Good morning! It's 40° and clear. It's going to be a more seasonable week weatherwise. I noticed the other day that my chives were poking up...so early! The privit hedge has a tinge of green, too. Soup was delicious last night. Tonight we are having wursts, baked beans, and slaw. Other than doing walkaerobics and Curtis, I again have no big plans. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Good morning. It is 28°here this morning and going to 39° windy and overcast. Not a very nice day compared to what we have been having. Yesterdays bunny sale went OK. I haven't tallied up the proceeds yet. Job one this morning. The shift I worked in the afternoon the weather wasn't great. I was cold from the wind plus we got a quick shower and it was almost coming down sideways. I think the corned beef I had last night was the best I have ever brined. I was worried it didn't have enough time to brine as I didn't get it started to late but think I will wait and do it the same next time.
Today I need to prepare for the meeting tonight. First thing after counting money and doing my recording of things I will make 2 9X13" pans of Tiramisu. It is made with a sponge cake like layer rather than the Lady Fingers. Then I have all sorts of certificates to prepare as we have induction of 2 members tonight plus honoring our Peace Poster Winners so need to do certificates for them. Also have to prepare the sheets for the readers for the induction ceremony so will be busy.
Elza, nice to you got to talk with you DS last night. Enjoy your pork tenderloin. How do you prepare them? I like to sous vide them. They are so moist and they are cooked in the seasoning.
Elaine enjoy your Corned Beef Dinner today.
Helen, I love soup. I have it almost 1 dinner every week.
Lori, how nice you are having time with family. Enjoy your DB and DSIL today.
Tammy, your meals for tomorrow sound great.
Have a great day.

Good morning friends. I slept in until 6:45! Wow! LOL Must have needed it.
Ann- We are to get to low 40's today and then drop down into the freezer again for a couple days.
Bet- Sounds like a lot of computer time for you today. Hope you get it all done and the Tiramisu too!! Ohhh a little rhyme there! See how I did that!
I go in this morning for Industrial Trades. We are wiring the house that the Carpentry class is building. It was sold to the local Housing Authority as an ADA house. It is interesting watching the students earn from a man who is 76 and thinking of retiring! LOL They are so respectful of him.

Good morning -- have to be in early for an 8:15 meeting so of course I slept late too Chris! Need to be hustling here as soon as I finish the coffee.
Bet, I cook pork tenderloins uncovered in a greased baking pan at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. I let it rest a few minutes before slicing but it always comes out nice and tender.
Ann, we are already seeing blooms around here! The Bradford pear trees are in full bloom (and they smell so nasty!) and I'm also seeing daffodils, forsythia, and redbuds blooming. And then we have a freeze warning for tonight -- Mother Nature saying, "not so fast!" LOL

Good morning to all! Today is National Lacy Oatmeal Day and National Sloppy Joe Day. It is also Global Recycling Day.
I'm going to try to go quickly this morning to do my bike ride, then shower. Not sure when to expect my DB, but hopefully I'll have time to do what I need to before he arrives. Before DH left for work this morning, we decided it's dinner out tonight. Where we eat this evening, we'll leave it up to DB and SIL, but I'm thinking right now it will be a seafood place located on the Gulf just to the south of us.
Oh, just remembered I need to call the heart specialist office this morning. I will be out of mediation before I have my yearly appointment next week. Will need them to call in a new prescription so I can pick that up tomorrow.
Better get moving. Take care, waving. Lori

Chris, sounds like a nice easy morning at work.
Elza, I also do my tenderloin the you do but have found a couple of recipes that are marinated. One is Teriyaki and the other is Garlic Lemon.
Lori, hope you get time for everything this morning.

Good morning friends. At home unfortunately it is a cool day, in the 30s with a wet, sleety, rainy, snowy mix - not too pleasant. In MB we are lucky and are starting the day in the mid 50s and up to the mid 60s later. Yesterday's golf was lovely. The course has so many azaleas, it's just beautiful. Hubby had a good game and altho I did not score well, I felt I was playing better. We also had a nice couple from Wisconsin to play with. Today we are headed out to Brookgreen Gardens which is almost within walking distance, except for the fact it's right on the main road and no way would I walk it. It a place we visited last year and is so pretty, we wanted to wait until the flowers were good. The tickets allow unlimited access for 7 days, so if we want to be able to use them again this is almost as late as we can leave it - next week we start the trek home. Last night we went for supper at the restaurant connected to the resort. The food was fine, altho for non-fish eating hubby, it was very limited choice. It was a large room but very stark, no atmosphere and overall, disappointing. We've tried it but won't be going back. Ann, your dedication to exercise is amazing and I need to get back to it. My golf game is showing the fact that I'm not doing much these days. Will you be able to keep it up after your move? Lots on your agenda today Bet. Hope the bunny sales were good! Nice to see that the kids respect their teacher, Chris. Kids get a bad rap that most of them don't deserve. An early start, Elza. The flowers around are just gorgeous at the moment. By the time we get home, the daffodils will be thinking a out blooming, so I'll get to see them twice 😊. Hope you get to do all you want Lori before your brother arrives. Enjoy this extra visit with him. Washing machine is calling - waving to you all 👋. Have a great day.

Good morning. I got started on the late side since Mondays the aides are often behind because they don't have enough of them.
The doctor showed up to check me out and ask how I was feeling after my jaw procedure. He's going to arrange for the speech therapist to see me today for a swallowing evaluation. My teeth still do not come close enough to touch each other so my chewing is going to be iffy. I'll be asking about eating a soft diet that isn't pureed but I'm not sure what she will say. It is what it is. We did get corned beef and cabbage yesterday. Unfortunately they felt it necessary to puree my Irish soda bread. Not very successful! LOL!
Tasty, I'm sorry You will have to return to the cold again but maybe by then it won't be as bad. We are getting Lake Effect snow tonight into tomorrow. But we are at the edge of the worst of it. But with that kind of snow you never know where it will show up. Fingers crossed that it's just a dusting.
I had some geese fly by the window this morning just after Sunrise. I haven't seen them since Frank is definitely coming but taking its own sweet time. (I don't know who Frank is but apparently voice dictation thinks I do! LOL!)
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning one and all. Seeing the temps y'all have I shouldn't call 51º chilly or cold, but to me it is, but least there is no wind. Our high today 80 and warmer each day of this week.
Yesterday afternoon I had a nice surprise. Two friends from church called and asked if I wanted to make a road trip on Wednesday. Heck yes, I do. They like to go to Home Goods in Elcentro, I don't care for that store, but it's nice to look around and be with friends. We will eat out and also go to Calexico so I can go to Aldis. Yes, I am soooo excited to be with Lynda and Debbie and get out and do something fun for a change. More good news, Lynda offered to go to Mexico with me so I can get my dental work done there. That will save me thousands by not having work done in the US. I did check into dental ins. but it doesn't pay much at all.
One load of laundry today, plugged in the cart to charge, and later I'll pick up some AW root beer. It's on sale of course. One 12 pack lasts me a very long time. I drink mostly water. Two cups of half caff coffee in the morning, water the rest of the day, and once in a great while a can of Zero sugar pop in the evening.
FYI: did you know that honey contains tryptophan? Which is a sleep natural sleep aid. Sugar will keep you awake but honey will help you sleep.
Last night I took out the last of the chicken thighs for supper tonight, or maybe lunch. It all depends on my mood of course.

Tasty, the gardens you are going to must be beautiful this time of year. Sure beats what the weather is like at home. Too bad the place you had dinner last night was disappointing. Sometimes it is best to stick with tried and true results but then again that isn't any fun.
Mamma, how nice that you will be getting out with friends on Wednesday. A trip to Mexico for dental will certainly save you a lot from what I have heard.
Elaine, dog walking is sure keeping you on a tight schedule.
Birdy, Frank how funny. I love what sometimes comes up with dictation and the more you try to correct it sometimes it gets even funnier. Hope the swallow test goes well today and you can get at least some soft food.
The cake portion of the Tiramisu are almost cool so I can get the cheese mixture on them and in the refrigerator to cool. They need 4 hours so am cutting it close.

Hi again. I am not a happy person. This was the 3rd time I had to track Cici down. John is the owner of the dog and he lives with mom and step dad( he moved here to take care of them). Well, he now has a girlfriend here in the park. We'll, yesterday afternoon when I went to his girlfriends after Cici not at home. I specifically asked if Cici would be here or at home. I am done now. He is feeling better from his covid but now his girlfriend has it again. Plus, he gave it to his mom.
Then I went up to clubhouse and helped do carrots and potatoes for tonight's supper.
Now, it's soon time for shuffleboard at 10.
Birdy- I wish you all the best on the swallow test.
Mamma- you go to Calexico to Aldis. El Cento has one. It's in the same parking lot as Cosco. I want to go to ElCento but only because I want to eat at Johny Corrinos, lol.
Lori- enjoy your company today.
Bet- looks like you have another meal under control.
Tasty- sorry the meal last night was disappointing. Can't believe it's already time for you to head home. Time sure goes fast.
Elaine

Hi ! Just popping in to say hello. I did get to sleep in then had to prepare 4 chicken/wild rice casseroles. Just got back home from delivering tomorrow's lunch.
Good to hear from you BIrdy. Hope the evaluation goes well.
Mamma, how nice to take a short day trip. Have fun!
Lori, enjoy getting to spend some time with DB again.
I saved some of the casserole so just have to heat it up for supper. Not sure of sides, as usual.
Have lots to do around here including vacuuming and laundry so better get to it. Waving to all!!

I had a pleasant surprise this morning. I tried that aluminum foil trick on a bunch of bananas and it really worked well keeping them from going too brown quickly. I haven't had them for awhile but that banana ice cream put me in the mood. Anyway, I like bananas just past green and these have been nice and fresh long enough to enjoy. Bet and Tammy both, you've been working like dynamos again. Actually, you always do! Birdy, what a hoot. Too funny how your dictation system's brain gets scrambled. I put the roast in the oven earlier this morning and decided to do a taste test once it got tender. Well, that ended up being lunch. Will have more for supper. Enjoy your day.
