Lori, I have to agree with Elaine that trifle was the first thing that sprang to my mind for your pound cake. What a shame that you're not happy with it. We got up and out this morning and headed down to the Charleston area to go to Boone Hall plantation. An interesting day. Nice to see the land still being used, lots of crops grown every year. I suppose if we had thought more about it, we could have left our trip there for a couple of weeks and picked strawberries while we were there 😊. The house was quite lovely but is actually less than 100 years old despite the plantation being well over 300. The temperature was quite cool after yesterday's warm sunshine.

Elaine, I was going to suggest trifle for Lori's pound cake too. Also, Lori, my mother used to butter and toast pound cake slices for breakfast sometimes -- might be a new morning treat for you!
Ann, we have a Bon Secours hospital in Greenville, just up the road. In fact, the big arena where concerts are held is the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, better known as "The Well."
Mamma, you can come have chicken pot pie anytime. I hope Mandy feels better soon.
Jan, what a nice evening you have planned!
Helen, your post made me smile. We used to do the same thing with the Sears Christmas "Wish Book" -- and my daddy would say, "You can ask for anything you like, but that doesn't mean you'll get it!" Online grocery shopping really does work the same way.
Bet, so sorry you are without power and internet but at least you are prepared. Hopefully it won't be too long. I know which motel will be getting more business tonight! Maybe the resort folks will learn their lesson.
Everybody's dinners sound good. I made sloppy joes and french fries for us and we enjoyed it.
ETA hello to Tasty! We've been to Boone Hall and it is a beautiful place.

We brought home a pizza with us tonight. Some locals we met told us about the Thursday special at Fresh market - a $6 pizza which they said was very good! It was! We also picked up a chicken pot pie for another night.
