Good morning! It's 42° and cloudy. A "Nor'easter" is predicted to start RAINING in this area by evening, and it will last for 2 days. No white stuff is expected, but there will be high winds. It's a different prediction in the highlands of NH so folks are gearing up for power losses and tree damage. Our walk through at Baldwin was fantastic. Mind you, a walk through just means a 'look see'! From the main building C, we walked outside to the entrance to building D. Saw the mail room and lower lobby. Took the elevator to the 4th floor and exited into a 'lobby' where there will be furniture and walked several steps around the corner to 'our' door!! Stepped into a work in progress...completed kitchen, beautiful floors, completed 1/2 and full bath, laundry 'closet', walk-in-closet, den, balcony, and bedroom. All is still dusty, and some things are not finished, but we were thrilled. We requested several things...one more towel bar in the full bath, grab bars in the walk in shower, and having the grab bar/toilet paper holder moved from under the other towel bar (a man must have installed it! If left, a wet towel would have covered the toilet paper!!) The kitchen is compact with loads of cabinets and drawers, trash cabinet, huge & deep sink, upgraded appliances including a great stacked washer/dryer (Bill checked that out!!!) We have to get some sort of something to put next to the washer dryer for storing supplies and folding laundry. We signed papers indicating our acceptance of the apartment and scheduled closing and moving dates!! Late May it will be!!! Today, I have to talk to the movers and start the process of getting the auction from MaxSold. All good! Bill's meat pie was a welcome supper with leftover squash medley to which I added some sautéed cabbage to stretch it. Slept deeply last night...wonder why!?!?! Enjoy your morning! Hope to post a few pictures later today. Waving!

Ann, that is so exciting! It sounds great. LOL at the TP holder under a towel bar -- seriously? Glad you could get that changed.
Chris, enjoy your sewing day!
We have rain and thunderstorms in the forecast for tonight but mostly early hours of tomorrow morning -- the forecaster said that an "inversion effect" will cause the thunder to be especially loud. Might not get much sleep tonight but, of course, it doesn't always happen just the way they say it will.
Last night DH wanted Italian so we headed to The Red Tomato -- hadn't been there in a quite a while and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I had their spaghetti with chicken and mushrooms, and it was so delicious. We both brought home enough for another meal.

Hello and good morning to all! Today is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. Breakfast was a slice of homemade bread, toasted and spread with both.
Has been a busy morning already---Amazon package delivered before 5AM, dishwasher ran and emptied, bread dough currently in the bread machine doing its thing, and ironing board set up and waiting for me to do my thing. Was hoping to sneak an outdoor bike ride in yet today, but Lordy, the humidity is up and I'm not in the mood to deal with that this morning, so I'll pedal indoors sometime later. Currently 72* with a feel like of 82*.
Ann, I'm looking forward to your Baldwin pictures---I'm getting so excited for you and Bill! In my laundry room, I have a narrow three-tiered rolling cart that fits between my washer and dryer for me to put my laundry supplies on. Maybe you can find something similar to help you.
Chris, I hope you can spend the entire day doing what you enjoy best---sewing. Hope Dan enjoyed the potatoes.
Elza, they have changed our "yellow alert day" for tomorrow to "red alert", meaning more of a sever forecast. Our bad weather is supposed to move in around dinner time tomorrow evening, but like you say, it doesn't always happen the way they say.
mamma, thinking of you and Mandy this morning. Hope your painter got started yesterday and is already hard at work again this morning. How exciting and nice it will be to have a fresh coat of paint on the walls and to brighten up your place!
Today we'll finish up all the salads from Sunday. Right now, I'm looking at English Muffin pizzas to have with them. Need to get moving here---hope to be back sometime later. Lori

Good morning my friends.
Up at 6, coffee and cookies, dressed and out the door with Mandy by 6:20. I have everything ready that I am able to do. There are a few things I need to show the men before they start. I hope I chose the right color because it's too late to change my mind now.
Mandy and I will be confined to the craft room since I have no place else I can go with her. I'll have to block the doorway so she doesn't offer her help. She loves to supervise and get in the way. There is a small tv in here hooked up to Roku so I will have something to do other than be on the computer. But there is hardly room to move. We can also go on several walks or for a ride in the golf cart if we aren't blocked in the carport.
A chilly 52º this morning but warming up to 80º today. The wind will return sometime today through tomorrow. I hope no more rain for a couple days. We need the rain, but a break would be nice too.
Ann, I have a free standing tp holder because I didn't like the location of the mounted one. It works very well.
Thanks Lori. They didn't get started yesterday and am hoping that they will get here around 8 as we have scheduled. I can't live in this mess too long. hehehehe Coffee, cookies and doughnuts on the porch ready and waiting, help yourselves.

Ann, Sure is exciting to see the inside of your Baldwin unit at last. What fun you'll have getting new furniture! Lori, hope the yellow alert tames back down by the time it gets to you. We had bad weather all around last nite but we got heavy rain and high winds and none of the tornadoes. Lori, The mention of all your salads makes me wish I had some. Maybe I should whip up another wedge salad with the tender baby icebergs for my supper. Hope you're loving your new color, mamma. Tasty, what fun meeting with your canning ladies! Chris, you deserve a whole day of doing just what you want. Well, without any other inspiration I believe I will go for that wedge salad for supper. Have a good day, all!

I now have the binding sewn on to the Frog quilt and will just finish it up tomorrow at work. The students are testing so I have to just sit in the room. I will do the hand sewing on the binding while sitting there. So it should be done by this time tomorrow.

Just checked with DS1 in Kentucky -- he is south of Louisville and said they had storms off and on during the day but nothing bad. My BF lives NE of Louisville, where a tornado crossed from Indiana and hit that area pretty hard. She said they don't have damage, just power outage. She said the neighborhood across the road had a lot of trees down. Rough day up there, all day long.

It was hard having to concentrate this morning - first in a while! Another successful canning day tho! This afternoon, I did get the living room cleaned - dusted, polished and vacuumed. Would like to get the windows done too but that may wait. Watched the Canadians play New Zealand this afternoon and now we watching them play the US team.
