on Wed. thread. You look forward to using your swing. I'm looking forward to getting things cleaned up & re-planted. Our lines are underground also except for the oldest ones on the corridor (main street in & out). Those are still on poles so if a line goes down anywhere in the area we lose power. We used to also lose water when that happened as no power for the well pumps. Several yrs ago they put up a water tower so that fixed that problem.
I want to do some more reseeding & maybe clean up the small round bed in the middle of the front yard today. Also start gathering up "stuff" to dump in the hole under the stump now that I know what's going on there. I'll give my back a little time to ease off & WILL wear my belt.
That's my day so far. I'll check back here later.

Gayle, we did find a great full time pastor since the committee believed we needed a full time pastor. Unfortunately the majority of the people wanted a part time one like we've had since just before the pandemic. I believe they had just gotten too comfortable in just attending on Sunday mornings and not doing much else. As long as enough money came in to pay for the upkeep on a good sized building they were content. So I, and a few others, decided it was time to leave. I had been there for 30 years but I believe God has a better plan than that. I can watch services on Facebook if that's all there is to it, but I'm looking into another church. In a few weeks I'll pick one to visit and see how things go. In the meantime I am also watching the services on Facebook of the church where the pastor we were talking to is. Different people like different things I guess.
Hope your back gets better. I'm moving and cutting up limbs to burn on a calm day, hopefully before the snakes are out, and have to keep taking breaks because of my back.

Good afternoon. It was foggy here this morning when we started out at 9 then the sun came out for a minute now it is cloudy and we had some rain spritz on us when we came out of a store.
I put a pie in the oven that I just bought at Aldi's I saw that some people said it was good so I hope they were right.
Nothing going on around here at the moment so have a good day everyone.

Good afternoon all. I'm trying to get myself back into a routine in the mornings rather than. Just having a quick cup of tea and sitting down with my tablet. So today I got a 30 minute walk in indoors, made a pot of pea and ham soup, did some grocery shopping instead. Now of course I'm watching the curling on tv. Have a great day.

Afternoon. It hasn't go any better since this morning except at the moment it doesn't look like it is snowing. There is another 4" out there. The sidewalk has 3-2' of hard packed snow from the roof. I just cut through about 3' of that and shoveled a path across the back deck and down the steps so after I get plowed out I can at least get out of the house if necessary once I shovel through the snowbank the plow leaves. Birdy, glad to see you posting today. I was concerned. Glad you are getting some of the comforts of home with the refrig etc. I started this a couple of hours ago but have been sidetracked trying to get my internet up and running properly again. Power went off again about 4 1/4 hours ago and no idea when it will be back one. It has pretty much stopped snowing and the temperature is up to 33° which means that snow is getting heavier and heavier on the trees. At the rate we are going I have a feeling dinner plans will change. At the moment am munching on Ritz vegetables crackers and a yummy onion and dill dip. That may be dinner.
Charlene, you have a busy day as usual. I did get a few seed planted today but it didn't really inspire me to continue. Of course looking out at all the snow may have something to do with that. I always amazes me where some of these people come from that they can be so difficult.
Leslie, enjoy your supper out with your friend today. Reading about you leaving your church a while back I had a feeling it had something to do the mind set of some about the needs of the church.
Karen, hope the handicap situation is straightened. I don't have to get a prescription since the first one 20 years ago. Just have to take the expiring tag into our town clerk and they issue a new one. Sounds like you folks are making great progress getting everything ready for the Museum.
Gayle, glad DB is going to help you out with the tree stump. I have 2 WORX chainsaws and I love them. Hope you back calms down.
Caro, I would much prefer you drizzle rather than what we got hit with today. Hope the pie is what you expected.
Enjoy your evening.

Charlene, believe me you don't want it. Finally got my driveway plowed about an hour ago and now the hill is all ice as it gets colder tonight. Still with out power since 10:30 this morning and no signs of restoration. I am just going to bed and let the generator sing me to sleep. NOT

Thanks, Bet, on the good wishes for the handicap tag. It did work out well. Originally, though, I was concerned because the piece of mail I got from the state said that I had to have an original prescription, not a copy of one. What I thought I was picking up at the doctor's office was just a printout of his order and didn't know if it would be good enough. It was! I was so thankful for that and the timing of my arrival at the motor vehicle bureau. There were maybe 8 or 10 people in there when I walked in. Right after me, things changed. A line formed pretty quickly. This was actually one of my shortest times in there for something. I'm so sorry about all you are dealing with today. I hope you can sleep well tonight and relax. An adult beverage just might be in order for you tonight.
Leslie, I wanted to let you know that I am getting a Texas Star Hibiscus coming up now. Thank you for sending me seeds. I was very close to giving up after having clearly messed up the first time I sowed the seeds. I tried one last time, I think on March 21st, doing everything totally opposite of what I did the first time. Last night before going to bed, I thought I was seeing something sprouting. This morning, that was confirmed. I'm excited about having that this year. It is really a blessing that we can participate in worship services via online options these days. During the pandemic, I watched services at two different churches and was happy with both of them. When our bishop said it was time to go back to in-person worshipping, I had to make a pros and cons list to decide which church I would chose. I mourned losing the church I didn't choose because I very much enjoyed the pastors and a nun who was a big part of things, but I never have regretted the church I chose. I'm happy, getting what I need, and have grown a ton. I hope you find what you need and are looking for.
Something unfortunate happened this afternoon. DH fell again. I was talking to DM on the phone when I heard him yelling, "Karen, I need you." He'd fallen in the bathroom somehow and crawled out to the family room thinking he could get himself up. He couldn't. I called our nephew who is a paramedic to see if he was home so he could help me get him up. He was working and suggested I call the fire department to get him up. His wife was working - she's a medic - and he thought that might help DH feel more comfortable. DH was furious that I called our nephew and was adamant I not call the fire department. I could see his point. He was nearly naked and wasn't wanting to be seen like that by anyone. It took at least a half an hour and trying everything I could think of to get him up, but he finally was able to get up on his knees and swing himself around and up into the chair. He was psyching himself out each time he would get close to being upright. It may have been my suggestion that I call his cousin (a former paramedic) that encouraged DH to push through and not stop before he got where he needed to be. It's been a challenging day, but everything has worked out okay. I'm now going out to the family room for "date night". We watch "Young Sheldon" together for date night whenever that is on.
Have a good rest of your night. Hope the day was good to you all.

Karen, I'm sorry to see that your hubby fell again. Does he use a cane or walker at all? He may not like the idea, but it may be better to him than calling the medics for help.
