Good morning! It's 35° with some very gusty wind out there. Looking out, everything is coated in white. Looks to be about an inch of snow, but there could be ice under and over that. Scotch eggs and a dinner salad was great last night. Tonight stuff pulled from the freezer...roasted vegetable sauce, meatballs, gnocchi is on the menu. After getting back from the senior center, I looked into antique dealers and 'estate' sales. So far I have a local antique dealer coming next week and and estate sales person also coming next week...TBD. Hope to get back later today to chat. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Mornin. Not a great day. I has been snowing since about 4 yesterday afternoon. We aren't going to get as much as predicted but any in April is too much in my opinion. My greenhouses usually go up this week but not going to happen. The temperature is right at 30°and it hasn't been above freezing since midnight so not to sure how wet and heavy it is. I will check it as soon as it gets light and decide if I am snow blowing or paying to have it plowed. I really don't feel like snow blowing but also I hate to pay to have it done. The wind has been terrible.
Yesterday was a wasted day. I didn't get anything done I had planned. Spent a little time in the shop checking things and a little watering. Did get the rack ready for seed starting have the heat mat going. Spent way too much time trying to program I lights on that so will know at 7 this morning if I finally figured it out.
When I get off here I have a bunch of Lions' work to get done. Have minutes to type from last months board meeting and the regular meeting. The dishwasher needs emptying and the dishes in the sink get put in. I have food that I should get packaged and moved downstairs and a few things in the refrigerator that need to go in the freezer. However, my main goal is to get seed planted today.
Jan, hope your hand improves rapidly and you are back with us soon.
Birdy, I see you are reading but no posting the past couple of days.
Ann, that is rather disappointing the way the auction house would handle your sale. Hope you get some better answers next week. I have a lot of things that will go to the Lions' garage sale in May. Most of it is already boxed up. I have a lot of tools that were my husbands but I am sure my DSoIL will take some and also DS. Some I want to keep.
Lori, how nice you were able to get reservations at Disney for a family weekend.
Mamma, great that the painter were so fast to get your painting done. With new window dressings I am sure it will be bright and cheerful.
Tasty, it must have felt good to get back to the canning group.
Chris, you are certainly in demand subbing. Did you get the quite finished while getting paid to just sit.
Helen, isn't technology great.
Tammy, you certainly have been busy. You visit with your friends sounds great however.
Elaine, you day yesterday was certainly a full on also.
Elza, it is nice to have the running around all done.
Dinner tonight will be baked acorn squash with butter and brown sugar and stuffed with breakfast sausage meatballs.
Have a great day.
Bet

Ann and Bet, your meals for tonight sound really good. I have a chuck roast in the crockpot ready to go for our dinner tonight.
We had strong winds all day yesterday and looks like the same today. Highs have gone from 80s to 60s -- we got to test out our new AC and now back to heat!
Other than that, not too much going on except car stuff. We are in the process of getting a new-to-us car for me, from a friend who is selling his MIL's car since she no longer sees well enough to drive. I did a test drive and liked it, so DH is taking it to our mechanic to have it checked today before we commit.

Good morning to everyone! Today our national food holidays are Carrot Day, Cordon Bleu Day, and Ramen Noodle Day.
I must have been tired last night as I slept in this morning 45 minutes longer than I normally get up on weekdays. Getting ready now to bike and then come back home to finish the granola I started yesterday. Looking forward to checking out the new Publix later this afternoon. No idea what I'm doing for dinner this evening. Lori

Good morning, all. Bet was right--I have been reading but not posting. I dictated a fairly long post yesterday but got interrupted and forgot to post it. By the time I remembered, it was too late to recover it. I'll try to summarize it today.
I woke up around 7:00 this morning to discover the world was white. The aid who stopped in told me that many people were late this morning because of the roads it would have to wait a bit to get up. Not a problem. In fact my regular Aid showed up about 7:30 which wasn't bad. Several schools in the region, including the school district where my facility is, are closed and the rest on the 2-hour delay. It is that nasty heavy wet snow that can be so hard to drive in. I don't think we got more than three inches. I see where parts of upstate New York in the Adirondacks and New England get as much as two and a half feet. Bet and Chris, thinking of you!
Yesterday was busy. I picked up my little 1.7 cubic foot refrigerator yesterday afternoon and it seems to be working well. And very quiet too. That will come in handy this summer we're cold drinks as well as the little ice machine that I bought last summer. Too bad I need so many pureed Foods or I would be ordering takeout all the time. I do have one of those Magic Bullet personal blenders and I am thinking of making myself fruit smoothies.
I also head of from my friend who uses their pool for PT exercise once a week. So it was a busy day. Troy found someone to fix my dangerous cellar stairs for less than I had expected. With the price of lumber being so high, I was surprised to find the price came out about 2/3 of what I expected. And knowing Troy, I know the work will be done well he knows so many people in the city that they don't want Word of Mouth to get out that they did a poor job!
Jan, why don't you try out the dictation feature for input for your computer or phone. It judge makes some funny mistakes but they are usually much easier to correct then typing the whole thing with one finger. There are lots of places online where you can find the directions for doing this.
Tasty, aren't you glad you weren't driving home yesterday with all the severe weather? I bet it's good to get back to the canning group again and prep for next year. You'll have to get working again!
Chris, I can't wait to see the Frog quilt. I bet it's really cute. What did the kids say while you were working on it in class?
Helen, I don't often get a chance to talk to you because of the time change but I have to say that what you cook is right down my alley. How I wish I could get into the kitchen and cook for myself. You have to have permission from on high to even consider it. One woman I know tried to make a cake like that and they insisted that she be just a bystander with and Aid doing all the work. Not my idea of fun.
My niece gave me a potted calendula for Easter. It is only about 4 in tall in a tight bundle of blossoms there are a dark purple blue. It says it is Hardy zones three through eight so I am hoping they will let me transplant it by the building when it is done blooming.
Not much going on today except watching the snow turn into rain and then back to snow. We had some serious wind last night but thankfully that seems to be over. Hope the rest of you are having some calm weather.
Have a good day. Talk to you later.
Birdy

Good morning. Last night I tossed and turned for so long that I didn't wake up and get up until 6:45. Then it was jump into clothes and get Mandy out. I got a chance to chat with Mary for a bit, first time this week that we were there at the same time. Her little Emily was so happy to see me she whined as she ran up to me. So cute. Mandy was quick and then ready to head home for her treat. It was a nicer 60º so no winter coat today. Now it's time for my coffee and cookies. :D
Today I can put the rest of my things on the walls and take a shower. I was asked to wait to take a shower if I liked hot steamy showers, which I do. Boy will the shower feel good today. It was amazing how much brighter the rooms were with the lighter paint. The light really reflected well and less lights get turned on too. :)
Yesterday my new curtains came. The one by the table I'll keep but the one in the living room I am sending back. I'll just stick with the plain white sheers for now, the other was too busy and shrunk the room. Everything feels bigger now too. I'm happy that I only ordered the one curtain and not all 4 for the living room. I just wanted to see if I liked it. If my room was bigger I would keep it and order the rest, but my rooms are small enough without making them look even smaller.
My friend Jill came home and I don't think her stay in the "facility" did any good at all. In fact she is so not good that she is willing to stay with her sister for awhile. They do not get along at all. Jill even re-homed her pug Ember and told me I didn't need to water her flowers, to just let them die. That is so not Jill. I'm really worried about her. And I don't think she will be coming back home. I just have a bad feeling. :'(
Lunch today will be a lettuce salad of some kind and supper my be a tv dinner so I don't heat up the house with the ac running.
Well back to my coffee and then my to do list. Hot today again and the wind will return too, then a chilly couple days. Next week should send the last of the snowbirds home as our temps will be in the mid 90's.

Good morning. Its another beautiful morning here. Its supp9se to be windy and cool tomorrow.
I was up all night, tonight will be another all night errands as I worry that I won't hear my alarm. I had to have Cici at dog park at 7. Lol, certain dogs have certain times they go.
Judy has her edg and colonoscopy tomorrow. She needs to be at hospital at 8 for edg and then they are doing colonoscopy at 9:30 seems l8ke a long time to be 7nder anesthesia. So I am waiting for a phone call.
Ann- your meal last night looked real good.i hope next week's news is better.
Birdy- do you still have alot of swelling? Glad Troy was able to find someone to help you.
Elza- a new vehicle, how fun.
Lori- always fun to check out a new grocery store. Hope you find some good deals.
Bet- I just got the budget meeting minutes typed up. So now I have to read those minutes also at the meeting, lol.
Mamma- we are so opposite when it comes to snowbirds leaving. I wish they didn't. Our activities dwindle way down. I am hoping our card games don't. For instance Sunday we have an ice cream social, Monday- taco salad lunch Wednesday- potluck Then the next Sunday a pizza party.
Tonight, DH is grill8ng a steak and asperagus on the grill for us.
We won't have lunch as I made scrambled eggs with games and a hashbrown patty for breakfast.

It'll be a pretty warm day here with a high of 79. I just noticed all the trees are bright green with new leaves. Seems early but then the days pass so quickly that the months come and go before I know it. Well hi Bet! Looks like you have a dilemma trying to decide which is the lesser of the two evils. Wish you could just take a little nana nap and dream of spring. Birdy, my Hubby had one of those nice little refrigerators for his room, too. It didn't keep his favorite ice cream sandwiches really frozen hard but don't worry, that didn't bother him. Sure wish you could order in food whenever you wanted. My suppers are usually whatever I am craving which luckily is often from a restaurant. 🤗 Speaking of supper, tonite's will be leftover salmon with creamy peas/pearl onions over the top. Also a couple of the garlic cheddar biscuits stashed in the freezer. I'm feeling pretty sleepy so will have a nana nap myself. Hugs

Ann, you must be so excited! Hope moving day is a little warmer than it is today.
I was up early this morning and am trying to get back into a routine of doing something rather than just sitting down with my tea and tablet 🙃. So, knowing it was cold out just after 6am, I decided on half an hour's walk indoors. Then I was really ready for that first cuppa! I had left the ham bone in the crackpot overnight so I had the ham stock ready for pea & ham soup. That was lunch and so good. We're going to have taco salad for supper this evening, and, as I thought, I had no ground beef in the freezer. So I walked over to the nearest grocery store this morning and picked some up and salad fixins! Now I am watching curling from Switzerland 😊. You maybe didn’t do what you planned yesterday Bet, but I'm sure the day wasn't wasted. Hope the car gets a clean bill of health for you Elza. We had some carrots in the soup at lunchtime Lori - that's as close as we'll get to any of the food holidays today. Have a good time at the new Publix. Sure you can find something good for supper while you are there. Good to see you posting again Birdy. You've had more snow there than we had. We got snow yesterday afternoon late on but it was followed by rain and e erything melted. Some is coming down now, but again it is melting. I'm glad to see that Troy is still helping you. You are so right about being glad to be back with the canners but I was really tired afterwards. We, mostly they, have already made just shy of 1000 ready for the market. White sheers go with everything mamma! Hope Jill improves soon. Elaine you are so busy always - do you ever sit and relax? Glad you had such a good visit with friends Tammy. Your salmon supper sounds yummy Helen. Enjoy your nice weather. Back to the curling 😃.

Afternoon. It hasn't go any better since this morning except at the moment it doesn't look like it is snowing. There is another 4" out there. The sidewalk has 3-2' of hard packed snow from the roof. I just cut through about 3' of that and shoveled a path across the back deck and down the steps so after I get plowed out I can at least get out of the house if necessary once I shovel through the snowbank the plow leaves.
Birdy, glad to see you posting today. I was concerned. Glad you are getting some of the comforts of home with the refrig etc.
I started this a couple of hours ago but have been sidetracked trying to get my internet up and running properly again. Power went off again about 4 1/4 hours ago and no idea when it will be back one. It has pretty much stopped snowing and the temperature is up to 33° which means that snow is getting heavier and heavier on the trees. At the rate we are going I have a feeling dinner plans will change. At the moment am munching on Ritz vegetables crackers and a yummy onion and dill dip. That may be dinner.
Elza, hope all goes well with the new car check up. Your beef roast sounds good. Haven't made one in ages.
Ann, love the pictures. Were you able to have the layout of the kitchen the way you wanted it?
Lori, hope you find something good and new at the store this afternoon.
Mamma, glad you got you good steamy shower this morning. Sorry you didn't like the curtains. The sheers sound great.
Elaine you do so much for everyone. Sorry you loose sleep worrying about being up on time. I don't read the minutes at the meetings. They are sent out with the notice of the meeting and just approved at the meeting.
Helen, I like you weather a lot better than mine.
Chris, I love the frogs.
I feel like a need a nap but my guy hasn't plowed me out and I need to pay him when he comes.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet
