Birdy, you are still in my prayers for a better recovery. You positive attitude is an inspiration to many. I also use dictation. Sometimes the words that google wants to use amaze and frustrate me. But it is what it is. The convenience is so worth a little frustration. :)

Good afternoon, friends! Today is National Pack Your Lunch Day, National Blueberry Popover Day and International Lime Day.
I slept in this morning, and extra 2 1/2 hours that I normally do on DH's workdays. I felt good when I woke up, but that didn't last too long... I can't stop yawning! This time changing back and forth is getting old. I personally do not care which way we go, standard or saving, but down here it is a very divided subject. I can see where those that work all day like the extra daylight to get out into the evenings, but those that work outside in the heat/sun all day say we don't need any extra sunshine to keep our temperatures high that late in the evening. Doctors say that it will take our bodies a good week to adjust to the change.
Sorry to read that some of you are experiencing colder temperatures and even snow. It is a humid 78* this afternoon and we are in the thick of spring break in Florida. Before dinner last night, I suggested to DH that we go out for a drive since it was so beautiful. Well, it was not my suggestion to head north into the traffic downtown, but DH's, and did we ever get into some major traffic coming in off one of the islands to the mainland. BTW, if anyone wants to see the nice weather we are having today, just turn on your TV to the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg---just up the road about 45 miles---brilliant sunshine!
Just hung the phone up after speaking to DB. He and DSIL are leaving tomorrow morning for Florida. Not sure why they decided to drive, they normally fly everywhere. Both of them sounded very unorganized and have already changed the day they'll arrived from Tuesday to Wednesday. Depending on when they arrive on Wednesday, they'll only be here for maybe 24 hours or less before they join friends on one of the islands. A short and sweet visit, but better than nothing. I was debating what to cook when DH said not to worry about it, we'll just eat out. Sounds good to me, I can deal with that.
Birdy, nice to see a post from you once again. Sending you gentle hugs my friend.
Bet, sorry to really that you lost power last night, but happy it returned quicker than they predicted.
mamma, although you didn't sell as much as you'd have liked, glad you sold something yesterday. As for washing out the inside of my washer, yes, I do. I probably should do it more often than I do (maybe every 3-4 months), but it does really cut the soap and grease build-up.
Need to go and get the ironing done. Hope to get back here later. Lori

Good morning. Its a beautiful day. We are at 72° heading to 81°. DH is out spraying weeds and I am doing laundry.
Wow, some of you are getting terrible weather, just stay safe. I remember those days.
Dh just came in. I need to figure out something for lunch. Neither of us had breakfast. I couldn't think of anything to eat before church.

Thanks for opinions on avocado. I also got a few ideas on Pinerest, mostly with crostini. We'll see. How awful many got snow and lots of it. Anybody misplace their phone often enough to be annoying? Good grief! I seem to have more scavenger hunts for mine nowadays. Mamma, just have to say I enjoy your witty way with words. Makes me smile. I'm attempting a Crustless Spinach Quiche (with asparagus instead of spinach). Sliced marinated beets alongside. Off to finish my movie. Hugs to all.

Good afternoon. After lunch I took Mandy for a stroll, which she always enjoys. Then I started on washing the golf cart, car and carport. Halfway through this, a black mysterious car backs up towards my carport. I ask him if I could help him, being extremely cautious, since Mandy was in the house. He proceeded to tell me that he could help me. My thinks "Oh dear"!!!!! Next he tells me he has my WM grocery order. LOL Washing off months of dirt and grime is so much fun that I had forgotten all about my order coming at 1 today. He and I got a big laugh out of my defensive stance. All I had for protection was the hose. LOL I guess I could have soaked him and hoped that he would melt. But he was a really nice gentleman. So to let you all know I am safe but as soaked as my golf cart seat. Ugh!
My grocery order is put away and my body is telling me that I am done for the day. No more work, just a Sunday rest period until time to make supper. I think that it's time for a snack too.

HI ! It has been a nice day, warm and mostly sunny. We went to church but left early to get started on the Health Fair kick off. I went by the store to get fresh basil, they only had 1 pack. I did not want to run around town looking for more, so bought a bottle of dried to use just in case. I also bought a bottle of Mexican crema and an eye dropper to make a nice design on the top of the soup. I hoped for a squirt bottle but this little store did not have any, so went to plan B, even thought I did not really have a plan B. I looked over with the drugs and saw the medicine droppers-it worked great!
I came home and made soup-this time I chopped some sun dried tomatoes and added those to ramp up the tomato flavor. That worked well also. I sold 52 cups worth but lost the contest. Nurse Judy and her daughter won with their creamy gnocchi. It was very good!
During the soup fest, a volunteer came over and said someone called up and wanted to bring over all the unsold items from an estate sale over to the resale shop. They had quite a bit so it ended up being delivered to the activity center and will get moved over to the inside of the shop tomorrow, or maybe a shed if we don't have room. I am waiting on a call now from these folks. They have a load of furniture they are bringing over. We hope to put it in the furniture room. They said it is all good stuff-I hope so , I have not seen any of it.
Last night was the last concert of the season. It was a tribute to Elton John. I am not a huge fan but I did enjoy the concert. We ate at Joe's Italian beforehand.
The church camp out got canceled because of rain. I have not heard what that means for our ladies brunch. I assume it is still canceled. Hope so. That was all to be next weekend.
Glad Marlene is doing ok. Wonder what Lily is up to??
Need to run. Time is slipping away quickly today!

Lori, nice that you got the extra sleep today. The only way the time change really affects me is I hate how long before it gets daylight in the morning. I did lay down for an hour late this afternoon but I had been up since 3 AM old time. Enjoy what ever time you get to spend with you brother. It is precious time.
Elaine, I like your temperatures for the day. It got up to 41°here today and sure melted a lot of the snow on the deck. There will be a lot of ice come morning however as we are to get into the 20's.
Helen, I make crustless quiche quite often. I use asparagus or broccoli. I do have a tendency to misplace my cell phone but fortunately I have a land line also so I just call it.
Mamma, I got a good chuckle out of your strange man in the black car.
Tammy, you had a busy Sunday. I didn't see a mention of a nap in there anywhere.
I spent the afternoon in the in the shop working on plants. I got all of my begonia bulbs planted. I had left them right in the pots from last year to die so it was a job getting out of the soil it was as hard as a rock. I must have about 30 total. Cleaned up more geraniums and got most everything watered. Still have quite a bit to do. The geraniums are all small but need to be transplanted into larger pot. I need to pick up a bale of promix while I am on the road this week. I wet up the last of it today. I had to quit as the dry medium was really stuffing me up. Never had that happen before. Also brought some into the house to maybe get some seeds started.
I gave up on shoveling the sidewalk today and have a young man here doing it right now and it took him so little time he is also doing the front deck. He has it almost done and he hasn't been a hour. Work tomorrow but just a couple of quick jobs. I have a board meeting a 4 so can't stray to far from home. Then Tuesday will be a trip to Vermont and that is a big job. I laid down for an hour this afternoon. Now I am wide awake. Will get some dinner and see what the evening brings. Have some left over dried beef in milk gravy. Will have that on toast and call it dinner. I munched on some crackers and the leftover egg and olive salad earlier so not real hungry. In fact am thinking cheese and crackers might just do for dinner.
Well my young friend is just about so I need to go pay him.
Enjoy your evening.

We are having a wide range of weather experiences today! Mine is somewhere in the middle. Cool enough for a sweater this morning, but into the 60s by afternoon. I'll take it.
Bet, someone on the Taste of Home facebook group was trying to figure out how to make hot cross buns ahead of time for Easter morning and I shared your "brown and serve" instructions. Thanks again for sharing that with us! It has made my Christmas baking SO much easier.
Birdy, always wonderful to hear from you! I thought of you today when our neighborhood Tom Turkey came strutting down my driveway this afternoon in full regalia! That is one big bird.
Mamma, had to laugh at you holding off the Walmart guy with your hose! I understand being suspicious, especially when he answered you like that. He will learn not to get too smart with us older ladies. We don't play!
Lori, nice that you can enjoy a meal out and get to visit with your family.
Elaine, I go in spells of eating the same thing for breakfast every day so as long is there is cereal and milk, or bread for toast, I am always good for breakfast. Plus, I do tend to get hangry if I don't eat anything in the morning.
Tammy, your soup sounds so pretty! Would love to see a picture of your medicine dropper decoration -- what a good idea.
Chris, that was real white-knuckle driving last night -- so glad you got home safely.
Tasty, thinking of you as you remember your dad. The 27th of February was 15 years since mine passed away. I have so many good memories and I always smile when I think of him.
Jan, stew is one of those things that is just as good, if not better, left over. Enjoy!
Well, DH & I made a decision on which HVAC company to go with for our new unit, so he will make that call on Monday. We also moved ahead on travel plans for this summer -- we are going to Rome with DS1! He was going to be in Europe anyway and was already planning to go to Rome afterwards, and asked if we would meet him there. We weren't planning on another big trip so soon, but decided we might as well do it while we can, so we bought the plane tickets today. Yes, I am very excited!
