Good morning! It's very warm @ 50°. Supposed to be a cloudy and wet week. Supper was comforting and filling. Watched two episodes of the new season "Somebody Feed Phil" on Netflix. Entertaining! No walkaerobics today...Bill has a doctor's appointment. Tonight we are having the eggplant pasta. No other plans at the moment. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- Never heard of "Someone feed Phil". Will have to look it up. My niece introduced us to "Hoof GP" We enjoy it.
So this was my yesterday. In the evening we went to the guys house where the sap will be going and helped do a boil and did 3 pulls equaling about 3 gallons of syrup. I did not get home until after 9pm.
So now I have to keep track of the buckets and we will take each day to the guy who is doing the boil and he will give us syrup for our portion. Last night I had a blast. Brought back so many memories from Childhood and young adult when we boiled. Forgot how much I missed it. We stood around and fed the fire and did the testing and watched the thermometer and then did the pull. Oh Yeah, and drank syrup! Hot off the spigot!

I have 4 buckets up on my trees and Brian has 15 buckets up. So we hope to get a couple of quarts of syrup from it all.

Good morning and hello to all! Not sure of the food holidays as of yet since I didn't turn the TV on yet this morning.
Ann, I have seen a few of the Feed Phil shows in the past and thought they were pretty good, but DH didn't care for them. Where did he visit in the two new episodes you watched? Hope Bill gets the results he wants at his doctor appointment today.
Chris, that tree tapping for maple sap to make syrup looks interesting. I hope that between your son and your trees, that you'll yield plenty of syrup to enjoy this year.
Not sure what will be going on here today. I woke up at 5:30 and noticed DH, who gets up at 5 for work, was still sleeping, When I asked him if he was feeling okay, he said yes but thinking of a day off. Oh, I hear him moving...yes, he opened the office door to say he called into work and said he's taking the day off. Okay, well since that is the case, I'll let him rest a bit long and sip some coffee while he watches the morning news, but little does he know, I'm going to have him pull off the blinds over the kitchen sink so we can get those cleaned sometime today.
Plans last night were to make a Taco Pie for dinner, but might make some Black and Blue Burgers on the grill instead. Will try to get back here sometime later. Lori

Good morning. It was 35°here overnight. I overslept this morning and never got up until 7. With the day I had planned for today I should be on the road by now so guess I will stay home and continue working on the house. The list is never ending so will have no problem keeping busy. The weather if very deary and foggy. To be overcast all week and showers for 3 days after today. The snow is going fast now but the big snowbanks around the house are still high. I will go to town to the transfer station sometime today. I have a tall trash can bag full of newspapers, lots of cardboard boxes and a large garbage can bag of large plastic bottles like bleach and detergent.
Ann, we have about the same forecast for the week but won't be quite as warm. Hope Bill gets good results at the doctor's today.
Lori, you must have been exhausted yesterday. It will be a nice change the girls coming to visit you in 2 weeks. Good for DH deciding he needed a break from work. After all he is suppose to be retired.
Chris, making maple syrup is a labor of love for sure. Hope the night get cold enough that you get a good run. How long has the sap been running? Are you working?
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. Ann, DH would be interested in the eggplant pasta, me, not so much. Chris, looks like great fun, but also, a lot of work. Hope you get a good amount of maple syrup for your efforts. What memories. I always have maple syrup in the pantry. Bet, we loved our cast iron pans. Just found them much too heavy to lift. Knew someone in the family would want them. They all did. Someone mentioned Le Cruet (sp). My SIL (DD1’s) collects it, hasn’t very many pieces yet. Lori, nice that DH can take a day off if he wants. Little does he he know what you’ve planned for him today. lol. DH wants to make chow mein and fried rice today. Have to make a run to the grocery for a few ingredients. He makes a lot, enough to give to DD upstairs and enough to freeze for a few meals. No recipe, he doesn’t use one. Need milk and bananas too. No other plans for the day. Bbl. Jan

Good morning. Out and back home. Mandy was happy to see her friends. They came a little later than usual so Mandy was waiting by the gate for them. hehehe Such happy greetings and then they all go their own way to do their thing. When we got back I plugged in the golf cart. After supper it should be recharged and unplugged. Then I switch the car and the cart around so I can use the cart again tomorrow morning. This time of year I only use it once a day unless I have garbage to take down to the dumpster. Otherwise we walk. Come summer the walking will be done.
Another windy day, in fact windy every day this week. No open windows or cleaning the porch for awhile. Mandy sulked all day yesterday. Boy will she be miserable this week. Yep, and all summer too. She loves the outdoors.
Nothing really planned for today. The house is pretty clean yet, it will be too stuffy in the house to bake and I don't really feel like doing anything as of right now. This weekend is the patio sale in the park, so I may price some things for that. But now I'm not so sure I really want to sell some of my kitchen stuff. I may regret it later. We lost so much that it is hard for me to sell what little I have no matter how much I use it now.
Yesterday I picked up two ears of corn and WM and had that for supper. OMG, it was such good corn, I wish I had gotten 4 ears. Today I'm thinking lunch will be a chef salad, and supper will finally be the ribs and kraut with a cooked potato.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning. I'm not sure about shuffleboard as Mamma said it's windy, but it has calmed down alot since my walk.
I have a social club board meeting this morning right after shuffleboard.
This afternoon and evening I have cards.
Last night was fun as we asked Travis and another friend Barb to go with us to help celebrate Judy's birthday.
I need to come up with something for supper tonight. I am leaning towards Lasagna.
Ann- hope Bill's Dr's. Appointment goes well.
Lori- lol, poor dh.
Chris- thanks for sharing the pictures.

Jan, I just wish my smaller cast ire frying pan and the 2 smaller dutch ovens were the old lodge. The new cast iron they don't grind the surface smooth when it comes out of the sand cast. They are rough outside and even to some extent on the inside. My old ones that were my mom's and some I got at garage sales are smooth and work just like the nonstick pans do. I have frying pans from 4 1/2" to 13". Also have 4 muffin pans. One has regular round sections and one set has rectangular with curved rather than flat bottoms. Also have one for corn bread that are individual sections that when dumped out what was the bottom looks like an ear of corn. Your chow mein sounds good. Do you use meat in it?
Mamma, nice that Mandy enjoys her time with friends at the park sinc mean mommy won't let her out on the porch. LOL
Elaine, is it usual to have so many board meetings or does it seem to me like you are mentioning them quite often lately.
Gayle, a couple of bags of leaves aren't going to do much for the stump hole. Good luck to your DB tomorrow.
Back to work.

Afternoon! It's a mild day but cloudy. I emailed the election department at City Hall saying that we never got our mail-in ballots. The director personally answered and said our ballots were mailed on Feb. 1st. Good ol' post office strikes again! Stamps get more and more expensive and service gets worse. All went well for Bill's doctor's appointment. He complained about a sore neck so he got x-rays and will get a call about it. I thawed some peppers, onions, & mushrooms and added to the eggplant sauce. Thawed some meatballs and gave them a little browning in a skillet to amp up the flavor...deglazed the pan with a little red wine and added that!! Lori - I smiled when I read that you are putting DH to work after he called in!!! The two episodes of Feed Phil were Mumbai, India (used to be called Bombay) and Washington, DC. I also heard him mention his cookbook that came out in 2022. One of the episodes in Season 7 is Orlando, FL. Chris - Hope you do get that yield for all of the work you are doing!!! Bet - I emptied two more drawers in the dining room this morning!! Endless.... Jan - I posted the eggplant recipe. Mamma - I noticed fresh corn at our market, but it was too expensive for me. Elaine - Lasagna sounds good!!! I'm looking forward to participating in activities and volunteering at Baldwin. I'm not a night person so will be home in the evenings. Time to get a wiggle on! Enjoy the afternoon! Waving!

High of 83 today. Had to wear shorts and short sleeved shirt to get the mail. Got a whole new batch of movies for the month of March. Just like my book lists, though, I'll never get through them all. It's time to whack off a chunk of hair that is altogether too long. Might wait til tomorrow. Ann, I do like eggplant but have only tried to cook it a couple times. Disasters, bitter and chewy. I'll look up your recipe. Lori, your hubby is up for a rude awakening, isn't he. I'm cooking a Mess of Green Beans for supper tonite. No need for anything else when I have a bowl of that deliciousness in front of me. Enjoy your day.

Hi ! Sounds like everyone's day is a-ok. The floor guys showed up at 8:45 and finished about 3 hours later. It looks great. It matches the other vinyl really closely. I fixed lunch for DH and myself then headed to the flooring store to pay my debt, then on to the grocery store to get the needed groceries for tomorrow. I got 5 of the twin packs of Suddenly Salad, classic flavor. Sounds easy enough. Guess I will get up tomorrow to put it all together since I won't have room in the fridge to store it. Sloppy joes on the menu for tonight, probably with french fries, and then later I will bake the 3 oreo cakes.
I plan on dropping off the food tomorrow then going by DH's office and pick him up, then we will go vote, right here in the park. No plans for the rest of the day.
We are not quite as warm as Helen, 75*. It is mostly cloudy and even sprinkled slightly this morning.
Better finish putting groceries away, then out to the apt to check on laundry. Fun times, right? lol

What an absolutely glorious day we have had with blue skies and sunshine all day long. We really haven't done much of anything - hubby spent some time on his golf game this morning while I had my morning walk on the beach and then watched some of the Canadian men's curling. After lunch he went over to the gym and I had another walk. Now we're both home having an afternoon 'cuppa' and then it will be time to cook some supper. We picked up a chicken pot pie from Fresh Market the other day and today we're here with enough time to cook it. Anything else we've tried from there has been good so I hope I can say the same about the pie.

Good evening. I think I am finally finished for the day. It took quite a bit of time to first water and feed all of the plants here in the house. Then I spent most of the rest day in the kitchen. Started out with cleaning the counter top range and then all of the counter tops. That is a day in itself. There is 25' of granite counter top. I just finished mopping the floor. A deep cleaning when I do the outside of the cabinets top and bottom, the refrigerator and the dishwasher it is a 2-3 day job. That includes stripping the floor and waxing. This kitchen is going to be a hard thing to give up when I move. Of course it wasn't just cleaning. I started taking care of paper work yesterday and continued on that today. That is pretty much done and I can see the dining room table again. There was still containers of candy etc. from Christmas. I have decided I am not going to work tomorrow and will finish up the rest of the main floor. That is all I clean anymore as that is all that is used.
I did finally call as get an appointment for Wednesday to get my bone density test done that they have been bugging me about since the first part of January. I will definitely work on Wednesday as that way I get paid for the mileage to get the test done as I have work in that town. Then will probably finish up and Thursday. I had planned to do everything in one day but this will work out OK.
Has anyone ever used the liquid chicken or beef broth concentrate. I received a recipe using it today. Was wondering how it compares to bouillon.
Ann, hope it was nothing serious with DH's neck. Kitchen is the hardest place I am going to have problems downsizing. I am starting however. I plan tomorrow to put a couple of things on Facebook garage sale as a lot of folks buy and sell on there.
Helen, envious of your weather. Your mess of beans sure sound good.
Tammy, glad you are happy with the new flooring. Busy as usual for your Tuesday meals.
Tasty, today sounds like it was a perfect vacation day. When DH and I used to go on vacation with the family I always enjoyed the days we had nothing planned the most.
Time to heat up some cream of celery soup I pulled from the freeze and make a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. See how long I last this time eating from the freezer. Of course I forgot to pull the ham and cheese from the freezer so need to go see how this is going to work out.
Enjoy your evening.
