**Refrigerator Angel Biscuits
1 pkg. yeast 2 Tbsp. warm water 2-1/2 c. all-purpose flour 2 Tbsp. sugar 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 6 Tbsp. shortening 1 cup buttermilk (can use 2 Tbsp. vinegar in 1 cup milk)
*Soften yeast in warm water for 5 minutes. Set aside. *Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in large mixing bowl. Cut shortening into flour mixture. *Stir yeast and 1/2 cup buttermilk into flour mixture, then rest of buttermilk. Cover and store in refrigerator. (I usually leave it overnight.) *Pat dough out on floured surface and cut into biscuits. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or till lightly browned.
Makes about 30 small biscuits

Thanks for sharing the recipe. Do they freeze well?

Elza, thanks for posting your recipe for Angel Biscuits. Since it's just DH and myself, I too am wondering how these freeze. Thanks. Lori

Lori, Decide how many you want to freeze....Place them on a parchment lined sheet pan spaced so they don't touch ...freeze until hard then put in a freezer bag. Take out as needed, thaw and let rise. Note...for better rising push straight down on cutter, do not twist. When ready to bake, I tear off a sheet of plastic wrap, lay it on top of rolls, spray with oil then pick it up and turn it over on the rolls and let rise. It will come right up without sticking. Thank you Doris -- I've never frozen them!
I would guess that Bet's " brown & serve" method would work too: bake at 275 for 20 minutes until set but not browned, wrap well & freeze. Bake uncovered from frozen at 400 for 10 minutes.

Have been making these for years. An AF wife from Papillion told me any fool could make these after I said I couldn’t make biscuits! Great recipe.

With my history of biscuit making and your comment Linda, I think I need to try these 😃.

Mix them up, put them in a plastic bag and bake as many as you want anytime in a week or two.

Made them today - left the dough in the fridge all afternoon - then baked them in time to have with chili for supper tonight 😋 👍. I obviously made them big as I certainly didn't get 30 but we enjoyed them. The leftovers are in the fridge. Oops, make that freezer but hubby found them at breakfast time. He does love his biscuits! Thanks for sharing.
