Good morning! It's 36° and mostly cloudy. It's going to be a rainy day. Busy day it was yesterday!! I went to the senior center as usual. On the way home, I returned to the furniture store to straighten out a blip in our bed order...all set. After prepping the sausages and peppers and baking the bread, I called the moving company I want to use (used it twice moving my mom's stuff to and from the assisted living place). Will now await a contract in the mail and make a down payment. Had to dictate a list of stuff I want moved. Of course I thought of three more things to add to the list!!! I baked the hot sausage and cut them into pieces. Made bowls with them and the peppers and onions. Shredded the rest of the Asiago cheese to use as a garnish. Yummy! Made just enough so there are just enough to make a frittata. The multi-grain bread was donated to the senior center from BJ's. Funny, one lady commented on how awful the bread was...she ate it unbaked...no wonder!!! Tonight we are having leftover mac & cheese, leftover ham from the freezer, and roasted carrots. How awful is the Maryland's Francis Scott Key bridge collapse! It sure is difficult to watch. Hope to be able to plant myself in my chair and return to chat later today after running some errands and getting our hairs cut!! Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Ann, I just saw the news from Baltimore a few minutes ago. So sad. I remember when living in Louisville, one of the bridges over the Ohio was hit by a barge, damaging a support column, and it was closed for months. That was an inconvenience. But this -- this is catastrophic. Praying for all involved --

Good morning all. The bridge collapse is horrendous. 41 heading to 50 at home while MB is starting the day at 48 and will reach the mid 60s. Both places will be a mix of sun and clouds. Yesterday we had a good walk on the beach in the morning and then golfed in the afternoon. The 2 guys we played with were not good company unfortunately - very self centered and no thought of where anyone else in the group might be. Oh, well, the only people we have played with who have been like that! Stopped for a salad supper on the way home. This morning will consist of some laundry and some packing and then one last golf game after lunch. Have a terrific Tuesday.

Good morning
This morning I woke up at 5 and could not fall back to sleep. But I tried until 6 and then just gave up. Mandy and I have been out and back home and I have a load of bath towels in the washer.
After combing the foothills for a comparable home for me, I have decided NOT to sell. There is NOTHING that meets my needs or is as nice as what I have. So for now I'm stuck with horrible neighbors in a park with no rules. But I have a nice home. In fact today I'm going to call and find someone to paint my bathroom and bedroom. The ugly dark color has got to go. Maybe some day I can afford to paint the other rooms and change the french door to a sliding door. Just some things that I wanted to change but Mark did not want changed.
My friend Jill had to put her 18 year old mini poodle down. Jill was already struggling with her depression and this sent her over the edge. So she is in a facility for depression again. I hope when her sister tells her I'm not moving that will cheer her up some.
Today I'm making the never fail dessert using blueberry pie filling and only making half the recipe this time. Then I'll need to do some rearranging and put my home back to what it was before I was getting it ready to sell. I like my stuff, even though I don't have much, to be around me.
Supper will be the pork steak I had planned on for yesterday. I'm thinking I'll go out for lunch or at least go and pick up some lunch. :) I need to get out!!!!!!!!
I read about the bridge and was horrified. Prayers sent for all. Just one more reason for me to hate bridges of all kinds. I've been this way since a child.

Hello and good morning to all! Today is National Spinach Day, National Nougat Day, and one that had me laughing at the suggestions from the morning anchor desk, Make Up Your Own Food Holiday Day! Some suggestions were normal simple foods, others were just plain outrageous, like they picked two things out there in space. I love food and I love eating, so I wouldn't even know right now what my food holiday choice would be. How about you?
Although we are in for another breezy day, it is sunny and bright, currently74* on the way up to 86* this afternoon. In all the time I have lived down here, I've never been bothered much by allergies, however, I've had a drippy nose, tickling throat, itchy eyes all month. Yesterday, I heard that our city ranks 13th nationwide for allergies. I was totally surprised, but I guess I shouldn't be as we have something blooming every month of the year down here. My DB and SIL had a rough time while they were down here in Florida; DD usually suffers March and April. A good rain to wash the pollen away would be most helpful and appreciated, but nothing forecasted.
Birdy, before I forget, the two-toned bird picture was appreciated. I heard something about this a few weeks ago, but with company visiting, I had forgot about it. Thanks!
Bet, I give you so much credit with what you have to deal with from your job. You are a good person, hard worker, and go above and beyond with planning and organizing before you even go into the stores. It breaks my heart the way your boss treats you; not very professional. Hopefully, you'll get things straightened out and will once more be able to return to work, but I support your striking for the time being.
mamma, sorry you did not find the park you went to check out yesterday to your liking. Don't give up, keep looking as I'm sure there is something special out there just waiting for you.
Ann, yes, the bridge collapse is difficult to watch this morning---so sad; I'm praying for all those involved. For those of you that might remember, it brings back memories for many of us here in Florida of when the Skyway Bridge connecting Tampa and St. Petersburg was hit by a ship back in May 1980.
Tasty, enjoy your last day in MB. Wishing you good weather and safe travels as you and DH head back home tomorrow.
To those of you not mentioned by name, may you have a beautiful day and know I am thinking of you.
Need to run several errands this afternoon. Dinner this evening will be a bowl of homemade vegetable soup and a hamburger. Waving, take care. Lori

Hello ! Guess I will be celebrating beef tips over rice today, since that is what we are having for lunch over at the Care center. It is one of my favorites, and theirs is much better than what I could make.
I got up at 6:30 and started in with cooking. Got it all done and to the church at 10. No real plans for the day, just staying here and do some cleaning.
It is currently 57 with a high of 68, and sunny.
Supper will be a pork roast, gravy, mashed potatoes and some pre made salad. I hate making salads, so the bag kind is perfect. The flavor is a new one to me, French Bistro.
Mamma, sorry the parks you checked are not satisfactory. It would be a hard choice to make. I'll pray that things improve in your current location.
Bet, I hope the company realizes how valuable you are to them. Those sound like difficult circumstances to work with.
I have not seen any tv news about the bridge collapse, but did read the "ticker banner" scrolling at the bottom of the screen. It reminds me of the bridge collapse in Minneapolis. The bridge was located a few miles from where we lived. I was there in the early 60's so the bridge had not been constructed yet.
Better go and get busy - have lots of kitchen clean up to get done! Have a very nice day!

Wow, that bridge collapse is horrendus. DD lived in Baltimore for several years and loved it there so this news hit home for her. Hard to think about something powerful enough to bring it right down. I've been doing laundry, especially those little loads I put off til there's enough to do without wasting water. Tedious and lots of folding. Supper tonite will be a mix of leftovers from last nite and maybe a scrambled egg and toast, too. I happened on the "Hunger Games" movies yesterday. Loved the books but only saw the first movie so am happy to finally finish the series. It's chilly but sunny with a pretty blue sky. Have a great day.

Good afternoon! So far no rain, but it's been raw and cloudy all day. We got one errand done after getting our haircuts. Went to Ocean State Job Lots and got new bedding for the new beds...mattress protectors, 4 sheet sets (2 beige & 2 navy with two pillow cases each, pillow protectors, and 4 standard down alternative pillows). We have twin quilts and duvet covers to use as bedspreads. Good to get another big thing done. Not sure if I already mentioned that instead of using a foundation, we are using those connected slats. Tasty - Will your travel route home be impacted by that bridge collapse? Safe trip home when you leave...do you drive through or stop once or twice? Lori - I couldn't make up a food holiday, either. I remember eating nougat candy as a child. We'd get it at the Italian section of the city...homemade! Love spinach especially with vinegar onions on top. Birdy - Loved that picture of the two toned cardinal. Yesterday I spied a bright red male sitting on a juniper bush at the top of our street. We've been seeing many turkey vultures circling overhead...a sign of spring. Bet - Have you decided on a gluten free dinner? Rice instead of noodles, perhaps? I served ratatouille with brown basmati rice one time. Rice crust ratatouille pie with a salad? I have a recipe for pork meatballs w/o any gluten...just ground pork and herbs...one pound makes 32 meatballs. healthyrecipesblogs.com/pork-meatballs/#recipeTammy - French Bistro salad mix sounds good. I buy those romaine hearts, 3 to a bag. When I get home I cut off the ends, wrap them each in a damp paper towel and wrap tightly in foil. They last weeks for me in the bin. If the outside leaves turn I just pull them off and use what is under them. Pork roast dinner is a favorite of ours. Time to get a move on. Waving to all! Enjoy your evening!

My prayers for all the families involved in the bridge collapsed. I remember the I-35 one that collapsed in 2007.
I got my walk in and then came home and did potatoes and eggs for salad. After Dh got up we made a run to Sam's Club. Came home had lunch and then Ifinished the potato salad. We will have that with sloppy joes for supper.
I have cards this afternoon.
After cards I am going to make some buns. While they are rising I will make a pumpkin poke spice cake for the potluck tomorrow night.
Tasty- enjoy your last afternoon and evening. Safe travels home tomorrow.
Elaine

Good morning. I was going to post quite a bit earlier today but then I had several people come in and lost what I dictated. By the time I got back to the computer it had not remembered what I had done.
So let's see if I can remember. First of all, that bridge collapse brought back memories of the bridge that fell into the Raging Waters under it during an April Easter morning on the New York State Thruway quite a few years ago about 40 miles from here. 10 cars went in. Friends of ours came up on the site to find police cars blocking the gap. They had missed the collapse by less than 5 minutes. They were so shaken up that after they got home taking back roads, they opened the bottle of wine and Polished It Off and then a second one.
In that case, it was the water scouring out around the pillars until nothing held them up. To this day, I have trouble going over that bridge and it happened years ago.
Bet, I don't think the company you work for appreciates how reliable you are. It's a shame that there are not more options for you.
Chris, are you going to be experiencing some bad runoff when the snow melts? After what happened this summer, I surely hope not.
I was surprised to get my wheelchair tuned up very quickly today. It's one that was issued to me a while ago and is well used. The brakes weren't working, which is a concern when sitting down. The wheels weren't aiming in the front to where I wanted to go very easily. So, the guys showed up at 7:30 while I was still in bed and took it to the shop. I walked to breakfast today with my Walker and an aide which worked out well. Much easier to get around now.
I feel like a godmother to this kitten of Troy's. I've already had three calls about an appropriate bed, litter, and that she wasn't eating. I discovered that they were feeding her dry kibble. I suggestion they try moist food which worked. I also pointed out that this was the first time she was away from her mother and the others and it would take her a little bit of time to get used to that. They have never had a pet before and have a little learning to do.
Have a great day everyone.
Birdy

Good evening. Finally getting here not that it's been a real busy day just goofing off.
Ann, thanks for the information on gluten-free I'm working on a rice recipe now I think it's just going to be something simple turkey rice cheese casserole plus sides not sure about those yet. You seem to have a real good handle on this moving thing good for you I keep thinking about it and deciding I'd rather snow in the winter.
Tasty, not sure if you'll be on tomorrow before you head out safe trip. Hope your last day of golfing will only have a brief break before your golfing back home again.
Mamma, sorry that the other home that you were looking at didn't work out. You never know something might all the sudden pop up then again maybe it's meant to be where you're at.
Lori, I like spinach no get is not one of my favorites but no spinach in the house so guess I'm not eating any of the Nationals today. I don't know what it is with allergies but it seems like I have had them all winter and in this area I don't know what could be causing him I'm beginning to believe I'm allergic to my house. Don't feel sorry for me in my job I just get aggravated sometimes with incompetency. For the job I have in the work that's involved most of the time it's pretty easy for a part-time job make your own hours and etc this time of year it's great because I pull down over $1,000 a month and that goes a long ways of course that includes gas and everything but even so I have to go off straight tomorrow and go back to work. I worked in a job for 30 years where if I made typos and errors like these idiots do with our service orders my boss could have been in huge trouble with large lawsuits and possible and loss of his business you had to be accountable for everything you did.
Tammy, you were up and going early this morning as usual with getting your food out to the church timely. I never made beef tips until you started talking about them and they were on my high priority list now. Because I'm a beefeater. Not sure if you checked out my recipe that I posted for beef tips but my Lions club thought they were fantastic. Thanks for the thoughts on the job it is what it is but I posted on Lori and if you read that you may understand that it's not all that bad it's just me some days when I get upset with their stupidity.
Helen, I don't mind doing laundry probably because the washer and dryer do most of it but boy do I hate folding clothes.
Elaine, seems that everyone is talking about potato salad lately and that is my favorite but I'm trying not to make it as I'm trying to clean out the freezer a little. So would everyone please stop talking about it thank you. Your pumpkin poke spice cake sounds interesting have fun playing cards today.
Birdy, I bet that tune up on the wheelchair was a lot faster and a lot cheaper than it would have been for your car. Glad they got it back to you andin fine working order. I loved your unusual picture of the Cardinal yesterday I only saw my male Cardinal one day this winter and she never did show up. I remember that collapse of the bridge on the Thruway. I got a real Chuck a lot of Troy and his kitten that poor man he's live such a sheltered knife in some ways.
As I said earlier I haven't accomplished a heck of a lot today. I never woke up until 8:00 that just messes my entire life up might as well stay in bed for the day. I did accomplish one good thing today our Lions club was given a reader for physically handicapped in one of them brought it up to my house today I got it cleaned up in a gallon that lives here in town has the macular degeneration and is rapidly losing her eyesight and and her and her husband came and picked it up today she was in tears when she left when I showed her how to use it and what she could see with it. Beyond that I've finished my beef stock it's ready to go in the refrigerator to cool overnight to see if it's cooked down enough to chill up I've got enough I won't have to make it for a couple of years maybe but it'll make good soup and gravies and whatever. I did spend quite a bit of time working on lines today back around 2001 I did a booklet for our Lions club which included a bit of a bio on the members of the past history in different things and one of the members decided that it would be nice to update it well of course I cannot find it on a disc anywhere so I've been trying to recreate it from copying to PDFs and then converting to words so we can work on it and make changes and updates to it of course I love that works so that got me out of doing things I should have been doing. I guess that's about it I've rambled on long enough I think I should consider getting my dinner fixed. Leftover chicken divan sort of doctored up to make it taste better also made cucumber and onion salad which I will use over lettuce and other vegetables to make a salad for dinner. Have one piece of crustless blueberry pie that will be dessert and bedtime. Have a great evening.
Bet
