Morning, morning, morning!!! It's back to winter on this second day of Spring! It's clear and 28°! Will be wearing my winter coat when I step out to go to the senior center this morning! Yesterday's Baldwin activities were enjoyable and informative. (Bill got out of his doctor's appointment without a long wait so we went to Aldi before going to Baldwin. There's an Aldi and Ocean State Job Lots just a few miles away.) Light lunch was a choice of sandwiches, chips, and soda or water. After that we went on a facilities tour in several buildings. We saw the other restaurant (Café), the pool & weight room, the library, and several of the different types/sizes of apartments. As we were waiting for the meeting to begin, we sat in front of the fireplace that sits in the middle of the room. Someone started playing the baby grand piano...lovely. I made dinner bowls with shredded chicken, leftover rice & cauliflower that I riced, and sautéed cabbage & tomatoes. Yum! Tonight we are having leftover meats, Cole slaw, and some sort of starch. On the way home from the senior center, I'm planning on stopping into Bob's furniture to order the twin beds and mattresses. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Good morning everyone Ann, the Baldwin looks like a great place to live. Your description of it sounds like you and DH are going to be kept busy. Hi Tasty, enjoy your day. Dark out there, 6:30, looks like we got rain overnight. Yay! Let things go over the last week, have large towel wash to do, as well as finishing vacuuming the bedrooms. Chicken burgers for supper tonight, sides to be decided. Jan Hi Lori. What kind of cookies are you making? Jan

Good morning. A kettle of chicken vegetable soup is simmering away. A good way to get rid of the chicken thighs without throwing them away. Some for lunch and the rest in the freezer.
Yesterday Debbie picked me up at 8 in the morning. Mandy did her duty in record time so I got to have a cup of coffee and a roll before. Getting in and out of her husbands truck was really hard since it is sooooo very high, even for someone with long legs like me. But with my bad arms etc, I was struggling big time by the end of our day. We all were, we all have disabilities due to our age.
After Debbie picked up me, we went to get Lynda and headed out to Elcentro. First stop was Home Goods, not my favorite place to shop by any means but those two love shopping there. I found a nice smaller cutting board and some nice bowls for salad or what ever. Then off to get some lunch. We had the salad buffet at Sizzlers. Lots of food choices and only $15 with tax and beverage, for seniors. We all over ate but it was all so good. Then to Aldi’s for my diet bread and Lynda got some blackberries for only 95¢. We then went to Costco where I didn’t spend a dime but each of them spent over $100. I didn’t need anything. But the time we left there all three of us were exhausted and not looking forward to yet another climb into the truck. Debbies’ husband traded in her car and his truck for this monster of a truck. Debbie was so mad but her husband is a butt.
I got home at 5 and was greeted by a very happy Mandy. She made no mess in the house, had eaten nothing nor drank any water. She was alone for 9 hours. I hurriedly took her out to go potty and she went right away. I got lots of kisses and major tail wags and butt wiggles. Remember, she is not a snuggler but lets me know she is happy. 😁 I have to say I really missed her too.
Today I have nothing planned other than push around the dust mop and my major massage. After that I won't feel like doing anything but rest. I know it will hurt and hurt for a bit after, I've had one done a long time ago back in MN. Something you don't forget too quickly. hehe But I hope that is solves my muscle issues it helped last time.
High today again of 85º. This weekend the wild wind and cooler temp returns. Ugh.

Good morning. I just went and got Shelly( our next door neighbors dog). This is the dog we will have if something happens.
My cat scan went fast this morning. I even made it back for coffee hour. Then I walked Coco.
Ann- it sounds like a great place to live. Is there activities there?
Mamma- we've eaten at Sizzlers a couple times. I also like Johny Corrinos there.
Lori- I would love a fresh baked cookie.
Tonight we are meeting my 2 sisters and their other half for supper. We are going right before 4 so we get the senior discount, besides I play cards at 6,lol. Delores will soon be heading back to Minnesota.
Time to take Shelly home. Elaine

Another quick hello! Jan, I baked Toffee Bits Chocolate Cookies, a recipe on the back of Heath English Toffee Bits package. I made them with the small scoop, so I got 45 cookies. Afterwards, I wanted to bake something else. I know Fred enjoys my zucchini quick breads, but I have no zucchini in the house and wasn't going to run over to the store. Instead, I baked a recipe tasty posted on here many years ago for Date Apple Quick Bread. I followed the recipe as is, except I bake it in my mini loaf pans, getting 6 small loaves instead of one larger loaf. Now I have cleaned up the kitchen for the 2nd time and will try to get some ironing done then get my bike ride in. Dinner this evening will be leftovers...I have 2 Salisbury Steak patties, 1/2 a meatloaf, mashed potatoes and a combo of broccoli, cauliflower, and a few other veggies. Whatever meat is left will go into the freezer for another meal down the road. Currently 78 with partly cloudy skies. As of right now, forecasters are calling for a 100% chance of rain tomorrow---we need it as we are very dry. Lori

Sorry to hear about snow still showing up in some places. Pays to keep those warm fuzzy blankets handy for awhile longer. I've got laundry to do, too, Jan. Let it go a little long this week. In between loads I'm doing crossword puzzles by way of a change. I've done them all my life but am just now getting back into them. Takes awhile to get back in to 'crossword puzzle words.' Supper tonite will be scalloped potatoes, lima beans, and pickled beets. My own little veggie plate. Sweet dreams.

That is a lot of snow, Bet. Wish I could send you our sunshine. It won't last long here as we're expecting rain all day tomorrow and Saturday morning.
Ann, how exciting! Nice that you will have Aldi and Job Lots nearby for easy shopping.
Jan, I need to get busy here in a minute. I want to dust and I also have towels in the wash.
Mamma, that was a very busy day. It is hard to climb in those big trucks. He should at least buy a stepstool for his wife & friends to use!
Elaine, I'm with you on wanting a fresh baked cookie. Lori, yours always sound good.
Chris, glad you have a quiet day today and got to sleep in.
Helen, I'm a big crossword fan. I have so enjoyed the NY Times puzzle app that has new puzzles every day. It's a $40 yearly subscription but IMO it's worth it.
Last night we went to Mama Penn's for meat & 3 -- I had meat & 2, with grilled chicken tenders, mac & cheese, and collard greens. For tonight I've just mixed up a Hamburger Casserole to pop in the oven later before DH gets home.

Good evening. Just passing through. I slept in this morning not intentionally. I was going to work but looked out it was 14°. 2" of snow on the ground, horrible winds and no sun. Work was immediately vetoed. I spent time working on my recipe program, time in the kitchen (had potatoes to use so made hash brown potatoes for the freezer), cleaned it up,did a menu and went shopping in the basement, took things to the garage and to the basement and have the house picked up. Still have many miles to travel before I go to bed. I will not shut an eye until this house is completely vacuumed and moped. Dinner is left over vegetable beef soup and pulled pork along with Tiramisu.
Enjoy your evening.

We left here about 8am for our golf game. After that ran a few errands in a town a few miles away and you the time we got back here it was supper time. Not an exciting day but a pleasant one. Spent a while just sitting down by the water, watching the world go by and sipping on coffee while soaking up some sun 🌞.
