Morning! It's 42° and cloudy. It's supposed to clear up to give us a sunny day. Pizza hit the supper spot last night. Tonight I'm making scampi. My SIL made me some mushroom duxelles with sun-dried tomatoes that I am going to mix into some brown rice. Will steam some brussies on the side. No other plans at this point. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Good morning friends. Yesterday went well at school. So far I have had some really good students.
Ann- I had Mac and Cheese yesterday for supper and Dan had leftovers from the meal out. I need to check out the pastizzi at Aldi's next time I am in Rutland. I looked them up and they look good. Those Duxelles sound very good too.
Birdy- Nice to see a post from you and that all went well and now just wait for the swelling to go down.

A quick hello to all. DD called at 7 this morning to say they were already halfway through Alligator Ally, so I am expecting them very shortly. DD had been up since 1:30 (couldn't sleep) and Lilith got up at 5, so DD packed and decide to get going. We will have meatloaf, mashed potatoes or some other type of potato, and a salad for dinner. Have a good day! Waving! Lori

Lori, I hope by now you are having a wonderful time with your family.
Ann, I like the sound of mushrooms with sun-dried tomatoes.
Chris, good to hear that you've enjoyed this week.
Yesterday was very busy at work, right up to 5:00 -- usually I take a short break mid-afternoon, so I can get a bite to eat and also get some overtime off. But yesterday, there was literally not a minute to do that. DH had a work event to attend that included dinner, so I just had crackers and cheese and fruit in front of the TV and that was perfect!
DH & I are meeting our Indian friend at a new-to-us Indian restaurant in Greenville for lunch so I am keeping breakfast very light -- just an apple with my coffee, so I'm not taking my vitamins on an empty stomach. I'm looking forward to good food and good conversation. After lunch, we may go see a movie, and I think I'll see if we can stop at Aldi on our way home.
Our new HVAC is in and working -- it's so quiet! At least that's one big thing checked off the list of "things to do before we retire."

Good morning one and all.
Another chilly start to the day some clouds but coming home from the PA I was blinded by the sun. Wow it was really bright coming over the mountains this morning. Yesterday was dreary and windy most of the day.
This morning I have to sweep or blow the sand off of the porch. The wind the last couple days really made the tile floor slippery. I had better get it off before I slip and fall. That would not be good at all. I'll strip the bed and get the sheets in the wash this morning too. Then I think I'll start on a batch of cookies for the freezer.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

This morning when I turned on his light I found my Betta, Happy, was dead. He had been sick for quite awhile but I’m still sad. He was so much fun to watch. I’ve changed and washed the sheets, tore down Happy’s tank and put it away, swept off the porch and vehicles and my arms are sayin NO MORE today. So I’m done for the day. Sweeping is hard on my arms and I should have used the leaf blower but I was too lazy.
Fry’s has butter on sale this week so I’m going there on Monday and stock up. I’m down to only one pound and I hate paying regular price. Soon I’ll be watching for coffee, half caff, to go on sale, I’m down to two containers of coffee. I usually stock up on coffee before the snowbirds get here. Most of us old folks down here drink half caff so it goes fast. ☕️
Chicken pot pie for lunch today, still thinking on what to make for supper.

Hello All. We've sure had some scary weather the last couple of days. One tornado and apparently another hail storm all around us. MY phone went off with that loud alarm that would scare you even if it was just for fun! Luckily, I only had thunder and lightning. I headed for my walk-in closet with pillows and water. Obviously, phone also. Wish that was the last of it but apparently we are just getting into tornado season. At 61 degrees and 100% rain, it's a good day for soup simmering on the stove. I'll make do with a hodge podge of veggies for vegetable soup. Very yummy Lemon Cookie Ice Cream for dessert. Hope it's been a good week for all. Hugs

**Afternoon! It's another sunny and warm afternoon, but clouds are moving in now. Got a few things done today before I just decided to read my ebook! Dinner is all prepped and ready to cook. I thought I had some of that mushroom sundried tomatoes in the freezer, but, alas, it was my verde pasta sauce. Plan B is to mix the rice with chopped raw scallions and microwave. In the scampi sauce, I decided to try some Old Bay seasoning along with the usual ingredients. I was surfing my FB groups and found a potato recipe that I will try next week when we have pork chops. I like the idea that the potatoes are 'dry', not having to blot them dry. littlespicejar.com/easy-skillet-breakfast-potatoes/Helen - Scary times for you. Tornados scare me mainly because we don't have to deal with them very often. Lori - Have a wonderful visit with DD and DGD! Elza - What did you have for lunch? I've found some microwavable Indian rices at Job Lots that we really like especially the turmeric rice. Mamma - Sorry about Happy. Time to move! Waving to all!

Ann, let's see if I can remember what I ate: *kachumber salad (cucumbers, onions, tomato) *basmati rice *tandoori chicken *chicken makhni (cubed chicken meat in a tomato & butter sauce) *vegetable curry *aloo baingan (eggplant and potato cooked together) *mixed vegetable pakoras (a fritter of mixed veg lightly breaded & fried) *naan
And kheer (rice pudding) for dessert. This was a little more upscale place than the previous one we'd been to and for me & DH, at least, better food. There was not as much variety on the buffet but everything was delicious.
Mamma, I'm sorry to hear about your fish. I know you will miss him. You have gotten a lot done today, though.
Helen, the tornados are one thing I certainly don't miss from Kentucky, although I was grateful for the sirens so that you always knew when there was a warning. They are hit or miss in SC -- mostly miss. Very few places here have them.
Well, time to get cracking on the taxes. I'm going to mix up a tea brack later -- kind of for St Patrick's Day but mostly just because I like it!

Oops! I read this morning but forgot to post. Yesterday's weather left a little to be desired as we had a heavy downpour part way through our game. I was ready to quit when all of a sudden it stopped. Most people had already left the course and hubby suggested playing on. It worked out OK - didn’t take too long to finish. I usually have a rain jacket in my bag but I must have taken it out last summer and hubby had left his at 'home' because the weather was supposed to be warm and sunny!! The weather we had yesterday was what had been in the forecast for today but today has been gorgeous - warm and sunny. After yesterday I decided to look for a rain jacket, if nothing else, it will be insurance against it raining on me again (a girl can hope).
Our plan for today had been some shopping after having breakfast out so that's what we did. And, yes, I found a decent jacket at a good price plus a couple of other things 😃 . Picked up some salads for supper so that will be easy - read, no work! Hope you manage some downtime over the weekend Chris. You've been kept busy at the college. Have a wonderful time with DD and Lilith. Hope she enjoys the cupcakes. The good side of a busy day at work Elza is that it goes by real fast. Cheese and crackers makes for a good supper after a busy day 👍 . Nice to get some of those big expenses out of the way before you retire. Sorry to read about Happy, Mamma. I always like to stock up on things we use when they are on sale. That's one reason I have found groceries expensive while we have been down here - we've been buying what we want when we need it - not the way to shop! Stay safe Helen. I've never experienced a tornado and have no desire to be anywhere near one. Enjoy your veggie soup and ice cream. (((Birdy))), I hope you are not so sore today. Waving to all 👋.
That potato recipe looks good Ann. He knows he shouldn't but hubby would eat potatoes every day given the chance. Let us all know how they turn out. I would never hae thought of steaming potatoes.

Hi. Been a lazy day around here. I have a roast and stuff going in slow cooker, did laundry and read a book sitting outside in the sun.
Last night's meal was great. Just wish it wasn't so expensive so we could do more often.
Birdy it's great news from you.
Lori- have fun.
Mamma- sorry to hear about happy.
Elaine
