Good morning! It's a spring cloudy and warm start to the day. It's supposed to be a warmish and sunny day. Leftover semi-homemade pizza from the freezer was great with a side garden salad. Will do the usual chores today and more sorting...endless, that!! Dinner tonight is sauerbraten with the rest of the eye round I had in the freezer, noodles, and sautéed zucchini, summer squash and onions. I seed the squash, dice it and cook with diced onions. Enjoy your day! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- Not sure what will be for any meals here today. Dan wants to sleep in and I am up and at 'em! LOL
So today I am going to White River Jct to go to a play at Northern Stage with Dan's cousin. She got 2 tickets and so she asked me to go with her. We will eat lunch at Big Fatty's BBQ just around the corner from the Northern Stage. Then tomorrow I take Dan's other cousin (91 yo) to her nieces birthday arty in Norwich CT. So poor Dan is on his own for 2 days for meals! Well he won't starve as I made stuff up and all he has to do is heat it up. LOL Me may do Easter dinner with Brian and family at their house.

Good morning gang. It was so nice to sleep in our own bed last night. 34F here this morning and I can see one tiny snowbank(?) from the kitchen window. It might be 6" high by about 6' long. That is the only sign of winter left here. Even the grass is showing a few signs of greening up! A busy day ahead for us so I will wish you all a lovely weekend and a Happy Easter.

Good morning and hello to all! I was a bit surprised with what I heard earlier this morning is our food holiday today---National Turkey Neck Soup Day. Nothing really wrong with that except I guess I was expecting, because of the Easter holiday, something like Hot Cross Buns Day or Jellybean Day. Oh well, no soup here today. Thinking I might finish making a new to me recipe for Slow Cooker Enchiladas--I cooked the chicken is the slow cooker yesterday and all I need to do is put it together and bake this evening.
Tasty, welcome back home. Glad most of your winter weather and snow is now gone and you can hopefully enjoy a 2nd lovely spring season.
Chris, sounds like you've got a busy two days ahead---enjoy.
Ann, I haven't had sauerbraten is ages and you have me licking my lips right now.
Poor DD called last night saying she was so tired; she just didn't feel up to driving over this weekend but would wait to see how she felt this morning. Just heard from her and she said after a good night of sleep, she's feeling she can make the drive over. DD and Lilith should be here around 1 this afternoon. Gives me time to quickly shower and then do some last-minute things. Doubt I will be back here until sometime tomorrow after the girls' head back home, so let me take the time to wish each of you a very blessed and happy Easter. Lori

Good morning everyone. Ann, oh yes, the sorting is endless. You’ll still be doing it after you move too. That sautéed squash and onion sounds so good. Chris, you have a busy weekend planned. Dan will survive. Hope you get to have Easter dinner at Brian’s. You certainly don’t have any time to cook a dinner. Tasty, Welcome Home. It’ll take a day or so to get settled back in. Pretty soon you’ll be golfing again. And canning. Lori, glad to hear that DD feels rested enough to drive over. Enjoy your visit with her and Lilith. You asked the other day for my spaghetti pie recipe. I’ve never made it or eaten it. I made baked spaghetti. Simply, cooked spaghetti, pasta sauce ( I used canned, but sometimes do make my own), grated cheddar, put into a casserole and baked at 350* - 375* until heated thru. Very easy. DH wants waffles for supper tonight. Another easy meal. Sides to be decided. Easter will be very quiet here this year. Just the 2 of us. A first, ever. Times change. Will have baked ham, scalloped potatoes, mashed rutabaga. Have only bought rutabaga when I make stew, like the flavour, so decided to buy some more. Heard it can be made like mashed potatoes so I’ll give it a try. Bbl. Jan

Good morning
This morning I woke up at 5 again but this time I fell back to sleep until 6:30. PTL! I skipped my coffee, got dressed, and headed out the door. Mandy was quick even after Mary and her two got there. Now I'm enjoying my second cup of coffee and cookies on this bright sunny mild morning. No heavy jacket today, 60º when we headed out.
Just a small load of white clothes to wash today, nothing else planned. I'm still working on getting ready for the painter. Just a little left to do and some last minute stuff on Monday. It will really seem bare in here with no curtains on the windows. I do have nice wooden blinds so I won't be on display for the neighbors. And at night I'll carefully put a curtain back up on the patio door and take it down in the morning.
Super duper windy today so I won't be able to put my plants back outside until maybe tomorrow sometime. I could sure use the space they are sitting on for my clothes. So I hope I can place the plants back outside Monday morning for sure.
Chris enjoy the play. I'm sure Brian will do just fine on his own. How is your supply of cold cereal? LOL
Tasty, yes, nothing better than sleeping in your own bed. Welcome home.
Lori, turkey neck soup day to get rid of the Thanksgiving left overs and make room for the Easter left overs. hehehe Enjoy your time with DD.
Jan, Easter alone for me this year. Last year my neighbors had me over for dinner since it was my first holiday alone. This year I'm just having a part of a ham steak, sweet potatoes with brown sugar and butter, and a veggie salad. A tiny cherry pie for dessert.
A small grocery order coming this morning since I won't be able to get into my kitchen very easily on my usual Monday or Tuesday. Lunch will be a sandwich and the left overs for supper that I didn't eat yesterday. Easy peasy.

A quiet morning here, which is what I've been hoping for. Still in my pajamas, though not for long.
DH is out for a walk and I will make a quick run to Publix, to drop off a prescription and to pick up somethin easy for Easter dinner -- fried chicken or ham and salad. Most restaurants will be busy, if they're open, and I'd rather come home and relax. Other than that, no big plans.
Ann, I love sauteed squash so that sounds delicious.
Chris, love the name of that BBQ place! Hope y'all have a great time.
Tasty, good to hear that you are safely home. Nothing like sleeping in your own bed!
Lori, I know you & DH will have a wonderful time with your DD and Lilith. I'm shaking my head over that food holiday as well. Turkey Neck Soup Day? Not at my house! 😄
Jan, I like your nice and easy recipe! It's just the 2 of us for Easter as well, but that's not unusual for us. I have to be at church by 6:45 tomorrow morning so I might even get a nap in the afternoon -- that is unusual for me!
Mamma, I'm excited for you to get fresh paint on the walls! Our house had wallpaper, at least a border, in every room when we bought it, with flat white paint. We had a painter strip all the paper and repaint every room with nice soft colors -- it took 5 days but it was worth every penny. DH said when it was done, "Now it feels like our house."

Elza, that is what I'm hoping for....that this place will finally feel like home. I even splurged and am getting different sheers for the living room and kitchen. I don't think that all white sheers will work with whitish walls.

G'Day Mates!
Just kind of checking in to wish you all a blessed Easter.
DH and I will go to our Spirit Daughter's home for a late dinner. There will be seven of us at the table. She will be making a pot roast, potatoes and carrots. I am bringing a pineapple slaw, a Mandarin Orange/Jell-O salad, tomato bites, Deviled eggs, dilly cucumber bites and an eclair cake. If I have any energy left, I will make a Jell-O pretzel salad. Everybody wants their favorite!! I am almost finished with the preps and just need to throw the recipes together. I don't know what the other peeps are bringing, but we usually have enough food to feed the neighborhood!
Absolutely nothing has been going on here, which is good, right? Been seeing a chiropractor and he has done so much for me...I think I am 200% better.
Have a good Holiday.

It doesn't feel like Saturday today. I haven't had a clear idea of what's weekend and what's day of the week, though, since we retired. No special meal plans here either, mamma. Maybe a nice pot of chicken and noodles? Lovely noodles courtesy of Rieman's frozen. Tonite's supper will be a Sloppy Joe and cole slaw. You'll never guess what I found yesterday. So called "Easter Eggnog." You may remember my obsession with it over the Christmas holidays. First time I've seen it during Easter but you're right if you guessed I ordered some pronto. I couldn't wait so had a taste last nite. Pretty good but not as thick or egg noggy as the other. Still and all a nice surprise. Except for the price. 😳 Enjoy the weekend.

Happy Easter Eve! Tasty, glad you made a safe trip home. Nothing like being back in your own bed, I agree.
Mamma, happy to read you are spiffing up your home. I'm sure you'll love it.
Helen, mmm - chicken and noodles. Always a favorite around here.
Chris, hoping you are having a grand time.
Lori, I know you are enjoying your company! That does seem like an odd choice for a food holiday...never had turkey neck soup, I don't think. We will be having leftover tamales.
tm, lots of cooking going on for you. Glad you are feeling better.
Jan, your dinner sounds good tomorrow. Not sure I have ever eaten rutabaga. Tomorrow is a chili cook off at church so we'll eat there. Later on I will put my white chicken chili in the crock pot.
Waving to all. I worked today and was alone in receiving so was quite busy. As soon as I got off I came home and got in the car and made a grocery store run. Our pastor is having a cook out this evening, but we had responded with a maybe. We are not planning on going, so I sent them a note of regret. We just want a quiet and restful evening.
Goodnight!
