Top o' the mornin' to yer!!! It's 46° and cloudy. Not sure how much rain will fall, but it should be a soft rain, and it shouldn't affect the famous "Southie" parade in Boston. Shrimp dinner was delicious. Tonight we are having soup made from the leftover goulash that Bill made. Have a great morning! Waving!

Good morning. Happy St. Patty's Day. It was 36°here this morning and a bit of a drizzle. That is suppose to end around 10 and will be partly cloudy and mid 40's. Bunny sales went OK yesterday. Not as good as last year on the first day but we have 3 more days of selling and can also sell the day before Easter if necessary. When I got home I had been given a couple of bags of things that a member had gotten from a restaurant that was closing that she thought we could use in the Chuck Wagon. It turned out to be mostly plastic junk. Not even anything we could use on meeting night when we serve dinner. There were a number of boxes of gloves but most of them turned out to be latex so not sure if anyone is allergic to them or not so may not be able to use them either. There were some small containers like a restaurant would serve a side of salad dressing in and some a little bigger that when I make frozen yogurt or ice cream I could us as individual serving for the freezer. Her intentions were good but has no concept of cooking. I went back to town at 3 and did the one work job I had there and picked up the bunnies and money at 4 and came home. Of course had to empty the car and take inventory and count the money and get everything ready to do all over again this morning.
Today won't be much better except I don't have to be in town until 11:30 to set up then back at 1:30 to work a shift until 3:30. Last shift is a neighbor so they will return everything to my house when they are done. I have my corned beef on cooking already this morning and it smells so good. It will be cooked in stages between my running to town. Will add the vegetables just before dinner time. The beef looked good when I took it out of the brine. Before I load my car this morning I do need to clean the kitchen up. Need to empty the dishwasher and reload it. When I get home this morning I will load my car with recyclable. I have lots of cardboard to go and lots of big plastic bottles. Will also drop the garbage off at DGD's before I work my shift.
It seems funny that tomorrow is the 3rd. Monday of the month and I am not starting to prepare dinner for tomorrow night. All I need to do is make a dip for a vegetable platter and 2 pans of Tiramisu tomorrow.
Ann, sounds like you plan to just go with the flow today. Enjoy it. How was shopping Friday? I checked the ads this morning and the only thing on sale that I need are potatoes and butter. I will stock up on butter for the freezer. My brand doesn't come on sale too often and I seem to use a lot.
Tasty, sorry you got rained on Friday. Good that you were able to find a rain jacket just in case.
Lori, hope you are having a great time with DD and Lilith. Am am sure she was happy with your special cupcakes.
Helen, that is some scary weather you have been having in your area. Stay safe. How was the vegetable soup? I thing some of the best soups are made from what every you happen to have available. Of course it will be good but you can never make it again and have it taste the same.
Elaine, can't believe you had a lazy day yesterday. I didn't even see a mention of games yesterday or last night. It's Friday night cocktail night?
Birdy, hope you are improving everyday and can soon have that fried chicken.
Well the kitchen awaits me.
Have a great day.
Bet
Chris, hope you are getting some much needed rest after you last week marathon of teaching.
Mamma, sorry to read about your fish passing. Will you get another one?
Tammy, what are you cooking for Tuesday?
Elza, your Indian lunch sounds interesting. I love cooking international but I haven't do much Indian. I have so recipes and even the ingredients to try them but just not sure about them.

Good morning everyone. I hope it's better where you are than here. It was raining pretty steadily with a little tiny bit of white showing. And this is supposed to be the warmest day of the week! I'd say top of the morning to you if your morning has a top better than ours.
I woke up yesterday to a couple Canada geese landing outside my window. Despite the nasty weather, spring is beginning to edge its way our way. The grass is getting green and some of the smaller migrant birds are beginning to show up in the state. And the turkey vultures are starting to arrive. I know the sounds weird but that always is a good indicator this spring is coming.
Hope all of you are enjoying your St Patrick's Day meals. Heaven knows what will show up here. I was told that the doctor has ordered the speech therapist to sit with me on Monday and watch me eat for a swallowing assessment. I found out that my surgeon had recommended a regular diet but they want to see for themselves. I don't blame them since they are legally responsible for me. I doubt very much I will be chewing anything challenging since my teeth don't meet totally but they are aligned which is a big difference from a week ago. I would imagine that I'm going to have to wait for the swelling to go down a bit.
Hope you all have a great day.
Birdy

Good morning
Wild wind and heavy rain for about a couple hours last evening. It stopped shortly before Mandy and I headed out the door for her duty. God is good. :)
Chilly and damp this morning but at least there is no wind as of now. In Yuma you never know what the wind will be like, there is almost always some kind of wind/breeze.
A quick trip to the $tree this morning and may make a stop at Fry's for the butter that is one sale. I hope to get 5 pounds today and 5 more tomorrow or Tuesday. I refuse to use margarine for anything and hate paying regular price for butter. Church on line later.
Last night I had a horrible headache that would not go away. So I just went to bed early. I woke up feeling much better but am not going to do much. I'll just take it a bit easier today.
Bet, I would like to get another fish but for now I'm happy to have that extra one foot of space. :)
Birdy, it's great to see you here this morning. A regular meal for you, how wonderful. I hope that it goes well. No Irish meal of any kind here. I'm not Irish and I don't like corn beef at all. Green beer isn't any better than regular beer to me. LOL But like you, I could really go for some crispy fried chicken, like KFC!!!
Ann, I'm thinking of soup for lunch here too.

Good morning all. Another bright and sunny day has dawned - mid-morning it is 66 and will be in the low to mid 70s later on. At home it is 41 and looks like a little bit of everything there today, sun and clouds, a few raindrops and maybe some snowflakes later but with a high in the 40s I doubt it will amount to much. Glad to see they are taking good care of you Birdy. I'm sure you're anxious to be able to eat regular food but I would want to be cautious too! Another golf game this afternoon for us and then who knows what for supper. Don't have a lot here but we could certainly manage some pasta Bolognese. Or cheese on toast! We won't starve.
Have a great day!

Birdy, nice to see you here this morning. Is you speech better since your procedure? Hope you get a regular diet soon. At least you can do a little birding out your window. Can't you bribe someone to put a feeder out side your window and fill is daily for you?
Mamma, my brand of butter is on sale this week also and I will be buying 5 pounds for the freezer. That and 5 pounds of potatoes that are on sale is my shopping list for the week. I might break down and buy some strawberries that are on sale also as I have a couple of new recipes that I can't use my frozen ones for that I want to try.
I have the car loaded and ready to go to town as soon as I post this to set up. I also made 2 individual banana cream pies. I got bananas on the reduced rack this week. 6 of them cost me $.76 and there were 6 nice bananas. It will be another week before they will be ripe enough to make Banana Bread.

Good morning. I am skipping church this morning will watch on line. The dog park took longer then I thought, so unless I went to a later service. I still haven't walked Coco yet. I stopped here to get a cup of coffee as chilly and damp out there and here I sit.lol. I have 2 banana muffins left for our breakfast. I forgot to buy bananas and they are on sale.
Bet- I hope the bunny sales go better today. I played no games yesterday.lol. As I said I was lazy.
Birdy- I take it that the Dr. Thinks your surgery went great since you have a non restricted diet. I bet even soft foods taste good since they aren't pureed.
Tasty- enjoy your game.
Mamma- I need to look at Frys ad, I didn't see nothing on sale, but I can always use butter.
I know I'm having corn beef and cabbage tomorrow at the clubhouse since one of the ladies didn't want the meal today. I can't wait.

It's mid-afternoon sunny and cool. I'm keeping myself amused with computer and movies. Amazing how many movies I missed while Hubby was sick. Hadn't even heard of many of them. Lots of time now. Birdy, I'm so happy it looks like you're out and on the other side of recovery now. And even watching birdies out your window! Luckily, I'm looking at a slow and peaceful week. Oh dear, unless I get taxes back to review and sign. All that rigamarole before they even start reviewing them. I sound very Boomer with that pronouncement. Ah, for the time when Boomer was a good word! I'll just have another bowl of soup for supper. Got a roast out of the freezer but it had hardly defrosted at all by morning. I keep forgetting this fridge is so much colder than previous ones. I'm going to roam awhile with the computer and see where that takes me. Sweet dreams.

Good afternoon and hello to all! Happy St. Patrick's Day. Food holidays are: National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day and National Corn Dog Day.
As always, it was wonderful to spend time with DD and DGD. They left around 12:30 to meet a GF from high school but surprised us when they stopped back in at 2 with pictures taken with the Easter Bunny at the Mall---so cute! Since then, I've been picking up and straightening up, because my DB and DSIL called and wanted to know if they could return tomorrow, spend the night, before they leave on Tuesday for home. Wasn't expecting that, but having another opportunity to spend time with family is always a welcomed and wonderful gift.
I must admit, I'm a bit tired this afternoon. I would have loved to have a Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner today but will have to save that for another time. This evening we'll just do easy---pizza. Need to somehow, someway force myself to get in a bike ride (currently 82* and lots of sunshine so not a good excuse) before I crash this evening. Lori

Hello, Sounds like a good weekend for all. I just got home from the store. Soon I will be baking the bundt cakes, and may go ahead and cook all the chicken needed for the wild rice/chicken casseroles for Tuesday. I'll take coleslaw for them to serve with it. I am thinking I will just keep out 2 servings for our supper tomorrow night. On Tuesday I am having Ruth, Jack & Sue, and possibly their son Josh for dinner. We'll be eating smoked brisket, scalloped potatoes, broccoli delight, hot mushroom salad, touch of grace biscuits, and chocolate pie. Enjoy the corned beef, if you have it. That is something I never see down here! Need to go and get groceries put away. Waving!!!

Happy St Patricks Day to everyone!
We've had a good day. Mexican for lunch and then I made a quick Aldi run afterwards. Just a few things on my list so it didn't take long. I got the taxes filed while DH napped and then we had a nice video chat with DS2. It's great to be able to see him but will be even better to have him here in person for a short visit in June.
I had some of my tea brack for a quick breakfast this morning. My nephew loves it, after having it here last year, and makes it himself. He likes to tweak and adds spices to make it taste like gingerbread -- and wraps individual slices to take with him when he's traveling for work (he's a flight attendant). I tried that this time, although I only used half the amount he does, to see if I liked it better. It's not bad, but I think I'll stick with the original recipe.
Tomorrow night's dinner will be the pork tenderloin that I'd planned for last week, so that should be quick and easy.
Birdy, so great to hear that real food is in your future! We're all excited for you!
