Good morning! Shiver me timbers...it's cold out there at 13°. I'm warm in here! There's a beautiful full moonlight illuminating my kitchen. Bill did a delicious job on the pork medallions last night. His mom's recipe for green beans were delicious. Tonight we are having soup that I made yesterday from the rest of the garlic chicken and rice. No big plans for today...just relaxing! Have a great morning! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- We are sitting at 9° right now. Big change from yesterday. We had leftover fried Chicken from my lunch at Cracker Barrel yesterday. They give you 4 giant pieces so I ate the 2 smallest for lunch and Dan and I had the biggies for supper. Yum!
Was a good day out with DGS at the mall yesterday. We went to Ingleside in Holyoke Ma. Today is planned a steak dinner with family. I think I will have Dan grill it on the grill outside. We grill outside all year long.

Good morning. It is 2°here this morning and to warm up into the 30's with plenty of sunshine. We are suppose to be in the 50's a couple of days this next week. The only thing I did yesterday of any consequence was I got one more Glasses reset done and cleaned up the kitchen. Dinner last night was Sloppy Joes from the freezer and french fries. I made the best french fries I have ever made last night. They were crispy. I had made the recipe before but had forgotten about it. It is quite a process but worth it. I am thinking of making a big batch and freezing them and see how that works. I think if they are frozen after the first fry they will work well in the air fryer.
I can't decide what I want to do today. I should go to work and finish the last glasses reset and have those behind me but I have a lot to get done here at home. One thing is my taxes that I need to have done by Thursday. Also have a bunch of Lions work to get done. All are time sensitive. The store doesn't open until 9 on Sunday so maybe if I get off here I can get things done and still go to work today. It will be my 6th straight day of work and have the first 3 days coming up scheduled so will be 9 straight days. Sitting here thinking about it isn't getting anything done.
Ann, enjoy a do nothing day if you can.
Chris, glad you and DGS had a good day at the mall. I can't remember the last time I have been to a mall shopping. The on in Glens Falls doesn't have much to offer anymore.
Have a great day.

Bet- We have to drive an hour and a half for a mall in any direction, or longer. So we only go about 2x a year if that. Would love to know if you try freezing the french fries and how they come out. I may try it too!

Chris, I have frozen pre fried french fries before and they work great. However this is an interesting pre cooking and then pre frying method that I am trying. They are cut with a serrated knife the boiled in a vinegar salt water solution, pre fried then rested and then final fry. It works but takes some time but worth it if you make and freeze them I am thinking.

Well the taxes are filed. Now to see if I qualify for a break on my land taxed. On to setting up a roster for the Lions upcoming Chocolate Bunny Sale. The jury is still out if I am going to work or not. I have a feeling not is going to win out.

Good morning
No one in the pet area again. It is already 66º outside with no wind but plenty of clouds. I didn't even need my earmuffs this morning. But I did wear a lighter jacket. Heading for a high of 81º today again.
Not much planned but I'm bored enough that I may venture out to a store. That is a maybe!!!! I'm not sure I am bored enough to battle all the people. Church on line again.
Waving back at ya Ann!!
Chris a good day with grandkids is a good day. You have me hankerin for a grilled steak. Hmmmmm I'm not sure what I'm making for any meals, as of yet.
Bet, I have no income but SS so I don't have to file. :) One less headache for me. You work too hard. Take a break. :)

Good morning. It was beautiful on our walk this morning. I never did go for one by myself. I was late getting up so ran and got Coco. Then I went to church, wow double attendance from last week. Must be the wonderful weather.
This afternoon while DH is watching the race I will go work on the puzzle at the clubhouse.
I think we will have Chinese tonight, I have a frozen bag of something in the freezer, plus some egg rolls. I just took out steak and hamburger for Monday and Tuesday. Our fridge is so cold that it takes at least 2 days to thaw. Sloppy joes sound good but we are having them next Saturday as dh has 12lbs of burger to make sloppy joes for the dicey horse races.
Ann- my kind of day
Chris- glad you enjoyed your day shopping with grandson.
Bet- our taxes are done also, what a relief to get them out of the way.
Mamma- us to on the taxes but we file as we each get the $25 for being an az.resident plus half of our property taxes back. It's not much, but it's something. I am going to Country Roads in the morning as they are having a son's of Norway doings. I am hoping to pick up some goodies.

Good afternoon. What a glorious day we have. It was a cold start in the high 30s and supposedly only going to 54F but our deck is in full sun and there's no wind. Shorts and t shirt would work out there! At home, it started outing the high teens and with the help of the sun it should get to the high 30s. Hubby went to the gym and I got my daily dose of surf with a good walk on the beach. More dolphins spotted very close to shore again this morning. Went for a late breakfast at a place close by that looks kinda run down, and I'd seen reviews saying ignore the look, try it! Good, good breakfast. Another place to go back to. Have a terrific day.

Good afternoon, friends. Another busy day here. Today is national Clam Chowder Day and National Chocolate-Covered Nuts Day.
This morning after my leg squeeze, bike ride, breakfast, I had to descale the coffee pot. I know we use our Keurig a lot, but I just did it 3 weeks ago. Oh well. Then I started to gather DH some snacks for work tomorrow and the cookies I had put away in the freezer last week were gone---yep, he ate them all! So, next I baked cookies, then ironed, finally now giving myself a quick break. In between, I've been doing laundry and almost am done with the bedding.
Dinner this evening will be a new to us stove top chicken recipe and some green beans. Will turn on the oven and make a casserole of corn pudding. The chicken recipe is from Southern Living and Lord knows how long it has been waiting for me to try---probably 15-20 years. I'll let you know what we think of it.
Got to go back to the kitchen. Talk to you tomorrow. Waving to everyone and wishing you a beautiful remainder of the day! Lori

Well I worked today but not very far from home. I made the 10 steps from the computer to the kitchen. I made a batch of french fries to free and see how they work out. Will have some of those along with bacon and cheese meatloaf. Have some grape tomatoes that were about ready to go south so sauteed them in some rosemary oil with some onion, garlic, cayenne and white balsamic vinegar. Will have that as a condiment to the meat loaf and have a nice green salad made with some croutons that needed to be used and ranch dressing. I have purified and filtered my frying oil and the kitchen is cleaned up. I have gotten other things to the freeze and the refrigerator looks like it is time to do some shopping. I have looked at all 3 grocery store ads but haven't done my list yet. Only think that isn't done for Lions is getting the deposit ready for the secretary which I should get done tonight. Also get all the receipts from the February dinner to her so she can balance the debit card.
Mamma, you high temperatures are a little too warm for me. Did you get out and go to the store?
Elaine, I am sure the snowbirds must affect the attendance at church. Enjoy your Chinese. I need to find time to make some egg rolls and also some dumplings. Glad you liked the movie.
Tasty, how did the golf go yesterday? Is the hip doing OK? Must be nice to see the dolphins up close. Hope the weather continues to be nice.
Lori, you have had a busy day. You have some cookie monster on your hands. Was everything OK with Fred last night?
Well the rest of that Lions' work isn't going to do itself.
Enjoy your evening.

Since there is little to no one to help around here I added my softener salt myself....2 cups at a time from a 40 pound bag. Actually once the bag got empty enough for me to lift it safely I dumped it into the softener. That two cups at a time is hard on the back too.
The golf cart and car have been dusted off. Yes, dusted. Mark had gotten the neatest duster for just that purpose. And it works great. No need so wash when it's just dust on the vehicles. Now if the porch cleaned off that easily and well I would have it made, but I did sweep it a bit. That is it for the day. I've not left the house except to take Mandy for a short walk.
Lunch was creamy potato soup and two cookies. I wish I knew what to do for supper. May just be a sandwich and chips.

We got back from Summerville a few hours ago. DH had a nap and I got out my sewing kit and mended a seam in a new sweater that had come loose. Guess that's why it was on the clearance rack.
Now he's out walking and I've got laundry going. I got DMIL's taxes done while we were there and now I need to get ours finished up. We might actually get a refund this year! Woohoo! I'll get a nice meal out of it, anyway, as I always tell DH he needs to take his accountant out for dinner.
Since we had a late lunch on our way home, I think I might heat up some potato soup for supper. That's sounding good right now, anyway.

Mamma, the scoop and move is how I do a lot of things. I have several #10 cans that I use. Find yourself a real cheap like 2 quart sauce pan with a handle. The will work great for what you just did.
Elza, glad you are home safely. Nice that you do your DMIL's taxes for her.
