Hello, Sounds like everyone is having a good day. Chris, glad you are not having pain from the kidney stone. Have not heard of kidney sand, but maybe that is a good thing. I have not had either.
I just took my cake out of the oven. The icing is a can of whipped vanilla icing mixed with cool whip. You make little indentions and drizzle a tiny spot of orange gelatin in it, then swirl it around with a toothpick to make a pretty design. I may wait and do the icing in the morning. Not sure that we have room in the refrigerator to store it overnight.
I worked today. Our weather has been like Lori's. Cool nights, very warm and sunny days. Yesterday was a little breezy.
The shop had a good week. Everyone loves the new layout. Penny stopped in to drop off some donation but she did not say anything.
I made the cheesy potatoes for the pot luck. I doubled the recipe so had a lot. Others brought potato chips, potato salad, and a rice/corn casserole. Lots of starch. The burgers were good that DH cooked. Gay brought a peanut butter cake that was fantastic.
Did I mention that I joined newspapers dot com. I have been having fun looking up the old paper articles. Who visited who on Sunday afternoon. There was a wedding shower and it lists the hostess', and all the attendees, and the decor! I plan on using it for the 6 months, and I have it written on the calendar when to drop it.
I had a couple large potatoes, so am baking those, and will grill a couple large thick pork chops. I have a head of cauliflower, but it is getting brown so not sure it can be salvaged.
Waving to all! Sleep well-Mamma-this means you!

Here I am once more today. Just finished dinner---we grilled Italian sausage and asparagus, and I did the peppers and onions on the stove top.
It was a busy morning. Left the house about 7:50 and didn't pull back into the driveway until 12:45. First stop was the Amish Farm Market where we were in and out in 30 minutes---got the usual fruits and veggies and some cheese at the deli. Then we drove north to Costco. That place was crazy!! First, we got some gas and then parked and had a 15-minute wait until they opened the doors at 9:30. Spent an hour there and $200, but sadly, I must say that DH and I have decided we will not renew our membership when it is up in December. The shoppers today were so rude--- shoving and pushing carts just to get in the store, cutting off other shoppers trying to get in line to checkout, etc. It reminded us of a cattle round-up and neither of us enjoyed the experience at all today! If we decide we want to do a warehouse store again, we'll go back to BJ's where none of this behavior was a part of in the past. Took the long way home and stopped at Aldi. Bought a 12-inch Crofton sauté pan to match the Dutch oven DH bought last October for the cottage. He loves that pan. They also had, same brand, a fry pan, but it was rather tinny compared to the sauté pan, so passed on that.
Once home, I needed to warm up leftovers for our lunch and prep the produce for the refrigerator. Then I finished making a double batch of granola that I started the other day. Afterwards I oiled the 2nd piece of my teakwood bookcase and then placed items back on the other piece I oiled the other day. Just before dinner I still hadn't got on the bike, so off I road into the still sunny afternoon.
Chris, thank you for posting me the recipe for the Meltaway Brownie Bites. Unfortunately, I have neither the brownie mix nor chocolate syrup in the house, so until I hit the store next weekend, that recipe will need to wait. Thank you again for your help!
Jan, I personally think any of the Kiss candies would be fine in the above cookie recipe. The only reason I'll be using the meltaway Kisses is because I bought them on sale. If DH enjoys them, the next batch I'll use whatever kind of Kisses I already have in the in the freezer (thinking it might be a post-Easter assortment that I bought on sale last year).
Elaine, hard to believe that after 2 weeks you still haven't gotten the coupons from Jean or myself. Wow, maybe they are coming by oxen as Jean said. I thought going inside the post office to mail it would speed up things, but that sure wasn't the case. Hope it arrives soon.
Need close, sorry. Fred just called and asked if he could stop by yet this evening to talk to us???? Wonder what that is all about???? Talk to you sometime tomorrow. Waving to all! Lori
