Good morning! It was pouring overnight...one burst woke me up as the rain hit the bedroom windows. The storm is on its way out, and it should be OK driving so I can go to the senior center. We'll see when it's light out there. Impossible burgers were good last night. I melted some Asiago cheese on top of them. I made crash potatoes. The Tuscan asparagus were great. Instead of roasting them since they were less thick than I normally roast them, I sautéed them, added a touch of water and cooked them covered them for a few minutes. Got the bank business taken care of. Went to Home Depot to look at ceiling fans and blinds...not much to look at there so will try Lowes. Tonight we are having more pasta and sauce. Will make a garden salad to go with it. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- It just stopped raining here about 20 minutes ago. Rained hard all night and our brook is very high. Roaring high! LOL Our fish tacos were very good last night. I made a sauce out of mayo, sour bream, paprika, cumin, chili powder and lime juice. Was very good. I think tonight I will do the ravioli up with a bream sauce.
I will try to get the top done n the new quilt and see what that is going to look like. I also want to start the Christmas quilt I have laid out. I was going to do that yesterday but side tracked with the one in Teals and blues.
Time to make some breakfast as we both slept in.

Good morning Up before the coffee pot started this morning. But by the time I used the bathroom and turned on a light there was enough brewed to fill my cup. I love having a coffee maker with a timer, no waiting. When I get up I want my coffee NOW. LOL Mandy was ready to go out as soon as I got up but she had to wait a bit for my brain to wake up enough to drive. ;)
I've got a lot of sorting to do before the patio sale on Saturday. I may have to put some things out on Friday or when ever I can get help. Mark has a table saw that I want to get rid of before it is useless and I'll need help moving that. I'll take any offer just to get it out of here. There is something else under the tarp but I don't know what it is. It will be a surprise.
The clouds this morning made for a pretty sunrise. But the phone camera just didn't do it justice.
Lunch will just be soup or a sandwich of some kind and supper may be a grilled pork steak, baked potato and cooked carrots.

Good morning everyone. Ann, shopping for your new home already I see. Times getting closer. Sure glad those days are behind me. Chris, we eat a lot of fish here, but never tried a fish taco. Hi Tasty. Mamma, good to clear out things that you’re not using, and that others can use. Good luck with your sale. My hands aren’t working right this morning, so if I don’t post much, you’ll know why. Not much going on here. Grocery sales have things we’re almost out of, so will go out for that. Other than that, not much happening here. Will take the day as it comes. Bbl. Jan

Good morning. We are at 54° heading to 71°. They emptied our pool as the hand rail was loose. Now, they will also clean it. There is only one guy working on it,not good when we have 3 other maintenance men.
The river paddle boat cruise was fun. The food was only okay. The charcuterie board was the best thing, lol.
Ann- I hope you are able to find some fans and blinds locally.
Chris- what is a bream sauce or did you mean cream sauce?
Tasty- have fun.
Mamma- so you decided to do the patio sale after all? I was hoping to come out for it to meet you but that is our horse race day and DH makes the sloppy joes for the noon meal before it starts. Then I have bunco.
Jan- is it arthritis that is bothering your hands or something else?
I won tickets to an Elvis tribute fundraiser concert for Friday night. Since I don't drive at night I am trying to find someone to give them to.
We get Cookie in about an hour or so. I sure hope she does well here. Next week we have our nieces dog Millie.

Good morning, friends. Today we celebrate National Hashbrown Day and National Peanut Cluster Day. I've never beeen a big hashbrown fan, but a peanut cluster sounds good right now.
Just got back from a bike ride. It's cloudy this morning, currently 71* with a high of 82* expected later. Going to step back into the garage in a few minutes and see if I can make heads or tails of my Tupperware.
With a limited list of foods that DH can eat before his colonoscopy on Monday, I think making some homemade macaroni and cheese will be our dinner this evening.
Have a terrific Thursday! Lori

We're having a little rain with a very cloudy sky. I'm having issues with the computer. When I dropped it awhile ago, it cracked where you plug it in but has been working ok. Just lately it's a toss up whether it will work the first time or need babying. Whatever! Glad to see everyone out and about. I have no such plans, luckily. I'm having a BBQ beef sandwich and corn on the cob for supper. Thanks for the corn mention, mamma. Sounds like you like it the same way I do ... lots of butter dripping down my chin. 😊 Turns out I really like the banana ice cream so that will be dessert for the foreseeable future. Have a happy afternoon. Hugs

Two lanes are open on the road out front more to do though. And the stripes are down too. Good thing the stripes are on because half the time too many don't know what side of the road to drive. We need the roads in the park striped too. I've had far too many near accidents because of drivers on the wrong side or the middle of the road. Geesh, where did they get their license?
I hope that I can now get to the bank tomorrow for change. And next week a haircut. I feel like a shaggy sheep dog. Coming back from taking Mandy down I really looked shaggy by the head. The wind really did a number on me. LOL Now to get back to pricing a few more items. I'll finish up tomorrow.
The wild rice soup hit the spot at lunch today and I'm really hungry for spaghetti so I can hardly wait for supper. :)
Helen, you bet, butter running down the chin. Gotta have lots of butter. :) Everything's better with butter. :)

Good afternoon. DH is on spring. Today was his last day of work in the high school lunchroom until school reopens on the 18th.
I didn't get the shelves done in the garage like I was hoping. Kind of got side-tracked seeing things I haven't seen in a while. Not much left to do, so I'll aim to finish that sometime tomorrow if time allows. Both DH and I have to be at the lab at 6:30AM for bloodwork (we have doctor appointments on Monday). From there we need to get gas at Costco, yard waste bags at Lowe's, and grocery shop ay Publix. Luckily, they all open early and are just down the road from one another.
Bet, in Our Cookbook, I tried to open Macaroni Pudding by Tammy under Casserole/Hot Dish. When you click on the link it just takes you back to the list of recipes.
By any chance, has anyone heard from Marlene? I have had her on my mind, esp. of lately. I had a dream where I went to see her and the lady that answered the door told me she no longer lives at that house. It was more of a nightmare, not a dream. Praying all is well with her and Lily.
Need to finish baking the Mac and Cheese for tonight and see what DH can still eat for dinner tomorrow. I'll be glad when his procedure is done, and I don't have to watch as carefully that I don't give him anything that he's not supposed to have. Got to go. Lori

Good Afternoon, Sounds like a good day for all. Mine was ok. Typical day at the shop, home for a short nap. I had thawed some sirloin steak so it is baking in the oven with gravy. I am thinking hot beef sandwiches.
Today has been sunny then cloudy, but at least it is warm .75* now.
Chris, I love blues, teals and purples! I'm sure the quilt is gorgeous.
I love hash browns and peanut clusters too! Unfortunately none to be had here.
I had a surprise when I got home for lunch. Pedro came running up the driveway! I greeted him and he came running to the front door wanting in-lol. I called DH and said he was here, so he sent judy over to get him. I guess Burt is back and staying in the rv, and he got out by accident. Pedro did not want to leave! She had to pick him up and carry him away!
Better go and finish supper.
Waving!

MACARONI PUDDING Active Time: 40 mins Total Time: 1 hr Yield: Serves 6 to 8 (serving size: about 1 1/4 cups) Ingredients 2 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
6 tablespoons (3 oz.) unsalted butter, divided
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/4 cups whole milk
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Dash of black pepper
12 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded (about 3 cups), divided
Cooking spray
Directions Preheat oven to 400˚F. Prepare macaroni according to package directions. Drain.
Melt 1/4 cup of the butter in a large skillet over low. Add flour; cook, whisking constantly, until smooth, about 1 minute. Increase heat to medium. Gradually whisk in milk; cook, whisking constantly, until thickened and bubbly, about 15 minutes. Whisk in salt and pepper.
Add pasta and 2 cups of the cheese to sauce, and toss to combine. Transfer to a lightly greased (with cooking spray) 3-quart baking dish; top with remaining 1 cup cheese. Cut remaining 2 tablespoons butter into pieces, and dot pasta mixture with butter.
Bake in preheated oven until lightly browned, 20 to 24 minutes.

Well, the A/C checkup revealed that we need a new unit. Not shocked, as it's 30 years old -- as DH said, "We knew this day was coming." A rep from the company that has our maintenance contract has already been here to give us info and a quote. 2 more from different companies are coming tomorrow. I'm glad DH is on break this week so he can deal with this. The rep today said that since it's not a busy time right now we can get it scheduled for the next week, so that's good. We hope to make a decision by Monday and get it done before the weather gets hot. It's always something!
DH is cooking burgers on the grill for our supper so I'm just getting out lettuce, slicing tomatoes, and pulling out condiments and chips. Nice and easy.
