Good morning! It's another freezing start to the day and clear. Warmed up to 44° yesterday late afternoon. Bill's supper was awesome last night. He can cook anytime!!! Tonight we are having more meatloaf, baked potatoes topped with some peppers and onions and cheesy spinach stuffed plum tomatoes. Other than going to Curtis and walkaerobics at the senior center, I have no plans. Making a roasted peppers and onions omelet for breakfast this morning...yum. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Good morning. It was 22°here overnight and to warm into the low 30's with snow this afternoon into tomorrow morning. Not suppose to amount to too much. I have been reading but just too tired to post. Work has been unbelievable. I go to work, I come home, eat dinner and go to bed. That has been my schedule this week. Hoping for a bit of relief today have just one store with a 3 1/2 hour reset. However, with a reset you never know just what to expect.
Not much to talk about and need to get some things done around here before I leave for work. Want to leave early in case the job takes longer than expected, I get home before the storm starts this afternoon.
Have a great day.

I'm enjoying a little slower schedule this morning. I had a nice walk and now, toast and coffee while I catch up online. I need to make a stop at Kohls sometime today to pick up new bath towels that I ordered, and also want to go by Aldi for a few things there. Last time I was there I got sourdough bread and DH loved it for sandwiches. It also was great for breakfast toast. Here's something I thought was amusing and interesting -- Birdy, if you're reading, check this out because of course I thought of you when I saw it! Bird Names That Sound Like InsultsAnn, DH & I will probably have leftovers from last night's baked potatoes for tonight's dinner. Bet, hope the reset goes easily and you can get everything done and get home before the snow flies. I missed seeing Chris here yesterday -- hope all is well. I miss hearing from Marlene too.

Good morning everyone. Ann, 37*F here today, mostly cloudy all day. That may change. Don’t know what’s happening today other than doctors appointment for both of us, just our usual checkups. Bet, please take care. That’s too much of a work schedule. Can you possibly scale back, drop one of the stores? Hope all goes well with this job and you get home before the storm hits. Emr, what a great start to your day. Getting a nice walk in before work. Makes for a good day when you don’t have to rush around before you leave. Well, must go and get my day started. Have a few things to do before we have to leave and neither of us can move very fast these days. Bbl. Jan

Good morning
A bit cooler this morning, it was 46 when we went out. This morning I so wanted to sleep in longer than 6:30. And from now on I will get up when I get darn good and ready. Mandy is in no hurry to do anything when we get to the pet area anymore, so I'm not going to be in any hurry to get there either. So there! hehe
Moving furniture, stripping the bed, and a grocery order is on the agenda for this morning. Not sure when the mattress will come but I will be ready. The delivery guys have another order so I said they could go there first. Or they could run into my grocery delivery.
Hopefully our street won't be so congested with construction work vehicles and we can safely get out for a walk. I also pray the drivers in the park use their brains too. It's just not safe for walking on the streets in the park now. :'( Except for early in the morning, not many walkers are seen out and about either.
I have a feeling the chow mien will go right into the freezer. With such warmer weather ahead I've lost interest in a heavy meal. And I really don't need the extra calories from the noodles either. Nope, don't care for it with rice. I'm thinking a sandwich of some kind for lunch and I'll see what y'all are having and make my supper choice at someone else's home. LOL
Ann you are so lucky that Bill can cook. Mark couldn't boil water and he had NO interest at all in cooking. But he made sure I had whatever I needed to do the cooking and baking. hehehe
Elza, I'll have to check out that site with the insulting bird sounds. hehehe
Bet, Sorry you have such a heavy workload right now. {{{HUGS}}}] I do hope that you can cut back some or stretch it out more.
Jan, I don't think many of us move as fast as we use to or would like to. Some days that really bothers me and then some days, I figure I moved fast long enough. LOL

Good morning all. Another sunny day in MB and 55 as a high. The snow that Bet is expe ting was also originally expected to hit our area at home but now it's disappeared from the forecast. Instead, it's cloudy with a high of 41. We golfed yesterday but found the temperature dropped quite quickly once it started to go down so it means golfing earlier in the day in future. The combination of cold and a certain amount of bending has me feeling kind of achy this morning - such is life. Washer is calling . . . Have a lovely day 😊.

Good afternoon, friends. Today is National Cook a Sweet Potato Day and National Margarita Day.
Ann, glad Bill cooked you a delicious meal last night! My DH has always loved to cook and does a great job of it when he does it. Your breakfast today had me hungry, so I will make myself the same for lunch---thanks for the idea!
Bet, your work schedule sure has been heavy lately. Hope that the reset today goes smoothly and that you're home safe, off the roads before the snow blows in later today. Praying that you get a few days off soon before it is time to do another reset.
Elza, I enjoyed the site with the insulting bird names---thanks for sharing. Hope that Birdy does get to see it too as I'm sure she'd enjoy it!
Jan, hope you and your DH both get good results today with your doctor appointments.
mamma, glad your new mattress is arriving today; I hope that you'll be much more comfortable with this one. Chow mien sounds good---I will need to add that to my menu in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, we have never been able to find a good Chinese restaurant in town so when a craving happens, I have to make myself.
Tasty, glad you and DH are getting out to enjoy some golfing. This time of year, when the temperatures begin to drop, they move quickly, and you feel it! Hope you'll be able to schedule some earlier tee times in the future.
I had hoped to get back here yesterday, but we got some sad news that cancer has returned for DH's BF, Fred. He will once again be having surgery next Wednesday.
Pulled some leftover Thanksgiving turkey from the freezer as well as some dressing. Going to make a cream sauce, add the turkey and serve it over biscuits, dressing and broccoli on the side.
Waving to everyone and wishing you a beautiful day! Lori

Good morning. I am sorry to hear that Fred is facing more surgery. I hope this is successful and the last.
I loved the bird names that you posted. Many of them are native species here but under very different names. The Ruddy Duck is one of my favorites. They are small for a duck but have a lot of attitude for their size. I have a friend who describes the males as designed by Disney with those blue bills and bright rusty back feathers. I have no idea where some of those other names came from.
Not going on here right now so this will have to be it for the day. Have a good afternoon and sleep tight.
Birdy

Cell service just came back...we were out since 4am. I could do Internet stuff, but no phone. Dinner tonight...! Lori - Dinner sounds delicious. I have a crockpot half turkey breast on the menu for Saturday week. Sorry to read about Fred's illness returning. Birdy - It was wonderful seeing your post!!! Elza - Neat link! Yep, we'll have leftovers tomorrow, too. I put extra on the plate just for the picture! Tasty - Hope your soreness lessened as the day went on. Enjoy your evening! Waving!

An hour's walk on the beach has certainly helped! My body is just going to have to get used to at least some bending because if I'm going to golf, I need to put a tee in the ground 😮 and I'm not ready to give up golfing! If too much bending means I give up washing floors - that's different 😃.

Tammy, Hubby loved Heinz tomato soup. In fact, he was not fond of any Campbell's soup because he was used to Heinz. Luckily, we could usually get it and many other British favorites in the Publix International Aisle. Bet, hope today's store reset surprises you and goes smoothly. I'm making baked chicken w/gravy and a baked potato for supper tonite. Hopefully enough chicken left for hot shredded chicken sandwiches soon. Hey, Birdy! Hugs to all.

Ann, we've been w/o phone service all day too. I usually check my phone several times a day, but not until later this afternoon today. I was waiting for a phone call that I never received and thought that was strange. Also, some days I get what seems like a ton of scam calls and thought that was also odd that I had a peaceful day with that. This morning I heard about AT&T customers had problems but heard nothing about our CC service. Guess maybe they use the AT&T cells? In any case, nice to have service back.
Tasty, great that a walk on the beach offered you some relief.
Helen, you're correct---Publix has some many of the Heinz British favorites. I've seen the tomato soup for years and have often wondered about it, so now I'm going to need to try it. Are you able to buy any of the British foods in your local grocery stores in your area?
Yes, it's upsetting to think that Fred has to deal once more with the cancer. He's feeling pretty down right about now, which I can't blame it, I guess. I promised him that as soon as my DB leaves, I will make him some of the zucchini quick breads he enjoys so much with his coffee. That brought a big smile to his face, so I'll gladly keep my promise.
Time to start the dinner. Waving to all. Lori

I used to be able to get the tomato soup in large Kroger stores, but that has not been the case for a couple of years. We love it. To me it has a robust tomato flavor. It was a busy day with work, and of course the needed nap, then DH got home so we went to the store as we found out that our Bible study group is hosting this Sunday's potluck. The group usually does the main course and others bring desserts. DH wants to do red beans, rice with smoked sausage. That was ok with the group so we bought canned beans, the sausage, canned tomatoes in assorted flavors, some cajun seasoning, and all the paper goods. The church may have bowls, etc, but we wanted to go ahead and provide those items. Supper was a throw together casserole of ground turkey that I browned with some white chicken chili seasoning, tomatoes with green chilies, layered with corn tortillas and cheese. Turned out ok. DH liked it-a little on the spicy side for me.
I may not make it here tomorrow. I will work all day, come home and make my cheese potatoes, be across town by 6 for a cook out.
Both of my volunteers for tomorrow will not be there. I called a substitute but she never got back to me, but one gal who has been out of town for 2 months stopped by today saying she is back in town. Actually, they travel full time and are just here for winter. She will leave again in April, but she will be working tomorrow.
So sorry to hear about Fred's cancer. Will say a prayer.
Good night.
