Good morning! It's warmer at 47° and clear. Loved the turkey dinner last night. Tonight I'm concocting a soup with this week's leftovers. Didn't get the floors washed yesterday so will do so today. Will be a low key, kinda lazy day! Enjoy yours! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- It is currently 37° here and it rained most of the night. We had left overs for supper and this morning I am doing a brunch of Belgian waffles and home fries and bacon and the my niece is leaving to head back to school. Later Brian and fam will come for supper. We are doing fish or shrimp tacos. Will strip the beds later after DN leaves and do some laundry.

Good morning all. 39F at home this morning, foggy to start with and then clearing up to a mix of sun and cloud, warming to 46 this afternoon. Just add 20 degrees to the above and that pretty much sums up MB for the day, including the foggy start. Ontario just had one of the warmest Februarys on record. I'm sure we weren't the only place with that claim this year. Ann, your turkey dinner sounds just wonderful. I like to do that a few times during the year - a small half breast is enough for the 2 of us to enjoy a dinner and maybe a sandwich for lunch the following day. A busy weekend for you Chris but I'm sure you enjoyed having your niece visit. Do you know yet if you are working this week? I'm headed out for a walk in a few minutes then I'll have breakfast when I get back. Yesterday I missed out on walking because of the rain and flooding around here and really missed it. Will probably head down to the beach while it's quiet. Have a special Sunday.

Good morning Tasty- Sounds like a nice warm day for you. I do not know if I have to work or not this week. No word yet if the instructor has to stay home or not. Probably won't know until tomorrow. I sort of hope I don't have to as I would love a rest day! LOL I do like keeping my hand in at teaching but I am not as "spry" as I used to be!

Good morning. It was 25°here this morning and to go to low 50's but little to no sun. Yesterday I spent most of the day taking care of paper. Work, Lions and Personal. Most was just filing or tossing. I will continue cleaning and straightening up the house this morning. I need to water plants and then this afternoon I hope to get out to the shop and work on some plants and maybe start thinking about planting some seed. Haven't even looked at what I have and if I need to order any.
Work is slow this week so plan on putting in a long day tomorrow and getting everything done. Then I will be free the rest of the week. I have plenty to do but if I do it will be another subject. I have been spending a lot of time thinking how I am going to downsize and I really need to get started on it. I have a lot of things that will go to the Lions' garage sale but also have a lot of stuff that we don't take. I just don't know where to begin.
Before I do anything else however, I am going to package and move frozen food to the downstairs freezer and do up a menu for the week. I haven't been eating the greatest lately with working but this week I have no excuse. I also need to do a shopping list. Not much on sale but do need a few things that I didn't get this week. I think I will throw a cooler with ice packs in the car tomorrow. Oh yes, I just remembered I need to do laundry. Maybe I would get to the shop today.
Ann, enjoy your lazy day. I need to keep busy doing something or I will be in the kitchen cooking and have no room in the freezer for more meals.
Tasty, nice weather today. Enjoy it.
Lori, I am sure you are on your way to DD's by now. Have a great day with them.
Chris, I understand wanting a day to rest up. That is the way I felt last week and was sort of happy the power was off so I didn't go to work. This coming week I will be wishing I had more work and then the following couple of weeks I will be ready to quit I have so many hours and right into April. With driving I will be averaging over 25 hours a week. This past 2 weeks I worked 38 hours and drove 400 miles.
I am thinking dinner will start by making a crispy deep fried breaded mushrooms, Ann's Cubed pork with mushroom/Marsala sauce, Mashed potatoes, green beans Almondine, Dinner rolls of some sort and maybe make a Texas Sheet Cake. I have mushrooms to use up before they spoil.

Having gone thru the downsizing a couple of years ago Bet, I would suggest you pick something easy to start with, whether that's a room that will not need a huge amount of work (like a bathroom) or a linen closet so that you see some 'instant gratification'. Also, be ruthless, seriously! We got rid of so much and since we moved in to the condo about 18 months ago, we are still getting rid of stuff we just don't use 😔 .

Good morning everyone.
Last night I slept a little better, PTL. Woke up too early but didn't crawl out of bed until 6:30. After a full cup of coffee Mandy and I headed out the door. Mary and her two were there as well as Mandy's arch enemy. But Larry hooked up his mean dog and they left right away. He knows the issue well. No dog gets along with his, she is mean. I'm on my second cup of coffee and now having a doughnut. :)
Most of yesterday I spent crying so today I promised myself to get up and out! Although that didn't help yesterday. But Mandy sure enjoyed all the extra walks. We went for a nice long tootle also and saw that the back part of the park is really thinning out. :) Quite a few leave in March. :)
Communion this morning with my MN church so I'll get that ready before hand. I am looking forward to joining in house church, but I'll be late. Too much of what I dont' like in the first 20 minutes. It's so not needed every Sunday.
Lori, thanks, I think I'll dig out the Belgian waffle maker too. I'll give the surplus to my neighbor across the street. I've not treated her in quite awhile. It's been a very long time since I've made those waffles, Mark loved them.
Ann, almost all my soups are a concoction. Very few soups do I make have a recipe. :)
Have a blessed day.

Thanks Tasty. I have quite a pile of boxed up stuff that I did 2 years ago to go to the Lions Garage Sale. It is definitely going this year. Unfortunately there is no where to start small. I just have to get at it and be ruthless about what goes to the transfer station. There are at least 10 huge photo albums from the almost 30 years that DH and I spent traveling with Lions' clubs all of the country as well as Europe and Asia. There are of no value to anyone they are just sitting on shelves.
Mamma, hope you have a better day.
I have managed to get everything packed up from the freezer and now to get it downstairs and get the laundry going.

Bet- I started with my "attic" and wow I got rid of a lot of stuff. I am doing Tasty's method now. One room at a time and if I have not used it in a year I let it go. LOL Well sort of! I have done a lot of down sizing. Feels good surprisingly!
Mamma- The waffles were good. The bacon was good and OJ! Niece is getting ready to head out. I made blueberry and chocolate chip! She always has requests when she comes. I love doing them for her.

Good morning. Definitely downsize before you find yourself in a situation like mine where I physically can't do it. I would like to go to the house and retrieve a few things I need. I also plan to grab some things that I don't want to lose. Other than that I will be hiring Troy to clear out the house before sale which I don't know when it will be.
I am glad about the ENT's procedure coming up on my jaw but I am trying to be realistic in case it doesn't work out 100%. There are no guarantees with this kind of thing but you don't know until you try. At least it is covered by medicare.
Cloudy and quiet here right now--no more rain or the S word for at least a week. We may be up to 60 tomorrow!
Have a good Sunday.

That is very sound advice, Birdy. Do things while you can because we none of us know what lies ahead!

Oh you are all so encouraging, I think. We cleaned out the attic when we moved here 20 years ago and I don't have an attic anymore but have a fully finished basement with a 16' bar and back bar. Walls are fully decorated with awards and things we collected from our travels. However has no value probably to anyone else. Racks of cassette tapes, DVDs, CDs and VCR. I think DH belonged to every club of the month. I got rid of most of the vinyls a couple of years ago. I have a complete surround sound system with all of the different players for all of these things that were only used about 3 years. I don't know how to use them. However I would like to use them. This is just the beginning of my dilemma.
Chris, sounds like you and your niece had a good weekend. Still no work on work?
Birdy, good to see you here again today. Are you still in a room at the rehab center? I know at one time you were look at other housing there on campus.
I am falling behind my plan and have straightened up my little chest freezer in the basement and the freezer in the kitchen rather than starting laundry and cleaning the kitchen. I may need the entire week off after tomorrow to get everything done.

Good morning, it is 64° heading to 73 ° but very windy. I only walked Coco this morning. Yesterday, I spent the day with my sister, niece and great niece. Swimming, miniature golf and then last night c we all got together including my sister Shar and had supper at the Texas Roadhouse. It was good but so loud in there and with 8 of us we couldn't really visit. My niece and great niece headed home this morning. They will be stopping thru on the 11th as they asked us to babysit their dog Millie for a couple of nights while they go to LA.
Ann- I am sure your soup will be great, as I ve told you beforevyou are creative.
Bet- as Tasty said start in a small area. I chose my craft room as I wanted room for boxes of stuff I knew would be moving with us.
But since being here ai am accumulating stuff. A friend gave me a new food processor, they got it as a gift from the casino. I've always wanted one, but the blender worked so now, I am thinking of getting rid of the blender.
Chris- I hope you don't havevto work this week but then the money would be nice.
Birdy- I am sorry you won't be able to downsize, but you. Could start a list of everything you are taking. We are all praying that the Dr. Can fix your jaw. How is the rest of your therapy going?
Mamma- lol, that is one of my downsizes when we moved the waffle maker. I told myself if i wanted one I could go to a restaurant and order one or go to a hotel, lol. The George Forman also went as I knew dh could grill me a burger outside anytime.
We have a few dogs here in the park that need their alone time in the dog park.
We are taking Judy out for her birthday at 4. She chose Cracker Barrel, secretly I think so she can shop some as she knows I dont like shopping and so she never asks.

Good morning everyone. Just 10 am here. Ann, I’ve been having a lot of low- key, lazy days lately. Chris, hope you’ve had a nice visit with your niece. The weekend sure goes fast doesn’t it? Would be nice if you did get a day off tomorrow. Enjoy your meal with Brian and family. Tasty, I’ve never cooked a turkey breast. You’ve mentioned them before. I’ve been looking at them in the stores. I don’t cook the holiday turkeys anymore, so that may be the way we go. Your advice to Bet was spot on, but I see she’s answered you. Bet, you sure do keep busy. Anything that leaves the house is one less thing you’d have to move with you. Having said that, after being here 5+ years now, we’re still getting rid of things. Last week when DD and DGD were here, they took away with them several boxes, including our cast iron fry pans, my trifle bowl, many baking pans etc. Have a pile of old towels here, ready to take to the SPCA sometime this coming week. Whenever we feel like going for a drive. Mamma, nice when you’ve had a good sleep the night before. I hope you’re feeling better, and having a better day than yesterday. Birdie, so very nice to see you here. I’ve my fingers crossed that the dr. will be able to help you with your jaw. I’m very sorry to read that you won’t be able to go back to your home. I didn’t realize that. I’m glad that you’ve got Troy to help you. As I said to Ann, a very lazy day here. Got a load of towels washed, dried and folded, put away. Bread in b/machine, will finish in oven. Last of the butter chicken for me tonight, DH said he’d find something, lots of bits and pieces to choose from. Yup, lazy me. Well, I see I’ve rambled on again. Probably in real life you’d tell me to ‘just shut up’, so on that note, bye bye for now. Jan PS, I’ve never ever used that expression in real life, to anyone. I think just telling someone to be quiet sounds nicer, and I've rarely had to do that, thank goodness . Jmho.

I moved the salmon salad from supper to lunch today and will make chicken and noodles for supper. I usually use frozen Reames noodles but am using wide egg noodles instead by way of a change. I'm looking forward to a quiet afternoon doing crosswords and solitaire. Or not. Hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend. Hugs
